Property Ratings at 33 West End Ave
I would not recommend this building to anyone. There are mice in the building, and management does nothing to solve the issue. The elevators break down nearly twice a week. The VP of Atlantic Development Group is a guy named Mel and I have never met a man so unprofessional before in my life.
It has 2 elevators for 26 floors. One is the maintenance elevator. One is under repair every single day. I have waited for up to 30 minutes from. Elevator at least a few times a month. The management is awful. Mel, the manager is the worst. The building is the worst in the neighborhood bar only the affordable housing a block away. He could converge is in name only. They are package staff, cleaning people and will never assist you with anything. It’s not them. It’s the management. The gym is old. Not enough equipment and what there is is outdated. The lounge is dirty with stained couches. Basically, you can do much better. Avoid!
Lived here several years and have no reason to even consider moving. Great building staff, very friendly. They're always offering to help me bring up any large or heavy packages I get in the mail. And the building isn't overly large so all the guys at the front desk know me and everyone else I know in the building by name.
Most reviews seem accurate! If you are looking for a stressful living experience, this is your place to be. Elevators are always down, 311 reports bed bugs, shuttle bus is questionable, the building is a potheads dream as pot can be smelled everywhere, management and building staff are elusive and no one ever seems to be able to provide any real answers. Run away from this place and don't let the leasing agents fool you into thinking this is a good place to be.
My wife and I lived here for just shy of 2 years. The concierge is great and always very attentive to our needs and requests. The lounge could use some TLC but all in all it's been a great place to call home. If it wasn't for accepting a new job outside of NYC we would love to have stood. Thank you for making our time here as great as it was!
W have been here 10 years. As people leave the building renovates kitchens. We have begged for new kitchen. They will not do it. Laundry room was "renovated" last year, I have some kind of problem with washer or dryer every week. Elevators are terrible. They have been working on replacing them for a year. 1 of 3 works. Rarely ever do 2 work. Never 3 working.
