I just can’t wait to move out from here. Summary: Apartment is OK, management is crap. Details: (1) I moved in to a newly renovated apartment, great. However, there are things here and there they did not do a good job. Understandable, too. But it just takes too much to get them to fix it. Everything needs to be chased 3 times (submit request online + going into office) before anything happens. If they can’t fix it on the spot, they will tell you they will come back to it, mark the request complete, and forget about it. So another round of chasing. (2) The internet falls out once every month or so, usually only for a few hours. However, the last incidence internet was spotty for 4 DAYS. Think carefully if you plan to WFH. (3) The management and maintenance HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR HOME. I had a maintenance guy came in to my home without my permission. I FREAKED OUT. (4) They make up “lease violation” terms not listed in the lease and charge you fees. I asked them to reverse the fee, and they eventually did, but only after 3 months, rounds and rounds of angry Emails, and even threaten of going to court. (5) Talking about going to court, turns out I still have to go to court with them. They charge 2 month FORFEIT for terminating early, even though on the lease they make it sound like they only need a 60-day notice. If you are ready to take out precious time and energy to deal with all these crap, Alexandria is still a nice apartment. But I am just too tired, I have more important things in life and I just want peace.

Many many issues! To start, I don’t believe anyone bothered to clean prior to me moving in! So gross. Stains on the carpet in every room- various things. Appliances not in working order, doors not working, fixtures missing. The property has a lot of trash, especially by the doors. People don’t pick up dog poop. They don’t enforce anything if you complain about the neighbors trashing your stuff. Have heard other neighbors with similar complaints. I could not see the apartment prior to move in. Last time I agree to that!!

Poor management examples: 1. Screwed up my (got to know from neighbors that there are multiple people facing this problem) online account & can NO longer pay rent online. It's been 6 months of complaining, writing emails, visiting their office. Officially escalated to management, complained on google review. All I got in return was an acknowledgement after several weeks. 2. It's SUMMER! My air conditioning unit has given up the 4th time today. So many maintenance requests, so many calls to the office.. have had to sleep several nights without any air conditioning but have been paying rent regular on time. for what?? I don't know 3. Today when I went to raise a complain again, the person in the leasing office was happy enough that it's 6:15pm & working hours are over.. he mentioned, we are closed come back @ 6pm.. honestly, who would even do that in this industry??

BE AWARE is completely unbelievable this company, management and customer care disorganization, I have more than 30 days clamoring to return my security deposit and no one answers my claim, I left the apartment 3 months ago and think that I really could not make better decision.

My husband and I have lived in Alexandria for 1 year and every month our bill has been incorrect. More recently, we found out Alexandria would not honor our Lease Agreement. Our lease agreement very clearly states the total sum owed and the schedule of those payments for our lease. We called Alexandria to notify them of yet another billing error and were told they would not correct the bill to adhere to the payments we agreed to in our Lease Agreement contract. They proceeded to tell us it was "human error" on our lease and we would need to pay almost $1500 more than what was in the document. This sum was bolded, underlined, and written in clear English on the very first page of the legally binding Lease Agreement that both parties signed. There was no attempt to resolve this issue or correct their mistake, our only option was to “pursue litigation”. Just keep in mind that when you sign the lease agreement at Alexandria, only one party has to adhere to that contract. To follow-up with this conversation we received our paper bill that was (yet again) incorrect and higher than what the office staff told us it should be over the phone. I can't tell you how many phone calls and visits to the office to correct this issue in a polite way and somehow no one is able to change the bill or give us the correct balance owed back to us. The manager is somehow always busy and unable to speak with us. Reading other reviews, I am comforted to know at least we weren't alone in that. I will say that we have been given back money from incorrect bills from previous high pet fees and wrongly charged cable, but it took a lot of persistence and many months. For a family who lives paycheck to paycheck I could see how that could be a huge financial burden. To say it has been a frustrating experience would be an understatement. For the amount we pay, the customer service and organization needs to be improved. On the upside, I do enjoy Alexandria's pool that is open a lot longer than most complexes. Their gym is convenient and maintenance is great. There are also very nice socials and events they host. We have never had major issues with our unit other than noise of animals barking above because we live in a pet friendly building. All this to say that I don't like to write negative reviews, but feel writing this review is the only way to express our experience.

