The heart of Danbury, Downtown is the proud home to Western Connecticut State University, the Danbury Railroad Museum, and the Danbury Music Centre. Named after Danbury in Essex, England, this town’s downtown district offers a charming, historic vibe. Danbury is a quiet town, but residents appreciate the urban amenities that Downtown has to offer, from local restaurants and specialty shops to public transit stops and historic attractions. Downtown Danbury sits just outside of Interstate 84 nearing the Connecticut-New York state line. Property Ratings at 1 Kennedy Flats Apartments
I lived at 1 Kennedy Flats for 5 years and overall, it was a great experience. The community is wonderful, and the leasing office staff are absolutely fabulous—always friendly and helpful. However, the rent did get more expensive over time with regular increases, though that's something that happens in many places. Highly recommend the leasing office team for their excellent service!
The hallways frequently have unbearable odors. At one point, it smelled like boiling tuna, and another time, like urine. Unfortunately, these smells even seeped into our unit. Additionally, the lawns are often littered with trash, and some residents leave oversized trash bags on the trqsh room floor instead of using the trash chutes, contributing to the problem. That said, the staff and maintenance team are excellent—responsive and professional—and this review does not reflect poorly on them. The amenities are great as well. However, it seems that many residents lack basic respect for shared spaces, which has significantly impacted my living experience. Although I am not renewing my lease due to an increased commute, I would still move out based on the community atmosphere alone. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the overall living experience for future residents.

I had the opportunity to stay in this apartment , and I was really impressed. The leasing office staff were friendly and provided all the necessary information, making it easy to settle in. The apartment itself was modern, clean, and well-appointed. The open floor plan made the space feel bigger than expected, and everything from the kitchen appliances to the bathroom fixtures seemed high-quality and well-maintained. The large windows let in a lot of natural light, which really brightened up the space. The building amenities were a nice touch as well. I had a chance to check out the fitness center, which was well-equipped, and the common areas were neatly organized and inviting. The location is also very convenient.

Great building, but the rentals are just a little too high and the Building is way under staffed. The staff in general are great. The community room could use a new pool table and accessories

It is a pleasure living here at Kennedy Flats. I have lived in a couple different apartment buildings and by far, this is the best. Maintenance staff…. Whom I would like to personalize and recognize the names of a few including Clarissa, Novi and Hugo meet and go above expectations. They are professional and never do they make you feel like you have annoyed them by putting a request of service. They enter the home with a smile upon their face each time. Eric in the office, is always a ray of sunshine with a smile on his face passing by him each day! It’s winter and the holiday season so the lobby of the building is decorated beautifully for us residents and the potential newcomers. Pertaining to winter, snow removal is always done with care and consideration. Hosted events show appreciation to tenants that include catering with food and beverages. These are just a few positive aspects of living at Kennedy Flats. We are happy living here!

What a great place to live. The units are amazing. Hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless appliances, large and spacious bathrooms, in-unit washer and dryers , plenty of closet space, and even pet friendly. Convenient to the highway and all major shopping and hospital. Lauren and Eric are great. They’ll find just the perfect fit for you. I can’t say enough. I’m very happy with my decision of moving my family to Kennedy Flats. We have everything we need in one building, 24hr fitness gym, community room, pool, outdoor grilling, mail, package concierge and an indoor trash area. Not to mention our unit has everything also, stainless steal appliances (including dishwasher and garbage disposal), subway tiles in bathrooms and espresso cabinets throughout. Lauren and her team made the move in experience as seamless as possible. I’d definitely recommend this community to my family and friends.
Nice and clean space. There are no loud neighbors so far, I love to see the pets walking by. Nice amenities, and I am in love with the apartment localization.
The unit is terrific and the amenities are amazing. I’d highly recommend to anyone. Everything was clean and ready before my arrival. Lauren and Eric are great, they took care of everything.

My residency has been a pretty smooth transition from my last and the community here is so welcoming. The residency coordinators and leasing staff have been very friendly and very transparent when it came to our walkthrough inspection and move in dates. I am staying here for almost 6 months now. The community is very clean and spacious. The neighbors are friendly and supportive. Kennedy Flats is great. The units are amazing. Very spacious with the high ceilings and modern appliances and hard wood floors. The bathroom is large. In unit washer and dryer are the best. The amenities are nice too. A beautiful pool, nice gym area and convenient common space with pool table, fireplace, large tvs and available for private parties. Either Courtney or Eric will find you just the right sized unit. They have many styles to choose from. Convenient to shopping, downtown and Route 84. And pet friendly too.

Awesome! Really love the apartment and the community. My only issue is that my oven doesn’t work! Maintenance has been awesome though in trying to get the issue fixed!

When we first came to 1 Kennedy Flats, we were welcomed by warm smiles and open arms. The leasing team explained everything so well and got an apartment the same day we toured. Since living here, everyone has been very friendly and supportive. Our washer had some problems upon move in and they were quick to give us a replacement. I love it here!

My husband, son and I moved to Kennedy Flats almost a year ago. We were joyful at move in and it continues to be delightful each day we leave our home and return. If a situation needs to be resolved such as maintenance or anything in general, the leasing staff as well as maintenance team are extremely diligent addressing the matter in an adequate time. Everyone from the leasing office is personable and professional. It adds joy to my day when I see any staff member either from leasing or maintenance and they take the time to wave or simply say hello with a smile. We always look forward to the monthly appreciation Kennedy provides to us as residents, whether it’s giving donuts and cider during the fall or the staff hosting a holiday party for everyone to gather and everything in the months between. Thank you for providing a safe and positive community for us residents at Kennedy Flats!

Everything is so clean and quiet here. this is my second year living here and I have zero complaints. The pool is amazing and gym isn’t packed. Courtney in the office is amazing!

Kennedy Flats is a great place to live. Nice and quiet, pet friendly, close to I84, close to shopping and just about anything else you would need. Maintenance was fantastic. I had an issue with my dryer and it was fixed in a day. Amenities are the best. Exercise room is open 24/7 and never too busy. The pool is a great place to cool off and have a bbq. The units are beautiful.

Love it here! Great amenities, no noise, peaceful. Wish the gym had some more equipment and machines otherwise no complaints. Recommend to anyone in the health field who needs to stay somewhere close to the hospital
Very nice place to live. Dog friendly. Great location and nice neighbors. Quiet building and the gym is a plus to have as well. Definitely would recommend this place to friends/family.
