Because Sherwood Forest sits within the larger neighborhood of Broadmoor, the area is often referred to together. Sherwood Forest is located between Florida Boulevard and I-12 on the southeast side of Downtown Baton Rouge. This neighborhood extends roughly from Sharp Road east to Flannery Road. It is a very close-knit residential neighborhood complete with a Citizen's Association that organizes community events, including cleanup days and neighborhood garage sales.
Defined by large trees, expansive lawns, and wide sidewalks, Sherwood Forest feels very much like a suburban community. But residents can easily reach downtown in less than 15 minutes, and Louisiana State University is just eight miles from the neighborhood. The North Sherwood Forest Community Park provides residents with 13 acres of green space and includes a walking track, a playground, picnic areas, and a fitness center.

Property Ratings at Canterbury House Apartments - Baton Rouge
I’m currently being charged for fees that have already been paid, like my deposit. This was paid in December of 2022. I wouldn’t have been able to live here if I hadn’t paid the deposit. Yet, every month I’m being charged this and other fees. I can’t just pay my monthly rent because their payment system requires payment for all fees. The front office staff have not been helpful at all. I’ve been forced to contact headquarters and hopefully they can resolve this issue.

The leasing office service is terrible , the entire way this apartment complex is operated is terrible. RENT is significantly high and you pay for any utilities you posses meaning you pay for water, lights, and any other utilities you might need to live life comfortably from your own home. During HURRICANE IDA , they attempted to evict us and our newborn daughter out of our apartment because the shingles were blew off the roof and was raining on all of our child’s belongings she received from her gender reveal and baby shower, so we refuse to pay rent until our apartment was inhabitable again. We were using our last dollar to buy food and hotels and if it wasn’t for donations from multiple family members we wouldn’t have an apartment. They lied about the potholes I have multiple tire scratches on my tire due to a pot hole the size of a kitty pool in the middle of the parking lot . Our air has been off for almost two weeks and we can’t get In touch with the maintenance men nor leasing office. The apartments across the street offer the same amount of rent , you only pay for lights, the community better and the leasing agents on scenes are very respectful. Wish I wouldn’t have been fooled by the fake persona they introduced themselves with, because I wouldn’t have moved here .

Been here for at least 8 years things barley get fixed the apartments look terrible and don’t let me mention all the pot holes in the back of them that have been there almost 2 years that they don’t attempt to fix rent is too high for these apartments to be run down into the dirt like this just don’t move here would be my best advice to you

Canterbury House Apartments is happy to have you as a resident for 8 years. We are actively working on projects to improve the property including the repairs to the driveways, new seal coat, and striping. Our intention was to begin the parking lot and driveway repairs this week, but tropical storm Marco and hurricane Laura have other plans. We will notify residents again when that work will begin. We are working hard to resolve all maintenance requests in a timely manner and appreciate your patience during this time.