The front office staff is some of the most unorganized and unprofessional staff I have ever worked with. We have been incorrectly billed extra expenses every single month we have lived here. Getting any errors corrected takes months and numerous phone calls. As I'm writing this, Edward Rose is still holding over $500 of unjustified expenses. Every month for the past 7 months, we have made multiple calls and were promised a correction on our next bill... we have yet to see the correction AND still have the extra expenses on each bill. However, the worst part is definitely the internet. I rely very heavily on the internet for my job and my hobbies. It was my #1 priority when selecting an apartment. I was promised 15 megabytes/second download speed for $50 a month. Rose Connex, a subsidiary of Edward Rose, provides this bundle. This is your only internet option at Alexandria. They said the high cost was justified by exemplary customer service and superior reliability. All things considered, I decided to go with Alexandria.... Imagine my surprise when I moved in and only got 15 megabits/second download speed. Note that 15 megabits/second is only 1/8 of the advertised* 15 megabytes/second. Not only that, but the service is very unreliable. Many weekend nights the speed goes down to 3-5 megabits per second. Over the past month, I have been without internet connection completely for 6 days. Since Alexandria "considers internet outages to be an emergency" and have a 24/7 on call staff to handle these issues, I decided to call in the issue. The on-duty staff's only solution was to "turn the router off and back on"... Something I had obviously already tried. It is not all terrible. The grounds are well kept, maintenance responds quickly, and the units are nice. Yet, abysmal front office management and falsely-advertised internet demand a 1-star review. At this price point in Carmel, you have a lot of great options to choose from. You should expect a higher quality of service. * It is worth noting that their internet package handout has since been corrected to reflect 15 megabit/second speed, but they still have handouts displayed in the clubhouse falsely advertising 15 megabytes/second.

Please keep in mind, if an internet maintenance request is submitted to our front office before 3:00 PM, we will go out to your apartment and troubleshoot any and all internet problems the same day the report is submitted. We are the only community to do this. If you notice any internet issues, please notify us as soon as possible and we will send someone out to troubleshoot the situation. Thank you.
Alexandria is a wonderful apartment complex, for the most part. The apartments are well maintained and the grounds are nice--the pool is beautiful, there is some landscaping, and in the winter the parking lot is really clear. Occasionally the maintenance staff isn't as responsive as I would like them to be, but if you are having any trouble with them and talk to the office staff, they make sure that your problem gets fixed right away. This complex is definitely a little bit quieter than some of the others in the area and attracts a lot of families. It's also close to lots of restaurants and grocery stores and you can quickly drive or bike to downtown Carmel.
I am in the process of moving out of Alexandria currently after a happy two years of living here. If you only look at the base rent these apartments are great. You can't beat the price for this style of apartment community. Clean community, quick maintenance, and generally friendly office staff. However, there is one HUGE drawback to anyone who considers TV/Internet a integral part of a new place. Alexandria only offers TV/Internet through the apartment company and makes you pay way too much for way too little. TV is DISH but you don't get the perks and access of a regular DISH customer. As with any satellite service it goes out constantly during bad weather, which happens often in Indiana. The internet option is even worse. I pay $40/month for 5mbps down/1 mbps up!!! Thats pathetic and expensive. Every 10mbps you want to upgrade will cost you another $20. For comparison purposes: My new service is 15mbps down and 5mbps up for the same price. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time at Alexandria. I gave them four stars. But as a young, technology-reliant professional the tv/internet options really sucked. This could be easily fixed if they just let you shop around but such is life.
