Fort Wayne combines the bustle of a city with the laid-back charm of a small Midwestern town. North Fort Wayne, which incorporates several smaller neighborhoods and an array of parks, sits about two and a half miles north of Fort Wayne’s center. Interstate 69 zips directly through the neighborhood, making it an ideal base for people who need to commute into the city.
Find an apartment available for rent near the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and fuel your children’s need for adventure. At the zoo, kids of all ages can enjoy the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes, a privilege not often found at many other zoos. This zoo also offers five different rides, including the Z.O. & O. Railroad that lets you enjoy the park in its entirety from the comfort of a train.
Coyote Creek Golf Club and Colonial Oaks Golf Club, both of which lie within the confines of the area, give sport-loving locals plenty of room to unwind.

Property Ratings at Dupont Lakes Apartments
Besides the view of the buildings (apartments) that burned down aver a year ago and have yet to be re built, you must deal with mold, drafty windows and very outdated apartments. They have not updated anything in years but still charge what the newer complexes charge. For ugly old shag carpet, outdated vinyl flooring, laminate counters. I had mold and water leaking in my windows. Geese and dog poop everywhere as well. The smell of pot is a common occurrence around the grounds. For the price, go somewhere newer!

The property manager is extremely rude, doesn’t listen to any complaints you may have. The apartments are run down, mold, water leaking in windows. Was told they needed replacement by head maintenance, and they would have someone out. Never did. Definitely in need of updating, nasty carpet throughout, cheap roll out vinyl kitchen floors.
RENTER BEWARE-Absolutely the worst experience I have had in any living situation. If you like living with crack heads above you and management refusing to do anything about then this is the place for you. The plumbing is horrible I went almost a month with running water and it took over a year to correct the water issues to get it functional. There is dog crap all over the grass areas. I had my roof leak sewage from the neighbor upstairs which took over a week to correct. I was told that the carpets where going to be cleaned after that and of course there never were. BTW they didn’t change the carpet out when I moved in there was paint all over it. When you call to have an issue addressed Robin the manger turns it back to you like it is your issue and your are at fault. Place is a joke avoid at all cost.

Very outdated, very drafty windows, old appliances. Dogs are allowed to leave their waste wherever and with so many dogs, it piles up quickly. Cannot walk out your door with out dog piles to greet you. Loud neighbors due to entry stairs next to bedroom. Ponds are disgusting.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with our team. We want your experience as our resident to be awesome, so we would like to address your concerns with upkeep and the quality of our facilities. Will you please call or visit the office to connect soon? We look forward to speaking with you.
The maintenance is always on top of things. As soon as I have an issue, they’re responding. And they are very friendly and willing to help. The apartment itself definitely needs updated. The windows are very drafty, the cabinets are from the 70’s and the beige carpet is hideous. But you get what you pay for. Heat is included, so for the price- it’s clean, quiet and safe. My main concerns.

Relatively quiet area. Front Office staff has been rude on multiple occasions and takes several days to return emails/phone calls. The maintenance staff is extremely helpful and quick. The price is a bit much for how small/basic the apartments are. You are required to use the internet they are in contract with and it is expensive and extremely slow. Overall, It is a nice area and relatively nice/basic apartments, however, the staff/appliances are not up to par with the excessive price.

I do not recommend dealing with them as they are not professional enough When I submitted my application I told them I no not working and my sister is ganna be the co signer. (And paid the co signer fees) And Tiffany told me that no need for a co signer now ,if the credit company asks for a co signer we will submit her info , Then she called me and told me that my application has been declined be cause I did not ask for a co signer It is really funny story
Property Manager at Dupont Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, We are apologize if you felt that you were not treated professionally by the staff at Dupont Lakes. We use a third-party screening service to process all applicants and each applicant is processed in the same manner. A co-signer is only used if the results from our third-party system recommends one. We do not ask for a co-signer until after we screen the potential resident on their own. It is our understanding that you submitted a fee(s) for a co-signer before being asked to do so and we will be refunding you any unnecessary fees that were paid. Sincerely, Dupont Lakes Management
They FORCE you to purchase internet from them and it is constantly down which sucks if you work from home or are a student. The new manager is downright rude. It is cheaper than other nearby complexes but still over priced. The maintenance guys are good and friendly. They try to project some form of upscale community but ride tenants about noise, parking, this that and the other with constant threats. Lots of cars have been broken into so it's not even that safe from small crime. Lots of vertical noise so expect to hear other people's washers and dishwashers, music, showers, and sex. They run fountains in their ponds 24/7 during the nice months so you can't even sit outside to enjoy whatever view you have or sit with your screen door open because they are so loud. People's dogs defecate all over the grass but with all the geese I guess you really can't tell the difference. The pool is often full of kids throwing balls, swinging noodles, or jumping into the pool. I've even seen someone with a giant unicorn inflatable take up a quarter of the pool so don't expect to have any room to just relax and not be bothered. You might as well rent or buy a house with as much as they charge.
I currently live here and wish that I hadn't renewed my lease. Before I even moved in initially, the leasing office lied to me about having an apartment when they didn't. I only got an apartment because someone canceled late. I told them that I wanted to get a cat, but they neglected to tell me that my building was a cat-free building until I was literally signing my lease, so I had no choice but to sign it. I have told management that my neighbors are noisy and obnoxious at all hours of the day, but nothing has been done so far. I told them that I wanted to move into a cat apartment (for which they made me fill out a new app and pay the application fee AGAIN), and now they want to charge me an additional $45/month in rent (that's not including the monthly fee for a cat). This "new" apartment is the exact same as my current one (exact same layout, even on the same floor), just in a new building. I have talked to the leasing office and the regional manager about this, but they would not lower the rate for the "new" apartment to what I am currently paying. It is clear to me that they only care about money and couldn't care less about the residents. I am looking for a new job in a different area and hope that I find one soon so that I can leave these terrible apartments.
I have never been as badly treated as I have been by this apartment complex. I've been living here 3.5 years, and their staff and management is as rude as it gets. No appreciation for loyal tenants, all they care about is squeezing every dime they can out of you. Too bad because the location is great. HORRIBLE place to live...DON'T move here!!
I have been living at Dupont Lakes apts for about 3 years. I really like that its kinda off the beaten path hidden behind a couple of gas stations and a hotel. But just minutes from I69 and all the shopping centers on Dupont rd. Its a really quiet area. I love my 2nd floor apt with a balcony overlooking a little pond. I have never had any problems with my neighbors and maintenance are on top of things. I have a 2 bedroom apt with 2 full bathrooms. I love having a bathroom in my bedroom. The two things I would change about Dupont Lakes ... Having a fitness room and having more lighting on outside of apartment building
DuPont lakes is a nice apartment community. It is very quiet and the location is super convenient. Management has been helpful and maintenance has been very prompt when needed. One complaint would be that prices are slightly higher than some of their competition. A lot is included in the price though.
great place, great location. Close to Interstate, can get anywhere in the city fairly quickly. Grounds and landscaping always kept nice. Beautiful pool and clubhouse you can use for baby showers, bachelorette parties, etc. The staff is very nice and 24 hr emergency service. Lots of parking spaces and carports available at a little extra cost. Love living here.
Very happy in our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 3rd floor apartment. Vaulted ceilings in the living room and floor to ceiling window with skylight at top lets in beautiful, natural sunlight. The complex has covered parking available and a pool. The management and maintenance are very friendly and prompt and helpful. No complaints. Plan to live here for years to come!
