Property Ratings at DRAYTON MILLS-NATIONALLY AWARDED
From the moment I arrived at Drayton Mills Lofts, I knew I had found a gem in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Having moved from Manhattan, I sought a place that combined charm with luxury, and Drayton Mills Lofts exceeded these expectations. The heart of this community is Kristen, my leasing agent, whose exceptional service and genuine care have made my transition seamless. From the first tour, Kristen's professionalism and warmth were evident, making me feel like an esteemed guest. Her dedication, even two months post-move, is unparalleled. Whether addressing minor maintenance requests or checking in on my comfort, Kristen’s commitment is commendable. Her associate, Michael, also deserves recognition for his consistent support. The community is a testament to thoughtful design and historic charm, nestled in a beautifully redeveloped textile mill complex. With stunning architecture and inviting common areas, Drayton Mills Lofts fosters a sense of belonging. Amenities like valet trash service and an intuitive tenant portal reflect a management dedicated to a white-glove experience. Even during Hurricane Helene, when much of Spartanburg lost power, Drayton Mills Lofts stood resilient—a feature I deeply appreciate as a former Miami Beach resident. Living here is about being part of a community where everyone greets you with a smile. The ongoing development of Drayton Mills, with its Marketplace and scenic trails, adds to the allure. For anyone considering a move, I encourage you to tour Drayton Mills Lofts and experience this unique blend of luxury and community. Contact Kristen to guide you through what could be your next perfect home. Drayton Mills Lofts isn't just a place to live; it's a lifestyle of excellence.
The loft apartments are a great concept, however Drayton is charging the same price as apartment communities in the surrounding area that are alot newer than them and have better amenities and upgraded features. Also during my stay the staff has changed multiple times, i believe at 3 or 4 property managers and several leasing people so things were never consistent. so my advice any communication you have with the office make to sure to have it in writing. So the apartments ok, but expensive for how old they are and need some improvements, the sounds also travels so you will hear a good bit of noise & will hear your neighbors,
Loved the layout of the buildings and the overall help from the staff was great. 10/10
We loved our year at Drayton Mills Lofts. It is close to downtown and easy access to 176. The staff was always very helpful and friendly, and maintenance made repairs promptly. The Dray, Pi Squared, Bella Latte, Holliday Brewing, and Bareknuckle Barbershop are great and only a minute walk from your apartment. Two nice trails across the street that are great for walking, biking, running ect. We really enjoyed the large windows and the old mill feel. The grounds were always kept up and nice to look at everyday. I would recommend Drayton Lofts to anyone. My dog really liked the company too!

Thank you!! We have loved having you here with us a Drayton! If you're ever looking for a new home again, you're always welcome to come back! We love your furry family member too!!
These apartments are absolutely beautiful and super unique. Love having a piece of history kept here in Spartanburg
Love the building and apartments but no effort into sound proofing the walls when they renovated. You will hear everything your neighbors do. I’ve been living in apartments for 10 years and never had as many issues as we did in Drayton. When we got a place here I heard it could be noisy but just figured that was some people complaining about the usual apartment noise. I was wrong and wouldn’t make that mistake again.

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We would like to have a better understanding about your experience. Please reach out to the on-site leasing office at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to resolve this with you.
Drayton Mills is absolutely beautiful. From the brick walls and huge windows to the restaurants and the walking trails, Drayton checks every box at first glance. But, when it comes time to actually live here, Drayton is awful. The floors are so thin that you can hear everything above and below you. Whether it be your downstairs neighbor's morning alarm or phone on speaker, you can hear everything. It sounds dramatic, but I promise you it is not. If the tenant below you sneezes, you will be able to hear it. Not to mention, if the neighboring tenant chooses to have people over, there is no chance you are getting any peace or quiet. I have lived in apartments before, and I understand that there is some amount of natural noise from apartments around you, but this takes it to an entirely different level. I am in medical school, and the environment here makes it virtually impossible to get any studying done at home. Also, I dread coming home at night because all I'm able to do is listen to the tenant below me. I have slept with ear plugs in for the past 6 months. At this point, it is unhealthy to live here. It causes so much unneeded stress. Of course, I have tried to talk to management about these issues, and they have been no help. One night the noise got so bad that we had to go get a hotel room. They told us they were going to look into reimbursing us for that room (in person), but then when we emailed them about it (in writing), they never responded. It's a month later, and we still have not been reimbursed. Living at Drayton has been an absolute disaster. It has caused so much added stress in my fiancé and I's lives. Drayton is beautiful place for the eyes, but when it comes to practicality of living, you will likely be disappointed.
