Property Ratings at Cedar Heights
I have been here a number of years and this place has got progressively worse. Management is uncaring and unresponsive. I have tried to go up the chain, but get the run-around. It is impossible to talk with off-cite management. The only redeemable quality of this place is the maintenance team is outstanding. Too bad that doesn't make up for the out dismissive and insulting the office staff and Hunt Pacific management are. Had I known how bad this place was to become, I never would have moved here.
Property Manager at Cedar Heights, Responded To This Review
We sincerely apologize for your recent experience. We understand your frustration and are taking your feedback seriously. We made several attempts to reach out over the holidays, but understand how this time of year can be a bit overwhelming. We would like to ensure that you are heard and would invite you to stop by or give us a call to discuss things further and look for a solution.
They only care what the lease says when it suits them. If you want them to honor their side of it, they will tell you to get a lawyer, and then they will harass you with superfluous entries for which they seem literally incapable of providing 48 hour notice. They will raise your rent within days of receiving a pointed question. Besides that, the units are drafty, noisy, bugs get in easily -- you will literally feel a breeze in your apartment --and parking is absurdly inadequate. The location is also not ideal. You will drive past a large used car lot that parks disabled cars along the side of the right next to the complex' entrance. You can find something far better for the money. There's really nothing good to say. Don't move here.
I wish I was writing this review with 5 stars, but as I expected, the move out process at this apartment has been nothing short of unacceptable. Not only was I told information that I am now finding out was a lie, but I am now being charged for something that I was told was going to be taken care of by the deposit I paid. I would never recommend anyone I care about to rent from these people. When I originally came in to get our notice to vacate form that they required we fill out, they kept trying to sweet talk me into staying and moving into one of their "newly renovated" units. I explained that we were growing as family needed a bigger place. I was then approached by a man, who at this point I am not even sure who he is as I don't understand how someone of authority could tell me what he did, and was told that as long as "you didn't punch any holes in your walls, I will make sure that you get your full deposit back". I was also told that all of the units were being completely renovated. This, to me, was a very nice gesture and made me feel very well taken care of as a tenant who is leaving and lets be honest, these kinds of companies are always trying to avoid paying out whatever they can, right? That was the last interaction that we had together, except for when they sent me an email asking to look at the unit to do a "pre-move out" inspection and gather measurements for their remodel, as I was previously told from my in office visit. I was currently moving so I got back to them a couple of days later and advised them to go ahead and do what they needed to do. That was the last bit of communication we had until the day our keys were due - fast forward to today, and the bill we just were notified that we have to pay to replace carpets that, from what I was told previously, were going to be replaced anyways! But now we are on the hook for it so not only was I lied to about getting my deposit back, now they are milking me for more money, which I guess I should have expected from all of the other things I had heard about this company. You hear things and want to give people the benefit of the doubt but believe me when I tell you to stay far away from this company and believe what you hear. Unrelated to this incident, but also if you have more than one car, you will be scavenging for parking every single day as more and more parking spots become unavailable, what feels like, on a weekly basis.
Worst place to live . No enough parking . Doesnt have a parking spot . Been living here for 2 yrs and still they are sorry for it . The chimney have been leaking for years .
I was skeptical when I first saw the apartment because the appliances seemed really old, but the price was worth it. I had a rough experience with a deal coming up and the apartment that I saw got sold immediately and the same apartment layout and size all of a sudden became available... But it cost more...When I looked at the second apartment, The appliances were the same but the apartment was much nicer. It was on the second floor and had an amazing view, and didn't have this bad paint on the walls. There are a few touches that need to be made but it's a great bang for the buck. 2 weeks into moving in, they gave us new fridges and they're great! but no more ice maker... The Maintenance guy is great! and funny. Really fast service. The hot tub is awesome and I haven't been able to use the seasonal pool. but it looks nice. Fireplace is great as well. It's a cozy apartment and it still feels spacious. The gym needs free weight's and an update to the equipment. the cardio equipment is fine. It's the other 'all purpose' machine that needs to be updated. It works, but it has its characteristics. The walls in the apartment seem pretty thick too. I don't have a problem with noise. I can barely hear a new born crying at night when there is no other sound. However, a friend of mine and his wife have another issue. There is a dog with an obnoxious owner who plays with the dog back and forth in her apartment so you can hear the dog running until 2am and when the owner leaves without her dog, the dog becomes an angry Chihuahua that never shuts up. I love dogs, but that is ridiculous.
