Property Ratings at Autumn Woods
Not what it looks like. These pictures are not even correct. Most still have carpeting. These places are built so cheap. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. Even two apartments down. It’s a joke. The old owners were horrible and the new ones are just as bad. Do not recommend!
Overall a nice place to live. Thankfully had quiet neighbors. Often when requiring maintenance to our unit, it was not fixed and there was no follow up. The AC/Heat unit is extremely loud in Unit. Some of the office workers were unhelpful, disrespectful, and rude, specifically when speaking over the phone. I always made sure to go down and ask questions if I could. Wish there was way to make online payments. Bonus was having cable included. During the winter, roads were not plowed until later on in the day and frequently iced over, making it dangerous to walk to even take the garbage out or get your mail.
02-10-20 / We have been living here at Autumn Woods for 4-5 years now and absolutely enjoy it out here. Love the location, setup of our apt., and neighbors. We’ve had neighbors come and go on each side of us and above us but that is to be expected. People have bought homes or moved out state. Or some people you can never ever please. If we had an issue Maintenance, they have always been here next day and they are very kind, professional and their work is Great. We’ve met almost the entire maintenance team and each one is very professional and kind. My husband hired maintenance to hang up our curtain rods and he did a fantastic, quick and professional job. Wow! We THANK OUR MAINTENANCE TEAM FOR THEIR FAITHFUL PLOWING of our car parking areas. This winter twice our MAINTENANCE TEAM came to PLOW the SNOW and I quickly put on my winter duds and called the office to see if the SNOWPLOW TEAM was going to come back because I was getting ready to move my car. The office said yes, they will be back. Also, I asked to park our car in the Office parking lot and they said “yes!” So, our car spent the day at the office until the SNOW PLOW TEAM came back to plow our driveways, since we missed their morning SNOW PLOWING! If I ever see a job opening in that office I want to work, there. THANK YOU TO OUR MAINTENANCE HARD WORKING TEAM! “Audra Lane Resident!”
I have two good things to say about Autumn Woods - one for each star: 1. It is, unfortunately, the actual best Brockport has to offer. 2. They evict the worst tenants (as in the coke-dealing, party-having, objectively bad neighbors). We were the first renters of our brand new apartment and we immediately experienced problems. Most of the time we lived with invasive giant ants. The features were not built for full grown adults, such as sufficient hot water for a whole person's 7-minute shower, or carpet that doesn't form a rut after 2 months of habitation. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors say and do. Even normal conversation levels will carry through the wall. You will be intimately involved with your neighbors, without choice. You will even know their waste habits because the dumpsters overflow often, it becomes everyone's business. Speaking of neighbors, no one will clean up after their own animal. Be aware of that if you have kids you think will want to play in the grass. Community staff. One of the times maintenance was in our apartment, they shattered a family heirloom and tried to hide it. We discovered broken glass and, only when confronted, did they own up to it. These apartments are only 'good' relative to the other options you have in Brockport where tenants go after they get evicted from Autum Woods.
