Property Ratings at Cedar Point
I lived at Cedar Point from July 2021 to November 2022. The first apartment I was in was on the ground floor and flooded with backed up sewer water 3 different times. I was told that I "should expect flooding in a ground floor apartment." The second time it flooded, everything I owned was ruined and I had to move into a hotel for 10 days while they had someone rip up all the floors and replace them. During the time spent in the hotel, I still had to pay rent! I asked to be transferred to another apartment and there was a 3rd flood on my moving day. They raised my rent for the 3rd floor apartment they moved me to because it was "market value" at the time, so my rent increased, and the 3rd floor apartment was so hot in the summertime that I continuously called maintenance, who told me to "expect it to be hot in a 3rd floor apartment." One of the maintenance guys finally told me the fans in the attic needed to be replaced but they weren't going to do it anytime soon. I also paid a $400 deposit fee when I moved in, and $20 extra a month for my 2 cats; however, when I moved out, they charged me $150 for pet damage, telling me the pet deposit and extra rent money had nothing to do with that. Finally, I got my final bill from them (not for rent, that was paid up), a couple of weeks ago. After 14 days, they had sent it to collections! This is the most expensive slum I've ever lived in. Do NOT recommend!
I say it all the time, if I could pick up our apartment and move it to a piece of land I would. We are signing our 3 lease this month and we do not want to leave at this time. I would recommend this place to anyone. This has been our favorite apartment in Roanoke.

My family lived here for about three months while we were selling our old house and buying a new one. The staff is highly unprofessional and rude. I feel like whoever does the hiring is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. When we raised a concern about the smell of marijuana that was coming from the adjacent apartment through a hole under the sink, the management basically told us we were on our own. The apartments are also old and and dinghy. Unfortunately since we only needed a short term lease, we didn’t have many options. Living there even a few months was a highly negative experience for my family.

I've lived at this apartment complex for almost 2 years. I have complained multiple times about pot smoke in my apartment coming from someone else. The office says there's nothing they can do about it and that I should just call the police. The police say they are unable to do anything because it's private property. Drug use is not allowed per the lease agreement. They are unable to enforce their own lease agreement. They do not care about the residents that live here. I would not recommend living here.

Cedar Point Apartments really tries hard. It doesn't go unnoticed. My wife and I moved in a few days ago and loved it. I moved in sight unseen and was happy with it until I smelled an odd smell. We don't like animal smells and the leasing office did not have an animal on record for our apartment in the past. We persisted and they had the carpet shampooed shortly after the email. The smell was still there and I felt bad for pestering them. We finally figured out that we were smelling particles from the door. They replaced the doors with brand new ones and the issue was solved. Thank you so much for fixing this. The maintenance staff and the carpet contractors did a wonderful job!!!! We can't thank you enough. I know it seems small but it means a lot. When I first moved here, another resident mentioned how great you guys were at management and fixing maintenance issues. I totally agree with him. We feel more at home already. All levels of the management staff: I tip my hat to you for your professionalism through this process and humoring me. It means a lot that you weren't dismissive.
