Beacon is a small city on the east bank of the Hudson River, positioned about fifteen miles south of Poughkeepsie and sixty miles north of New York City. Mostly filled by charming suburban neighborhoods, the city’s thriving Main Street is packed with a vibrant assortment of cafes, specialty shops, art galleries, watering holes, and historic landmarks. Grab your morning caffeine fix at Bank Square Coffeehouse, sample the local beers at Hudson Valley brewery, or catch a live band at Max’s On Main.
The area includes several convenient options for folks who like to spend a lot of time outside, from the Southern Dutchess Country Club to the scenic Long Dock Park on the river to the sprawling Hudson Highlands nature preserve just south of town. Rail service by the MTA Hudson line makes it easy to get down into the city or farther Upstate, and direct access to Interstate 84 puts the entire region at your fingertips.

Property Ratings at Hudson View Park
The staff is so friendly and nice. I moved in soon after my husband passed and they made me feel welcomed and at home. What is really nice though is how well the property is maintained…inside and out. I had a problem with my dishwasher and literally within a half hour I had a brand new one installed. The staff was so apologetic but I had to chuckle… I have lived places where it took several phone calls and weeks before anything would get done. Not here! They are prompt, courteous, and professional. I am happy to be here.
I am in my 3rd year of leasing and just recently downgraded from a small 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom. I absolutely love my space! I have an awesome little porch and was lucky enough to face the woods and river. The maintenance staff has always been super responsive and the office staff has always been very helpful. The neighborhood is quite for the most part and the amenities fee saves on the cost of utilities including the cable/wifi. The grounds are clean and they continuously are making improvements. The only negatives that I can think of would be that the walls are quite thin if you have inconsiderate neighbors and there is a rent increase every year. Otherwise, I can say how truly grateful I am to be here especially knowing the rental market in our area is slim pickings and not as nice and affordable.... Love my apt!
My family and I have lived here for about a year and a half and it is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Maintenance crew is polite, timely, and efficient. Office staff is always friendly and available.
My family and I moved into Hudson View Park in May 2020 right in the middle of the pandemic and Rosalyn could not have been more professional and caring. The apartment was freshly painted and the rugs were steam cleaned. The property is very well maintained and work orders are attended to immediately. The guys come out and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with needed repairs. During the winter months, snow is quickly removed the same day. I feel safe in the neighborhood and would highly recommend Hudson View Park.
My family and I were previous tenants in the area for about few years. We've kept to ourselves, we paid the rent on time, we were never the type of tenants that broke the rules on the lease but we were all of a sudden having the workers coming in and out of our townhouse for no specific reason and they kept coming up with excuses about there being trash on the floor or the house was a pig sty. But when my parents had gotten the townhouse it specifically said that when a new tenant was going to rent the place that it would be remodeled but when they moves in they had done nothing to remodel the place. And when my mom had called the office about why this keeps happening and what messes they've seen in the place they had nothing to say about it. Until in 2018 when we were surprised that we weren't going to have our lease renewed and we needed to move. They had mentioned that there was a bigger apartment about for us to rent but when my mom called for it they told her that basically there was nothing for us and there was nothing that they could do for us. I loved the place but that was what we've experienced while living there.
We found the leasing agents direct contact info on their Hudson View Park Apartments website. We contacted Roslyn who returned our call quickly. She explained the rental application process which went smooth & quick. We dropped off the application & all required info on a Saturday morning. Upon arriving we took in the scenery which is beautiful & clean, not dirty & disgusting like the Bronx. By Monday morning Roslyn called with the approval. Born and raised in the Bronx, never had a process so smooth & fast before. All these landlords in the Bronx make the process of renting an apartment so hard & so long which to us is really unnecessary. We like to thank the staff of Hudson View Park for their courtesy and great assistance for answering all of our questions. We have also recommended this place to some friend & family.
Every day for years there is construction. It has not let up in 2 years. Enough already. Dump trucks and backhoes take up resident parking spaces. It's great that they fix things but it's starting to become like every tiny little thing they can come up with to dig up or build just for overtime they will. There is 0 privacy and the noise is too much for a one year old to play near so we rarely can use the grass or playground. They dug up the grass next to the playground and paved over it with a random patio no one uses. It is wasteful. The buildings are shoddy. Their construction was so frekin cheap it's scary, barely any insulation and walls are made of cardboard almost...you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. Management nit picks and nags everyone and makes people feel bad for things. I'd think twice about signing a long term lease here.
The staff is amazing and friendly!! It is a great community, apartments are great and it is a great location! Very spacious grounds and well maintained. Easy access to Beacon and highways. If it wasn't for new job and and relocating to Philadelphia area, I would've continued to live here. I have loved my time here and will always recommend it to others!
The management company lack communication with tenants. If you have a concern or a question, expect to receive 1+ voicemails and have to follow up. Or they may even not call you and share your information with someone they think is you - privacy invasion. They need to fix their internal communication as well.

