Property Ratings at Capitol Park Plaza And Twins
you want a maintenance department that ignores your requests for days so that the issue stretches into weeks, hangs up on you when you call, then completely dismisses you when they do show up two weeks later? live here! horrifically bad maintenance team.

Pros: Affordable rent options for folks who make below a certain annual amount, clean pool, lots of trees in courtyard, spacious floor plans, large balconies. The gym has basic weightlifting equipment (but they always get stolen), elliptical, treadmill and bike options (once broken it takes months to fix); there is no AC, only ceiling fans. The AC issue “can’t be fixed”. Most office staff are very nice and helpful; management has always been nice as well - though any time there was a concern (like a package being stolen) no action was taken. Cons: You hear any and ALL internal construction and noise within a few floors of you. -- Yes, you read that right, a few floors. -- They put in new parquet floors every time a resident moves out, so if someone moves onto the same floor as you (or within two floors above you), you will hear it and it will sound like it's happening inside of your apartment. The office does not provide ANY warning for this intrusion and if you call to ask what is happening, they often don't even know that contractors are in the building working. (And it's a gated community – haha!) Construction lasts from 9am-6pm, so if you work from home or work nights, you're screwed. If you do either of those, I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere. In general, you will hear all your same-floor neighbors and all the neighbors above you. Shouting, laughing, barking from pets, walking, phone calls – all of it. Any hammering, rearranging furniture – all of it. You hear everything in the hallway since the front doors are so permeable. Maintenance isn’t great. I had tickets get “lost” (even though I called them in) and terrible customer service. I had things that needed to be fixed in my apartment for years which never got fixed - even after multiple complaints. Water gets shut off once or twice a month. Very common to see leaking pipes on the lobby floor or from one of the overhangs. Fire alarm goes off a couple times a month with no warning. 95% of residents ignore it. But there have been two fires in two years, so use your best judgement.

Cons: The building has zero security and anyone can get in. The gates are constantly broken and management is never in a rush to fix them or notify residents that they are broken. Most of the building is in need of major renovation. Pros: The maintenance team is amazing and always fix things in a timely manner. The units are large and wood floors are beautiful. However, make sure, if you sign lease, that you are NOT getting an "efficiency unit". They are 1/4 smaller than their average studios but cost the same amount. I stay because the location is amazing and the building still has some life in it. If you are on the fence, definitely take a tour and see if it's a fit for you.

Crime-ridden, dirty, security just for show, water shut offs every week, rude management, can hear the highway literally nonstop, constantly smelled like marijuana, laundry machines rarely work and are contaminated. Absolutely every single package I had delivered there was stolen. Once, a package was stolen within 15 minutes of delivery. Management doesn't care and refuses to install security cameras to hallways. When I was moving out, multiple people stopped me and said "good for you for getting out" and "yeah, this place really sucks doesn't it?" That's how bad it is.

I needed to re certify my lease for next year and my lease is about to end in a month .I suffered through with my child in a small studio apartment with no space for us for a year ,called the office like the letter told me since I am a month away from my lease ending was told someone would call me back and they never did ,they were good about emailing back but that doesn't happen either , so what will me and my child do and its time to renew is the question. also I have experienced property theft of clothing in the washer room they have cameras but what good are they. It could be a affordable place to live but it has its flaws.

We are moving out after living here for almost 3 years. When we moved in we had horrible luck with the leasing agent Erica. She lost some of our paperwork and told us 3 months after we moved in so we had to fill it all out again. They used to have 24 hour security but now you are lucky if you can find them during the day or night. You can call for security at night if you need them but good luck ever getting a hold of someone. It's best to go look for them unless you are trying to be discreet. The last straw for us was watching multiple apartments get raided and people taken away in cuffs to find them still living here months later. They have people that are not supposed to be allowed in the buildings that are constantly in the buildings causing trouble. It is cheaper to live here but you end up with a small outdated kitchen and bathroom.

Convenient location, but the building is dated. The apartments and neighbors are nice.
