By far one of the prettiest college towns in the country, Bowling Green offers a picture-perfect downtown, complete with beautiful historic architecture, brick-paved walkways, planters filled with colorful flowers, period lighting, the prerequisite art-deco movie theater, and even a lively mural or two. Bowling Green is home to Bowling Green State University, one of the country's top-ranking universities. It is located about 22 miles south of Toledo and about two hours west of Cleveland.
The city's parks include the Black Swamp Preserve, a park that reflects the city's beginnings as part of the Great Black Swamp that once covered much of Northwestern Ohio. Wintergarden Woods, another terrific park, offers hiking, wildlife viewing, and a nature center. During winter, Conneaut Haskins Park is popular for its sledding hill, one of the largest in the city.
First settled in 1832, Bowling Green began as a small farming community.

Property Ratings at Copper Beech Bowling Green
I moved in to Copper Beech in 2021 and just moved out in June of 2024. First of all the maintenance is extremely sexist and condescending and it always took them at least two tries to fix whatever the issue is. One time I fixed the leaky sink myself because I said it was leaking and maintenance came in and “unclogged” it. Next they just recently made it so that you cant do your electric bill through the electric company it has to be through Copper Beech and every since it has been double what it was before. They do not communicate well and give less than 24 hour notice before doing inspections. Lastly when I moved out I had to find someone to delegate my lease and I was told it would only be $200 to get out of my lease and then they charged me $600 out of the blue with no warning. The space itself is good but the company will do anything and everything to take your money. Also all the appliances, the showers, the back deck and the ceilings were falling apart.
A year and a half after we moved out we received a letter from a collections company saying we owed over a grand. They had no proof of any damages and had no record of contacting us with a bill prior to sending us to collections. Any time we contacted them asking for proof they had nothing. After obtaining a lawyer it was finally dropped. But management is terrible, no one knows what they are doing there.
A lot of space but management is horrible and they lie. When it comes to giving deposits back, they lie and rob people of their money. I had a pet, which was 4 years old and potty trained and all. When moving out, we cleaned the floors and they still charged us saying it wasn’t done. Also charged me in my room saying due to pet when the floor was cleaned professionally. They robbed me completely on my pet security deposit which was $300 and the $199 deposit too and made up little reason saying paint needed to be touched up and all these little things they are automatically supposed to do anyways when new people move in. The electric bill there got super high during the winter because their windows aren’t sealed and cold air comes through he windows even when locked. Seemed like our water bill got higher each time, but we did laundry the same way since moving in. They claim they come in and read the meters but they just get over on so many people and it’s not worth the pay. Horrible place to live in BG and wouldn’t recommend. They’ had so many lawsuits against them and I should have did better research before moving into this horrible place
Copper Beech continuously added hidden fees throughout the year. It feels like every month they add a new fee I have to pay that I didn't before. One that made me more irate than the others was the water bill. They ESTIMATE how much water you use and refuse to actually read the meter. We had one person living in the four person apartment over summer. The bill increased by 25% because it was the "estimated" water usage. How can we use 25% MORE water if we have 75% LESS people living there?! After calling and discussing the situation, Copper Beech said there was nothing they could do. They would not read the meter and make the matter right. Rent seems cheap compared to other places until all of the hidden fees get tacked on. BEWARE!! Recommended to live somewhere else that is honest and does not take advantage of its tenants.
They have awful management. They are essentially non-existent. You are never able to talk to a manager. Instead, you must work with a desk clerk who knows nothing. Worst apartment complex in BG; I can guarantee that.
Most appartments have it so that the rent is listed as the monthly payment for the whole appartment. This has it listed as the individual rent you would be paying for. Just an FYI..
TONS of space!! The layout of the apartment fantastic, but the parking lots of the complex can be confusing for visitors. The staff in the office is always very friendly and helpful and the maintenance crew is even more friendly! Reasonable pricing and great location for BGSU students, as well as anyone who wants to live in Bowling Green. There is a shuttle service to the campus for students, as well. The buildings themselves have small issues here and there, but no major problems, not too run down, very comfortable.
