About an hour south of Cleveland, Tallmadge is a small suburban city on the northeast corner of Akron. The eight main roads through the community converge at the Tallmadge Town Square Historic District, a small park at the center of the city containing the Old Town Hall history museum and a beautifully preserved church built in 1825. The close proximity to both Akron and Cleveland has made Tallmadge a popular location for commuters, and the terrific local schools boost the appeal for folks raising families.

Property Ratings at Grand Woodlands Apartments
I have lived here for a little over a year and a half. The office staff is very accommodating and professional. The maintenance staff arrives quickly and do their jobs proficiently. I will rent from here for many years to come!!!!! If you are looking for a place that is quiet and secure to raise your family or just retire this is the greatest place around. You will feel very taken care of.
I am going to give this apartment complex a fair review with both pros and cons. These apartments are OUTDATED. This is the only way to accurately describe them. If you are looking for decor and construction that appears to be from the 60-70’s then this is the place for you. The bathrooms have PINK tubs, toilets and sinks. And my bathroom sink so old, it has rust stains everywhere, this was like this when we moved in. The kitchens are just as outdated and it’s frustrating. They are galley shaped kitchens and unless you are 6 feet in height or taller, then you will struggle with the kitchen cabinet layout. There also aren’t enough cabinets or enough room. Our refrigerator, which came with our unit, is from what appears to be the 90’s. Instead of replacing the fridge or properly fixing it, they left the arm that holds in condiments in the door bent, and the bottom drawer that pulls out is adhesive with some gray goo that doesn’t hold the drawer in place whatsoever. The living area is plenty spacious, and there is a fireplace that we do not use because it falls on the tenants responsibility to pay for a chimney sweep, an additional cost we do not care to accumulate. The garden terrace on the units are nice. It is convenient for planting flowers, having a grill and there is even room for us to have a small fire pit. The cons: You may or may not have a door to your garden terrace. If your unit comes with a door, congratulations, you are one of the more fortunate people. However, if this door becomes broken or non-functioning, they do not replace it. It is at your cost, time and labor to put any new doors on the garden terrace. If you are one of the unfortunate souls who don’t have a door, good luck, people have had things stolen off their terrace. The grounds for the most part, are well kept. However, as of lately the grass isn’t being mowed consistently. They charge extra for any additional pool passes for guests to swim. There is always a life guard on duty at the pool. It’s usually quiet, it’s usually safe and it’s usually clean. However there are times when it is loud, the 4th of July being one of them. Apparently tenants at this place believe its ok to shoot huge fireworks off their small garden terrace. As for cleanliness, sometimes the dumpsters get too full. We also have a very BAD raccoon problem right now; I have spotted a total of 6 raccoon that live in the storm drains. They dig through the dumpsters and are out at night when I come home from work!
I've been here for a year and a half. They obviously don't screen anyone before they allow them to rent. I've had a pair of wet running shoes stolen off my patio in the middle of the day. We had teenager bang on our children's bedroom windows late at night scaring them. Also the back window was broken on my wife's car in the middle of the day. One of my neighbors is seen clearly taking illegal drugs in the parking lot often. Other than that the staff is friendly and maintenance is decent, unless a tree falls across the entrance to the complex. Then they don't clear it out of the way fora week. It's also overpriced for what you get. I can't wait to find somewhere else to live. Don't rent here, it's not worth all the hassle.
This would be a great place to live, if you don't mine privacy our patio fence is over 6 ft tall you'll never get to meet your neighbors unless your walking to your car. Hopefully you will get nicer neighbors then I have, she will do anything to cause a fight and my new car looks like I've had it for 10yrs because someone keeps keying it. One thing that's good management is friendly there's a pool in a different area then I live. So this is why I'm looking for another place of home to rent.
