Property Ratings at Drexel Court Apartments
I lived here for two years and it was great. We always received quick responses to any issues or questions. The month to month lease after a year is great. They were also very accommodating to our needs!

The team at Drexelbrook is so happy to hear about your positive experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this wonderful 5 star review.
I have been here for over two years and the place is well maintained. After a year you have the option of being put on a month to month lease which is great.
is very dirty and has many insects, the staff is not correct
I am trying really hard to find more positives than negatives. I have been here a little over a year. Upon the ending of my 1st 12 month lease, I was put on a month to month, without any negotiation of being put on another year lease -- a blessing as I am currently trying to find a new place to move. Shortly after moving in, I developed severe respiratory issues. I thought it was just my allergies getting worse, but I am now convinced there is toxic mold in this building. I have had surgery to fix my deviated septum, because my nose was so swollen and blocked I honestly could not breath for MONTHS. I now have asthma, which I have never had and I am not a smoker. I have dry, scaley skin, my eyes are always watering, my nose is always running, I cough up a lung all night long. I can't stop sneezing and wheezing. I am always short of breath and only seem to be fine after spending an hour or 2 away from home and somewhere else for the day. As soon as I come home, the symptoms come back...and no....it isn't the cats. Aside from that...the laundry facility is awful, I feel like my clothes are never clean, that is, if I can find a working machine, so now I bring my wash elsewhere. The elevators are hit or miss, my packages are not allowed to be delivered to me, which is terrible since I am never home while the post office is open. The rent is cheap, and Aimee, the woman who deals with rent is wonderful, but other than that...I do not recommend.
I moved up here from Florida and all the apartments I looked at in the area were old, seemed dirty, and over priced except Drexel Court apartments. These apartments are updated, fresh looking, and well maintained. They have a beautiful sunroom that has great lighting. The building and courtyard area are also well taken care and kept clean. I have a lot of space for the amount of rent I pay compared to other apartments I looked at and you can't meet the location. It's close to Philly and not far from the mainline. The owners are also very flexible and friendly, which reminds me of the south!
I love living here at the Drexel Court Apartments. It's a charming historical building well suited to all ages. There is the feeling that my neighbors care for eachother and for this safe neighborhood. I enjoy the convenience of apartment living while still being able to go out for a walk amongst the quaint homes and large trees of Drexel Hill. I also love the light filled yet cozy feel of my apartment.
I have been living here for over a year now and have had mixed feelings about this place. For what I pay it is good but it has its's pro's and con's. Pro would be that it is probably the cheapest place I could find in the area, my apt gets plenty of sunlight, there is laundry in the basement (though it has a lot of machines some of them tend to break somewhat often) I have a decent amount of space and closet space, and the kitchens are pretty nice. Some con's, parking is always an issue because you have to park on the side streets which is first come first serve, so sometimes I park next to the building, other times a block to 3 blocks away. There are several entrances which is nice, but I must say some of them aren't really secure which has always bothered me. After living there for a couple months a ran into a bed bug issue which I have never had before in my life, but since exterminating them I have lived here for an entire year with out any issues. I can hear my upstairs neighbors pretty well from my bedroom which you can imagine how frustrating that can be, but it isn't all the time. Overall this is pretty good/decent place to live if you are on a budget and I would recommend it to other people if you are young and on a budget.

Dont get me wrong I love my landlord but I live in a big old building with lots of problems. I freeze in winter and melt in summer. The electric bills are over the top for a one bedroom place. It has a funny smell in summer which is probobly from the bug bombs in the basement and oh yes I'm on the first floor and if you like small critters we have them in the winter. My bathroom is quite another story the ceiling is always leaking and the water damage is taking its toll oh and did I mention the mold problem.
Ive been living at Drexel Court Apartments for the past 4 months and all I have to say is this is not the place to be. The Landlord's are very rude and unprofessional and the building is falling apart as we speak.
The apartment is in a great location and has a lot of character, which I like, but the parking is not good (only about 10 dedicated spaces for a large apartment building! ) and the heating is an awful baseboard system which is hugely expensive and does not do much of a good job even at the cost.
Drexel Court Apartments has its charms. The front court yard is shaded with trees and flowers. Each apartment room has a unique floor plan, and if you're lucky, you can find one with a spacious dining room, draped with natural lights all around. It's located literally 30 seconds away from a 101 Trolley station, and only a 10 mins. ride from 69th st. However... If you walk around the apartment building once, you'll find at least 3 unsecured entrances. The laundry room is in the basement, and it's often filled with a bad smell. Also, chances are, half of the laundry machines will not be working properly. Depending on where you're located, Drexel Courts is adjacent to a 4 way intersection. It can get very loud during the weeknights and weekend. Parking is atrocious. There are only ~9 parking spaces available in the back, otherwise you'll have to parallel park at an adjacent neighborhood. The mailing system isn't the most reliable, either. While water is free, there is almost always problems with the pipes. Oh, and the heaters don't work. To me, personally, all of the above isn't a deal breaker, but what does upset me a lot is the fact that they aren't doing anything to make the apartment complex more SECURE. There are plenty of families with young children and elders in the building.
My husband & I have lived in the Drexel Court Apts for over 3 years now. Although the apartment is nice and inexpensive the landlords do not fix anything that needs fixing. we have black mold in our bathroom because there is no ventilation, a broken fridge that leaks water, a whole in the ceiling that the owner simply taped up rather then fix and we had to pay for and replace our own front door lock because that too broke. The only reason why we have stayed this long is because its in between both our jobs and we are looking to relocate out of state soon.
It is where I want to be. Each apartment has a unique personality. I like the view…. When I look out my window I see a huge courtyard populated with squirrels, birds, and an occasional rabbit. The picture from my apartment window is dictated by seasons and holidays. In other words, in a winter snowfall, I see a white down comforter; in the cultivating seasons, I see flowers, healthy bushes, and a mowed lawn and neighbors elbow deep in dirt; on a holiday, I see festive decorations. I like teamwork…. My neighbors operate as a team which is demonstrated during these seasons and holidays. In seasons, for example, pavements are shoveled and deiced (by tenants – not even giving Maintenance a chance); seasonal holidays are decorated in true fashion, lights and holly hung, pumpkins/scarecrows appear; in the fair weather, flowers are planted, watered, and maintained. I like convenience…. At Drexel Court, traveling is convenient. It is close to transportation and places of business (the Post Office, restaurants, shops, groceries, hairdressers, hardware stores, tailors, department stores, and all fun places to shop). This is why I call Drexel Court home and the reason that it is where I want to be.
