Property Ratings at Historic Buckeye Building
This Buckeye Building apartment (now called the Arlo) is part of five buildings on the East 4th property, and the constant clear noise from my neighbor’s apartment—from regular conversations to even pages turning in a book—leaves me feeling like I have no privacy and have no peace and quiet. It’s uncomfortable to the point where I avoid phone conversations, knowing I can be overheard. Another inconvenience is the ongoing problems with the shared washing machine on the floor, which seems to be out of order more often than not, forcing me to find another way to do laundry. The parking situation, especially in the Woolworth basement garage, is another hassle—tight spaces, only one lane for entering and exiting, making every trip in and out a stressful event. It’s nearly impossible to get a spot in the smaller Buckeye Building garage, which is connected to the building. Both the people in the leasing office and maintenance crew are very nice and get back to you quickly. More things worth noting is that package room isn’t in this building, but mail does get delivered here. Also there is no intercom/buzzer to let people up to your apartment, so you have to go down to let them in. Another thing is the garage doesn’t offer guest parking, so they have to pay for parking either on the street or adjacent public lots. While the apartment has high ceilings, with a renovated interior and a great downtown location, these inconveniences take away any enjoyment I wish I would be getting from this space.