The entire property is amazing. They were able to preserve the historic industrial feel of the mill while also making it feel very warm and homey. All of the amenities throughout the complex are second to none too. And management have been extremely friendly and eager to help with any questions I've had. I would highly recommend living here to anyone who's in the market
I recently moved here about three months ago and I absolutely love it! If you’re looking for a place to move look no further because the manager is so sweet and so are the other ladies in the office
The old mill concept is great. I love the unique style of the floor plan and the huge windows for natural light!
Toured the other day with my daughter and absolutely loved the brick walls and original hardwood floors!
Although I’ve never lived at Drayton Mills, I’ve had the opportunity of viewing one of the apartments. It was SO beautiful ! The atmosphere alone feels great, it’s not over crowding, minimum to no noise- even for the people with babies/kids- you wouldn’t know. Indeed a peaceful place, it would be like taking a vacation everyday in your own home.
I have been living in Drayton Mills Lofts for over 1 year and was very happy to renew my lease. I look forward to another year here. The location of the apartment complex is great. It is easy to get to the highway and close to downtown Spartanburg. The retail space in the area has great places to eat and is expanding. The management staff is great. They are available to talk to and address issues quickly. The few maintenance issues I experienced were fixed in a timely manner. They have occasional resident events that help you get to know your fellow residents. This is a dog friendly complex and all the pet owners I have encounter have been great in how they handle their dogs. The facilities are well maintained. The fitness center, pool and community rooms are great amenities.
I love the environment and atmosphere. The staff are always SO helpful. It has restaurants and a brewery close by too!
Staff is super helpful. The apartments are so nice!! Love it!
I am working on my first week of residence here. The location is very close to my place of employment, which makes my morning and evening commute very palatable. They did a very nice job cleaning my apartment prior to my moving. I may not have the best view, but I am very close to the elevator, which makes up for a lot. The appliances are very nice and being able to obtain ice from the door of the refrigerator is something I was already accustomed to having. So it is nice not to be without that feature. The washer and dryer being inside the apartment and included was a very welcomed touch. There is a ton of natural light in the apartment. All of the fellow residents I have met have been very cordial. The only picky drawbacks are no light in either bedroom and no fan in the second bedroom. However I knew that prior to moving in. All of the staff have been excellent to work with and it seems they have a sense of humor, which is always a plus. I worked with Marissa through the entire process. She is a true professional with genuine concern and assistance for any question or situation I encountered. Marissa kept me up to date about how things were proceeding through out the process. If you are considering The Lofts, I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.
I will give you both sides to all. There are extremes in all apartment living and its a reality. 1. Residents: They are a wonderful, inclusive group of people. The ones that choose to be. The good far outweigh the bad. 2. Staff: They treat me and my daughter with respect, courtesy and with personality. If I have an issue the fix it. If there is a relationship issue with a resident, I present my case, and they are not scared to let me know if I am wrong (respectfully) or they will work with me on a solution. Cannot ask for more. 4. The grounds: They do a good job of maintaining, there may be the random dog present in the grass, thats on the dog's owner and I had those from neighbors at my last hours. 5. Location: This would be a 4 vs. 5. We are not downtown. The uber ride is less than $10 if you are going out. The lesser rent than most of downtown makes it worth it. 6. Random Pros: we have 2 (hopefully to be 3) restaurants on site, a wonderful nano brewery walking trails and common areas. I have a 5y/o and I don't worry about getting out our door goes into a hallway that has cameras and locked entrances. I am comfortable if I forget to lock my doors and if I am out of town and need help with something, the staff goes of their way to help me. (They even helped Santa one year when me and my offspring were flying back late Christmas Eve. added pro-I don't have to do random weekend projects on a house. 7. Random Cons: it is an apartment, there will be neighbor issues and at times can be loud. It is not the norm and the management will react as needed. I love dogs, just not sure apartments are the best place to have them. Also, many of the dog issues you read about are trainable issues so I hold the pet parent responsible vs. the building. Can't hold the school responsible for a bad parent. Summary: Apartment living will always have challenges, pick the ones you want to be a concern. For me and offspring, this place is amazing. We can chill, play, visit people, go out to eat, fish (not onsite but a short walk) and never have to get in the car.
Drayton staff are very friendly and attentive. The building is a historical masterpiece beautifully made into apartments . Conveniently located close to shopping and restaurants. 5 stars! Great location
I lived at Drayton for a year and I hated every moment after the first month! The noise is TERRIBLE! There is barely ever any parking after 7:00pm. Do not let the beauty fool you, it is not worth the price AT ALL!
