Property Ratings at Northcliffe Forest Apartments
Ive had a great experience living here for the past 8 months! From the beginning to the end the office has been nothing less than attentive and helpful to the fullest. During my stay I have witnessed pest control spraying outside premises, weekly yard work, and even power cleaning of our concrete. Parking is always available. I recommend a unit with washer/dryer included such as I did! I have no complaints to make regarding noise and Im comfortable in the privacy of nature around me. I love that the grocery store is conveniently across the street and the gas station a block away. The city around is lively and friendly. Overall would highly recommend anyone interested in living here to come live here! Im apartment 1302 and it is now available!! Give the office a call and scoop up my unit! The neighbors are the best because its like they dont exist! lol its on the bottom floor and private away from everyone else yet conveniently close to the mail room/pool lounging area/ect. Bye NC & thank you to Northcliffe for being my cozy home away from home! Lucky you to whoever lands Apt. 1302 Its all about location, location, location!
I lived in the community about a year ago and i must say the staff is great and respectful! Very understanding and helpful !
This was my first apartment and the worse decision of my life, the maintenance is awful. I went on vacation, while on vacation my upstairs neighbor had a leak. No one called to tell me anything!!! So when I called they said they would be there the following day. In two hours it had got worse so I made them come that day. Within 4 days I had a constant waterfall coming from my bedroom ceiling. The maintenance man told me he didn’t know what the problem was and he didn’t know how to fix it. I asked them to move me apartments because I have a dog and my boyfriend has asthma and they refused. I also had mold growing in my living room and all they did was spray stain remover!!! I now have a mold spot, water damage and a leak. The maintenance man also told me the plumbing when the apartments were build was not done correctly and they cut MAJOR corners just to get tenants in as soon as possible!!! So they’re clearly aware of the problems they just don’t care. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BE A LAST RESORT!!!
The water line burst above us and the proper action was not taken and instead they painted over the ruined ceiling and called it a day. Two weeks later we had mold growing, they then blamed us and said it was our negligence and refused to fix anything.
I hated this place and everything about it. So glad I moved
I’ve lived here three years and had 3 different management companies that are all unprofessional. They hide the flaws of the apartments instead of fixing them. I recommended some friends here and they ended up having several issues so they moved out. It’s a decent place for a college student or a person on a tight budget but I definitely don’t recommend it. Happy to say I’m moving soon!
The apartment is not worth the price. Don’t be fooled by the new paint job. The apartments have lots of issues that maintenance doesn’t fix or will cover up with paint. Maintenance is very unprofessional and will leave their stuff in your apartment and will leave your lights on when they leave. This apartment complex had a rodent issue that is not addressed properly. The front office staff is very very unprofessional. They don’t care about your concerns and aren’t helpful at all. Packages have been lost when delivered to the front office. They raise the cost to live there without notice until you are hit with a late fee for charges you didn’t agree to.
I’m glad these other people have had great experiences here but mine has not been so great. my air conditioning has been broken off and on for the last year and the unresponsiveness of the office has been disappointing. They are rude and basically call you a liar to your face. My car has been broken into and someone tried to steal the wheels off of it right in the parking lot. They have NO cameras so there’s nothing anyone can do. I do however like the area in town and my apartment itself, my neighbors, and their pet policy. As long as I don’t have to deal with the office staff and everything in my apartment is in working order I enjoy ashton Oaks’s
New Management has taken over the complex and the apartment is starting to look better on the outside but the apartments aren’t so great in the inside. The staff in the front seem like they do not know what they’re doing. I believe that they hire temps because every time I walk in there it is someone new which is not good. Maintenance takes forever to come and fix something. The Manager Randy is rude. He talks over you and I can tell he throws his authority around. I have been in this apartment complex for 2 years and I plan to leave next year ASAP. I only recommend living here if you are in desperate need of a place to stay.
Ashton oaks apartments are not a good community to move in to i have not seen improvement sense the new company has taken over the manager is rude i have not got anything in my apartment fixed i asked for its been a few days but they dont seem to not no anything ive been hear sense the age of 21 im 32 now this is the worst ive seen it
I’ve lived here 4 years now trying to improve my credit so I purchase a hone. The office personnel are extremely rude, they never answer the phones and when you walk in they treat you like they are so busy that you are wasting their time. When you let them know about any maintenance issue you have it never gets fixed. I’ve had a sink in one of my bathrooms that water won’t come out and it’s been like this for two years now. You get charged an extra fee for trash that you aren’t told at time of leasing but when you visit the trash dumpster to put your bags in, it’s always over flowing where at times the bags fall out. If your going to charge a trash fee the least you can do is actually get it thrown out of the property. It’s bad enough the dumpster the size of an 18 wheeler is sitting close to the apartments entrance. When you pull into the property you will always see trash in the ground throughout the whole place, whether it’s KFC left overs or Bojangles chicken, sometimes empty beer cans on the grass or dirty used diapers. If the residents are trashing up the place like that it’s most likely they are pissed at the way management is treating their needs and this is just pay back. Recently a new company just purchased the place. They left news letter on residents doors saying about how happy they are and some new upgrades they are doing to the property. So far nothing has changed and the trash problem still persists. At night some of the buildings safety lights aren’t even working so safety is out the window. When you visit the new improved laundry facility and you select to wash your clothes in hot water, the cheap management has connected the units where only cold water comes out so they can save on electricity. The mailroom is always full of junk mail all over the floor because the one trash can they provide is never emptied so residents just throw the junk on the floor and of course the apartment management isn’t going to pick that up. The nicest thing in the whole complex is the office inside, very clean and with ceiling fans and new carpet but when you visit the units they aren’t at all like that. When you ask they say we are in the process of renovation. Yeah, four years in the making lol.