finally took a quick 14 minute interview, with a showing of an apt, seemed very disorganized staff. Have read other reviews when Hudson View Terrace, was the property name. Waste of time.

Hello, I am sorry you had a disappointing experience. We are a well-organized and professional company and I assure you if you decide to return you would be pleasantly surprised. Please give us a call should you decide to search for another apartment home in the future, we would be more than happy to take you on a tour. Thank you.
I have been living her for a long time and I love the community and all the staff here are great. Last night we all received this very unfriendly notice that wasn't even signed by a person that we need "to remove any personal items from the hallway and your front door" "if our team discovers any of the following items during our inspection, you may be subject to a removal fee for each item" "also keep in mind that if any of the above items are found and removed by our staff members, they will be discarded" Ok.... Upon calling the office I inquired who wrote this letter and was informed that a new person took over now and she wrote the letter. She stated that we can not have a doormat or wreath on our doors. This is like living in a prison camp. Who likes walking in and seeing nothing? The door mats and wreaths bring warmth and cheerfulness to the inside and makes it appealing to new comers to want to live here. No where in our lease does it state we can not have a nice door mat outside our door nor does it state we can not hang a pretty wreath on our door. (she then said it was fine to have) As far as the balcony/patio I understand you don't want trash out there, clothes, grills , coolers, bikes but honestly, where is a person to put their bike? Maybe in their living room...really???? She said the patios can not look cluttered but really now if you have a patio table and chairs and have a cooler in the other corner and a patio storage seat that is not near the patio door and you have pretty flowers and plenty of room to walk around and nothing is in the way of the door and all is neat then what is the problem??? This new person will push people to leave this wonderful community and make others not want to move in. This new person is not a people person. Why is the previous person no longer doing this? She was a very caring person who always listened and helped the tenants!
Property Manager at Hudson View Park, Responded To This Review
Hello, I assure you our letter was not sent to offend any of our residents. There were quite a few balconies that were completely cluttered and a fire hazard. We sent this letter to provide a guideline to keep our residents safe. There were door mats that were curled up at the edges or disintegrating, which created a tripping hazard. There were dead plants, shoes, boxes and many personal items in the hallways that were also a tripping hazard. We found indoor sofas with other indoor items stored on the patios/balconies. Indoor furniture getting wet from the weather creates an environment for mold. We strive to have a community that is safe and a place to call “home”. Please feel free to contact the office should have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
Visited the complex recently to look at apartments with my fiance. The building we went into had a slight odor that I couldn't place. After entering the apartment and walking the rooms where I got a stronger sense of it, I realized it was drugs. The lady showing us the place either didn't recognize the smell or was ignoring it. I asked a couple of acquaintances who live on the complex about it and it seems like the complex is a sort of safe haven for drug users. While the property was in a great spot for commuting and well maintained, I do not plan to live and start a life with someone in a building with drug users and endure that smell while it seems management does nothing.
I moved into Hudson View about a month ago and have been enjoying the quiet atmosphere and the fresh air. My 1 bedroom apartment is spacious and was very clean upon moving in. The rent prices are very reasonable. My cat was allowed with no fee, so we were both happy to hear that. I've got an great porch outside and there is a big pool in the back, can't complain! I had a problem with the sink and kitchen fan and the issues were quickly resolved by the awesome staff, both in the office and facilities. Neighbors are friendly and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. No one seems to be blasting music at 4am and I haven't heard or seen a domestic dispute yet! Some of my previous apartments were a nightmare. This place is turning out pretty swell! Ample parking and I'm super close to I84, 87 Thruway, Taconic State Parkway and close enough to the Metro North train station. I work in the "quad-state" area and my position in the middle via Beacon, is a good deal for transport. One con are the loud creaks and stomps of footsteps via my friendly neighbors above me. I've lived in many apartments, but the ceilings in this building are pretty thin. I put some area rugs down so I wouldn't annoy the folks below me ; ) The second con is that I used to have Version for internet and I am limited to only Optimum / Cablevision at this location. I also don't watch tv and cable/internet is included in the rental bill, which would be nice to have the option to opt out of cable. Everything else is total pro's! Totally worth checking out, especially for locals.
This is a great townhouse and has been for over thirty years. the park my home is in is great for bike riding and taking walks. It has a large swimming pool plus other recreational areas. there are a few public patios with grills for outdoor cooking if you don't have your own on your patio. The property is well kept even in the winter. this is the home my children grew up in and the home that built me.
Quiet neighborhood, great management... however I miss having a washer/dryer in the apartment instead using of a shared laundry room, miss central A/C..one small unit in the living room keeps one of the two bedrooms cool, no garbage disposal. Have problems in the summer using the oven...it gets too hot in the kitchen and the smoke alarm goes off....otherwise, open windows, use a small fan to pull the heat out...inconvenient, limits cooking.
