Property Ratings at Turtle Lake
Everyone had some degree of suffering during hurricane Michael but turtle lake was very good to us. First and foremost, in the aftermath of the disaster all residents had rent waved for 3 months, because of that we had time to look for new jobs, pay all our overdue bills and we were able to do Christmas which was a HUGE blessing. Second, the staff has always been nothing but kind and understanding and bend over backwards to meet any requests we have. Unfortunately, maintenance is very understaffed but such can't be helped considering the situation and isn't permanent and will be remedied with due time. Even considering such they work as fast as possible. lastly, the community and residents mostly keep to themselves and are quiet. The only negative thing I can say about turtle lake is the pest control company they hire (Brock) isn't worth the spare change I'm required to throw their way every month. I was also sad to see all the beautiful trees that survived get cut down. This was the first apartment my boyfriend and I have ever lived in together but we were well taken care of. I can only hope that our next apartment complex out of state will be even half as good. And I can assure you that once all the repairs are done they are going to be beautiful.
Property Manager at Turtle Lake, Responded To This Review
Dear Anonymous, We appreciate your feedback! The devastation caused by Hurricane Michael has been extremely difficult for everyone in our area. We are glad that we could help our residents when they needed it the most. We will continue to make the needed repairs to our community and are looking for additional staffing in our maintenance department. We will share the thoughts about the pest control service to see where we can make improvements. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Let us know if your plans change and you decide to relocate to Panama City in the future. We would love to have you back with us. Sincerely, Shalonda Community Manager
I have been dealing with an ongoing roach problem for over 8 months now which the management has been informed ever since July of 2017 it's now February of 2018 and the management refuses to do anything about this. The first year no signs of any roaches when I got new neighbors the issue began and it has yet to be resolved.
The staff will tell change paperwork on you without telling you and put you in a different apartment than the one they say they show you, but by then you've already signed your lease. Very very sneaky company. It has changed ownership at least twice since I have lived here in 1 year. There are raccoons in the dumpsters at night, ducks poop on your porch, there is trash left out everywhere. Not a clean environment. They just want you to sign that lease. I highly DO NOT recommend. Good luck.
I moved here about a year ago and have really enjoyed it here. The apartment is beautiful and I love the location. It's in the city and close to everything but doesn't have that busy, "city" vibe. The ladies in the office are great and always willing to help and the maintenance staff are friendly and take care of my work orders very quickly. I also really like that I can pay my rent and put maintenance requests in online. I pay all my other bills online and here I can even pay my rent online. All around it's a great place to live! I love it here!!!
I have lived here at Turtle Lake Apartments for over a year now for school. For being nearly directly across the street from Gulf Coast State College, the rent is reasonable. The 2B2B is spacious and well laid out. The walkway in front of the apartments of building D does tend to flood during really rainy days, but it doesn't stand for more than a few hours. Maintenance issues are resolved within the hour usually, the the maintenance guys here are A
Nice complex but does need some updating to impose rent increases.Overall I am happy with the complex.
Location makes in great for those that like to stay in the same neighborhood. You don't have to travel all over town. Plenty of place to shop and eat near by. Takes a while to get any maintenance work done though. Even though some apartments have their own laundry machine hook ups, the general use laundry room is too small and not enough machines for that large of a complex.
My fiance and I Have lived in turtle lake for almost three years and are not planning on moving any time soon. The staff of the complex are friendly prompt and professional. The grounds and pool are always kept neat and well manicured. Overall a wonderful place to live and call home.
All of the residents here are so friendly. We are like a big family. The pool is amazing and it over looks the lake. If there is ever a maintenance issue, they come immediately to address it. Rent is reasonable. It is a quiet community. And we r getting a brand new custom built playground. We just renewed our lease for another year because we love it so much!
I moved here about three years ago, and I never plan on leaving! Turtle lake gives you good value for the price. My grandchildren are able to go to the newly built playground, and enjoy the large pool. I think they love the amenities more than there own home. They host great socializing parties and holiday events such as Easter, where I can meet my neighbors and new people. Thank you turtle lake for providing me a great place to live at a great price!
This is the best, it's the most amazing experience for your family. It's very peaceful and calm. Very nice settings, I love everything about Turtle Lake! Can't wait to become apart of the community!
Excellent service freindly staff, and all issues handled in a timely manner.
I've lived here since November 2012. The office staff is super sweet and helpful. I feel safe living here, and have had little to no issues whatsoever. I can honestly say that for the affordable price, this is the best apartment community I've lived in. Everyone is very nice and helpful, and it's super convenient living here because of it's location.
Beautiful place, well kept up, good location, very friendly and helpful apartment managers, most everything is great, but I think a $100 late fee is a little draconian, and the maintenance staff is not given holidays like Memorial Day and Labor Day off, to my knowledge. Also, having only 6 washers and driers for a 200 unit complex is a problem.
I have lived at Turtle Lake apartments in Panama city Florida for over 3 years and I can say that they have come a long way in improving the living standards of theis apartment complex coupled with a new management team which strives to satiisfy its tenants to the fullest.