It has been almost two weeks now since I put a deposit and application in at these apts and every time I've called to check up the office tells me oh we'll get back to you by the end of the day I just called them and they said oh we are just waiting on the terms can i call you back in one minute I said fine they apparently didnt care to do their job as I was sitting in the parking lot because if I didn't get approved i was going to pick up my deposit and not two minutes after they told me they would call me back they were walking out and locking up the office this is the rudest most disrespectful thing I have ever dealt with will not be moving in even if I'm approved that's for sure
These apartments look very nice on the outside, and that's about it. I lived here for a year and just moved out a month ago, and we couldn't get out fast enough. I lived in one of the first buildings ever built, and it was cheaply put together. We had bulbs blowing CONSTANTLY. They would go out for a few days and then flicker back on by themselves. Obviously a wiring issue but maintenance blamed "old bulbs." Our refrigerator door handle broke off 3 times in 12 months, with nothing more than normal use. Handles on cabinet doors came off frequently. The walls are incredibly thin. You can hear your neighbors have full on conversations, their TV's, their children crying; it is impossible to have any quiet. The office staff is incredibly rude and condescending no matter the topic you have to deal with them on. When we moved in, our garbage disposal was broken. I emailed for maintenance and when they came, they said nothing was wrong and it was just "noisy." During our move out walk through, they tried to charge us $100 for a broken disposal. We had a huge snowstorm winter of 2016, and it took two days until they came to plow our road, and some of our neighbors couldn't get into their driveway because of the snow piles left from the sloppy plow job. We brought a puppy to our apartment a few months into our lease. The woman in the office told us she needed a photo of the dog, and vaccination records. When it came time to move out, 8 months later, they tried to charge us $25 for each month because they didn't have a dog license on file. Nobody ever told us we needed a dog license. My puppy had a bout of diarrhea when I took him out for a walk. It was impossible to pick up a completely liquid poop. Shortly after this, I received a notice on my door saying a member of their staff "witnessed" me not clean up after my dog and I would receive a $25 fee any time after that. I felt like I was being watched. Before we moved out, we used a carpet cleaner 2 times in the entire apartment. AFTER we moved out, they sent us a bill for $130 for a "animal urine stain" on the carpet. I am 100% sure there were no stains, as my dog was house broken and we cleaned the carpets ourselves. The employees and owners of Autumn Woods do not care about your quality of living, customer service, or anything that has to do with "luxury living." They threw these apartments together as cheap as possible, and try to charge you for ANYTHING they can. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.
This is the first time in my life that I have ever felt this strongly compelled to write an online review to save other people the grief of what I had to go through. The owners of Autumn Woods are scam-artists. You do not want to live there if you have children as there is nowhere for them to play and they are yelled at if they try to use any outdoor area within the complex. They try to charge tenants for normal wear and tear of their apartments so they never have to replace anything and the appliances and carpeting are the cheapest you can buy. They basically steal from their tenants by making them pay for things when they break so they never have to replace anything themselves. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and it was the worst year of my life. I am so much happier now. Please, if you usually do not listen to online reviews, listen to this one and do not rent from these people. I didn't listen and I wish I would have.
Warning!! If you are looking for a place to rent in Brockport DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT go to Autumn Woods "Luxury" Apartments. They are the most unprofessional, rude and dishonest around. So many missed commitments to the tenants, the harassment of my kids playing outside, it is not a kid friendly environment as they claim. They told my neighbour it was 55 and over which caused problems for those of us with children in the building. When I moved into the apartment, I had to give a $300 dollar non refundable deposit for cosmetics such as painting and carpet cleaning/replacement if needed. I moved out the beginning of March and shortly after the harassment started. Claims that I left the apartment $2902.00 dollars filthy, damaged, etc. I have pictures to prove that I did not leave the apartment filthy or damaged as they claimed. I asked them to provide proof on SEVERAL occasions I was hit with endless excuses and up to this point have not received anything and we are in June. I want to know has this happened to you or someone you know? How have you dealt with this situation? We need to help other avoid this place.
This move to this great complex has been a wise transition from my home of 35 years. I moved in 6 months ago and don't miss my home at all. I am loving my new 3 bedroom home. I looked around the area and this was the best for the money. The staff in the main office was very accommodating in my move. While here, the staff is always very helpful and the maintenance staff is super. I have put in work requests and within a day, service. Have enjoyed the pool this summer and the staff there super too. I would recommend this complex to anyone that is looking. No Maintenance to be done outside. Everything is done for you. Take a chance and visit/ move, you won't be disappointed.
Nobody told me I'd be living at a construction zone from 7 am to 5 pm. That's hammers would be my alarm and I'd struggle to get into my drive way. I love the apartment, and in a year or two I'm sure it will be perfect, but zero warning or consideration by the staff to tell you about this before you moved in, especially because they showed you an open one in the front and you didn't even know the construction was going on. For the beautiful place I live in, I would have expected better surroundings, or atleast them to acknowledge the residents and not start at 7 am if not earlier... Even 8 am would be fine ..lol. -_-
Nice and new homes. There are a lot of kids and it is a little loud in the summer time.