The apartment is very cozy and roomy. The neighbors are nice and friendly. Great place to raise a family (1st time mother of 2). The property management team is great, they are always willing to help at a very fast pace. The facilities dept. are very friendly and are willing to come in do their job and give you advise on how they would fix it again should the issue ever arise again. The pool are is very clean and relaxing even with the kids yelling and playing. Great property location minutes from the highway, shopping areas in all directions, parks, trains, and anything else you may need.
Beautiful location, well maintained by staff, Great view of Hudson River, Close by to Train Station. Public transportation in area.Very nice Restaurants in downtown Beacon. Large swimming pool. Close to all Schools in area. Picnic and BBQ area. Recreation area for small children. Basketball court. Close by for shopping and area Malls. Easy commute to NYC. Top hospitals in this area. Great area to raise a family. Dutchess Stadium , home of the Renegade baseball team. So much to do and see in the Beautiful Hudson Valley. A place to enjoy life to the fullest.
Beautiful and serene property, close to the Beacon train station, Newburg Beacon bridge, I84 intersection, Hudson Valley Renegades and Beacon's ever growing and fun main street activities. Very attentive management and maintenance staff. Spacious floor plans from one bedroom to two story three bedrooms, great on site activities, and park-like atmosphere. Love it here.
It is comfortable and nice size. When you need help with anything in the apartment the people here come ASAP and are polite and helpful . This is the second time living here the first was in the 80's when I had to look for an apartment I decided to come back
Hudson Highland Properties, located in Beacon, NY, is an ideal location for those that commute. Mere minutes from the train station and located right off of I-84, midway between I-87 and I-684, the apartment complex is a friendly and clean place to live. Also, being located in historic Hudson Valley means that there is plenty to do within a short driving distance. Along with heat and hot water, your monthly rent also includes cable with premium channels, Internet access, a basketball court, pool, plenty of room to run/play, and much more. The complex is pet friendly, and there is no additional rent for residents with cats. Overall, the complex is very nice. The grounds are well kept, and the maintenance staff is responsive to requests. Apartment sizes range from studio to 3 bedrooms with varying sizes for all apartment types. Those coming in to the community may find some of the furnishings outdated, but you'd be very hard pressed to find a similar apartment for the same price and all of the included amenities your get with Hudson Highland Properties. This is a fantastic place to live for anyone looking for a very affordable apartment with a lot included.
My apartment complex in Dutchess County, NY is well maintained. During the spring and summer months, the fantastic ground crew are out mowing lawns, trimming bushes, etc. no matter what the temperature is for the day. During the winter months, the same crew are out plowing and shoveling. They are so helpful to the residents and go over and above the call of duty. The maintenance crew are so efficient. I call with a problem and it is fixed within the day..the office staff are courteous and willing to help in any way. The rent is compatible with other complexes. I have lived here for over 20 years and have no intention on moving.
The apartment we saw were great. .The one we saw was 2bdrm medium. ..the only Reason we Didn't move there , was the apartment was taken,.
Was nicely presented, however, felt too small for me.
AMAZING, I would like to start off by saying THANK YOU for helping me find my first apartment. I was helped by Kimberly, she was very helpful and made the stress of looking for place disappear. She was energetic, Very kind, Funny, and she made this process feel like a breeze! Definitely will recommend this development in the future. I can't wait to be a part of Hudson View Park. Thank you again Melissa and Mark melly 611

Im moving into my first apartment (at Hudson View Park) on Sept 1 also. Good luck!
The apartments I've seen are so lovely, clean, and beautiful, and the staff is so professional.
Old 70's apartments. Rent goes up every single year, and so do the "entertainment" fees. Owners want to nickel and dime you at every turn. Paperthin walls, you can hear everything. And I mean EVERYTHING, day or night. Old cracking walls with paint chips everywhere. The front office are do-nothings who just roll their eyes at your requests. Maintenance responds quickly but never actually fix the underlying problem. Wayyyy to expensive for what you get, but you'll see...
I lived in Hudson View Park apartment for a little more than a year. I don't like it, here are the reasons. 1. This apartment's wall and ceiling are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor peeing and phone ringing. If you want to live there, better pray you don't have a loud neighbor. 2. The apartment management is not friendly, and they don’t listen your complaining. I complained about their maintenance mowing grass and vacuuming stairs 7:30 in the morning and the apartment manager told me because they had more than 40 acres of property that needs to take care of, so they need to start early. 3. They did not refund money on my laundry card. You only can recharge the laundry card in their leasing office. I did not want to run to the office to recharge the laundry card every time I do laundry, so I put $50 each time when the card out of money. We still had over $30 dollars on laundry card after we moved out. We asked the management for refund, but they told us that they don't refund the money on the laundry card and we shouldn't put too much money on it.
It was a pleasant place with an abundance of greenery