This place is impossible to get a hold of. I would love to move in but don't currently live in the area so I need to talk to them over the phone or over email but for 3 days they haven't answered the phone when the office is open, their voicemail is full, sending a message through here only gets an automated response that you apparently cant reply to and I've tried emailing two different people directly but neither of them will get back to me. Very frustrating experience.
I’ve been in Ashton oaks for almost a year now and I absolutely love it! Jasmine and Hannah are great! Both are friendly and ready to answer and questions I have had. I just wish people would stop speeding in the complex and visitors would park in the visitors parking area.
I’ve only been living here a week and three days and have had to call repeatedly to have small stuff fixed that should have been repaired long before I moved in.Which has yet been repaired! I’m puzzled as to why companies expect you to pay for inadequate service. I will definitely be looking for another place to stay. If you are looking for a fixer upper that you’ll never own this is the place to be!
These are the WORST apartments in Winston Salem, NC !!! PLEASE don’t move into these apartments they/you will waste your money & time. This community will move you into an apartment that’s not even move in ready nor habitable for you to live in. The ladies at the office (Hannah, Jasmin & Betty) well not really sure if they are ladies because they act like children , they will hang up the phone when you’re trying to speak or they will speak over you when you’re trying to explain your issue with the apartments. Even if your not being direspestful they will be plain ole direspestful to YOU. This move was a quick decision for me and I regret every decision I ever made !!!
This place is a joke. I wished I would have listened to the reviews and avoided this place all together I've been here for a year now and the only upside is a roof over my head. Whoever wrote the review on 12/19/17 titled "Ashton Oaks is the BEST" obviously works in the office or for the company. Everything stated in that review is the exact opposite. The ladies in the office are nice when talking to you on the phone, but fail to actually get anything done. They definitely use caller ID to their advantage. The property manager is not friendly. Scheduling a meeting with her is like trying to schedule a meeting with the Pope. And when you want to talk to the person in charge of her, none of them can seem to find his contact info. Several other tenants all have the same scope of problems and complaints. Work orders do not get taken care of, leading to the issues getting worse. Code inspectors from the city make regular visits. Kids can't play in the grass areas because of all the dog poop and lots of people here own Pitbulls and other breeds that are on the restricted dog list. On the seldom occasion a work order is completed, the maintenance crew never leaves any indication that they were in your apartment other than the trash they make while working. During a showing, you get taken into an "upgraded" unit but move in to a unit that is a far cry from being at all "upgraded". There is one single trash collection for the entire complex and it is always piled a mile high and falls into the driveway, even though you are charged an extra $15 per month for trash pickup. If you don't have a new HVAC system prepare to pay a power bill fit for a 5 bedroom house. I could write a short story talking about all of the things that are wrong with this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone
Girls in the office do the bare manimum, they could careless if your apartment has issues. The apartment staff lack professionalism. I’ve been here for almost a year and whenever I have an issue it takes maintenance weeks to come and fix something. I know several people that stay in here as well that are unhappy. It’s afforfable but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to live here unless it’s your last resort.
I love living here...The people at the office are very nice and sweer...they work with u...they are very respectful...Hannah is very good ...she is real sweet...Jasmine is very good also...and Mrs. Betty is the BEST also...i would recommend ANYBODY to live here...the maintenance is very good also...they come when they are suppose to...i love this place so much...IM NOT GOING ANYWHERE..THEY ALL DO AN AWESOME JOB...SO IF U LOOKING FOR SOMEWHERE TO MOVE...CHOOSE ASHTON OAKS APARTMENTS..
I wouldn't recommend these apartments to anyone , I lived in Ashton Oaks for only a year and since I moved in my apartment wasn't finished on time , I didn't have any base boards in my apartment. The AC unit did not work the entire time I lived there. Mold grew from out of the carpet and walls of my room closet and bathroom closet that they never came and put a door on for smh , The maintenance people didn't do anything about the mold they just put paint primer on top . Its just not a good place to live . I Wasted my money and was very much dissatisfied with the apartments.
Appliances are not new, only in a certain models. Not all of the apartments have washer and dryer hook up. You don't have assigned parking at all. Place is decent for a first apartment but you can find better for the price. Trash is always piled up high, it takes them forever to come and get it. Also, I've been here for a few months and I still don't have a mailbox key. Crazy right? Mail is important. You have to stay on top of Ashton Oaks to get anything done. Not to mention, I know a few other people that live in here with no AC and leaks. It's very clear that they don't check their apartments before moving someone in them. I'm only staying here because of my budget as a student. Don't move here unless it's your only option.
I have lived here a year now and everything has gone wrong. The leasing office changes management teams every three months. There is only one dumpster for the entire community and is often over flowing. The maintenance men often have no clue what they are doing yet continue to "fix". My air conditioning has leaked since day one and hasn't been inspected since 2013. The out dated appliances coupled with high prices make this apartment complex horrible. And the cherry on top the pool doesn't work and hasn't for years. Don't move in the management teams are always behind on bills so the grass is often too high and as I said everything is always broken.do