Property Manager at DRAYTON MILLS-NATIONALLY AWARDED, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. I am not sure which apartment you were in but I am sorry we were not given the opportunity to try to resolve the issues you have. Yes, the main parking lot can get full, but we do have the overflow lot that is easily accessible to the building. We do try to resolve any noise issues if residents come to talk to us about it. Thank you again and good luck in the future.
After moving to Drayton Mills lofts from out of state (job transfer) I ended my lease and moved out after just 5 months, mainly due to the repeated failure of Easlan Management and Drayton Mills staff to enforce the community rules and guidelines they have all tenants sign off on upon renting. Management does not effectively and fairly address noise and pet complaints stemming from the college students who are the majority of tenants and whom do not respect nor adhere to these rules and regulations. The security, and common area maintenance are sorely lacking and sheriff has been called to break up parties held on weekdays from college students. parking rules and trash (which tenants must pay a fee for)regulations are not enforced and doors propped open, illegal parking, and trash in hallways on weekends is a common occurrence. I would not recommend Drayton Mills Apartments to any working professional seeking a pleasant, peaceful, and respectful community in which to live.
Just moved in. Rent is higher than stated as they charge for trash service (mandatory), water, nonrefundable pet deposit and monthly pet fee (what?) and surcharge depending on lease term. Moved in and immediately found my icemaker, toilet and washing machine did not work in my brand new apartment. Seems it may have been a good idea to detail it and make sure it was in working order. The washing machine now has been broken for 4 days with most of my clothes locked in a wet washing machine. Having to go out to wash clothes. The leasing staff seems indifferent to my plight. Did not return my call today. I had to call back after waiting over 4 hours for a response from the manager. They are however very concerned with the machine warranty and making sure that nothing invalidates the warranty. They have had numerous problems with these machines according to the maintenance man. What is ironic is that in the "welcome" letter, which is really just a litany of do's and don'ts , they seem to expect a lot form the tenant but not so much from themselves. Paying premium price for cheap apartment. Cabinets, appliances and finishes are all cheap. Not exactly as represented. Just my opinion. There are better options out there.
Property Manager at DRAYTON MILLS-NATIONALLY AWARDED, Responded To This Review
Thank you Dr. Staley for your review here and on Google. We certainly value your feedback and opinion. It appears as though you spent a great deal of time selecting your apartment here and we are glad that you chose Drayton Mills Loft Apartments to be your home. It was noted on your original visit that you loved the home feel layout, large walk-in closet, en-suite bathroom and the large living room and kitchen area. Over the next several months you toured several apartments over the course of different visits. During each visit you were given pricing on each apartment as well as the additional cost of $70 per month that includes water, sewer and valet trash; you were also made aware of the $500 non-refundable pet fee, monthly pet rent of $10 and short term lease fee. These fees are normal fees charged when you rent an apartment and fall right in line with our competitors. It is quite unfortunate that your washing machine stopped working on the day after your moved in, which also happened to be the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Once our office team was made aware that your washing machine was not working, we immediately offered you access to the washer in our model apartment, but we were told that you did not want to use that washing machine. On Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day, our Maintenance Supervisor called the warranty company responsible for the repair of your washing machine and asked to be added in for that day; they put him on a waitlist for that day and scheduled an absolute appointment for the next day. We again offered you the use of the washing machine in our model apartment and again that offer was declined by you. I would like to explain that because our community is new we do several quality control checks before residents move in. While construction and then our Maintenance Team does these quality control checks, we do not run a complete cycle of the washing machine full of clothes. Your ice maker was also tested prior to move in and found to work, however, we did turn off the water supply after the test was complete. Please accept our sincere apology in not having turned the water supply line back on for you. Due to your feedback we’ve actually implemented a new policy concerning the ice maker and now we will be turning on ice makers for resident the day before they move in. We feel like this is a win/win because the resident will already have ice and we’ll remember to turn on that water supply line. Again, I hope that you accept our apology as we completely own our mistake in not turning on your ice maker water supply line. We are definitely bound to our new appliance warranties, just as you would be had you purchased a brand new home. If our maintenance team were to work on your washer, it would have voided the warranty and as you can imagine we don’t want to do that. Finally, no one in the office or on our maintenance team has any knowledge of an issue with either of your toilets. We have not received a work order nor is was it included on your move in inspection. Please contact us with the issue you’re having and let us know which toilet. Two members of our office team have reached out to your on multiple occasions to schedule an appointment with our owner to best help resolve these issues. We look forward to meeting with you so that we can make the rest of your stay at Drayton Mills Loft Apartments amazing. All the best, Alicia Cledaras Property Manager
Took a tour of the new model units at Drayton Mill Lofts and they look incredible. I can't wait until they complete construction in order to see the whole project.
