With its charming and historic downtown, brick-paved sidewalks, and rolling green hills Jackson is a hidden gem. It is located off I-40, roughly halfway between Memphis and Nashville. It is the county seat of Madison County, and it is home to several colleges and universities, including Jackson State Community College, the University of Memphis at Lambuth, and Union University. It's also the location of the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame and the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum.
When Jackson residents want to shop, they have plenty of options: Shoppes at the Columns is an outdoor shopping area filled with well-known stores and restaurants. Old Hickory Mall, an indoor shopping mall, is located off Old Hickory Boulevard and is surrounded by smaller strip malls. At Fairgrounds Park, residents can peruse the items at Friendly Frank's Flea Market. For fresh produce, they head to the West Tennessee Farmer's Market.
In a state famous for music, Jackson holds its own.

Property Ratings at Jackson Walk & High Point Apartments
I lived here for 4 months. A rash appeared 1 week after I moved in and quickly spread from my neck to my face, back, and shoulders. I went to 3 doctors, and it was an allergic reaction to the mold (the apartment complex claims it is mildew) later found behind the tub. They refused to give back the $1355 required to break my lease due to this allergic reaction stating it is “a personal problem.” This apartment complex is not safe for anyone to live in, especially with those with sensitive skin/health conditions.
I moved here after living in a single family home for almost 36 years. The apartment is nice and I love being downtown. During the Spring and Summer, I attend concerts at the Amp and enjoy the Farmer's Market also. I have joined the Lift and have a routine of going there multiple times a week. The ladies in the office have always been accommodating and I would recommend this facility.
I have been living in a Jackson Walk apartment now for ~5-months. So far the staff from administration to maintenance has been stellar! The apartment complex is clean, and the ambient noise is not too loud. A major benefit of living at Jackson Walk is the affiliation with the Lif+ gym, the hours are great and the classes are plentiful, no excuses. If you're thinking about apartment living in Jackson, TN, you can not go wrong with Jackson Walk Apartments.
The apartments by themselves are very nice and well kept, however, the management is awful. Do not live here.
Staff is VERY rude and very fake. They like to pretend to be all smiles when you’re signing but if you have an issue after that don’t even bother to bring it up to them. They will become condescending and nasty. They offer ZERO help in resolving your issues. If you have an issue with an appliance they give you answers like you’re stupid. For example our freezer will freezer burn everything after a couple days in there. When we asked the office if they could have the maintenance team look at it all they said was “did you try to turn down the temperature” thanks, like I couldn’t think of that myself. However if you bring an issue to maintenance themselves they are happy to fix it for you and will do it quickly. I would say the maintenance team is the only plus side of this complex. Other than that the appliances are VERY cheap, the walls are painted flat white so be very careful because if you dirty them there’s no cleaning it off. When we moved in the carpet was stained, there are drips of white paint all over the floors. Make sure you look over everything with a microscope because they will do anything to make you pay extra upon move out. They say light bulbs are your responsibility to replace but if you take the ones that YOU bought with you when you leave they’ll charge you for them. They like to raise the rent at least once a year. In our years there it’s been raised 3times. Yet they make ZERO improvements to your apartment. If you love hearing everything your neighbors do through the floors then this is the place for you! Not even kidding we can hear their conversations through the floors. Also if you love mold you’ll love it here. Whoever designed the bathroom ventilation needs their degree taken away because it doesn’t work AT ALL. Mold is a HUGE ISSUE here. I’ve never had an apartment complex have me sign a mold waiver before moving in but I can see why now. There are other much bigger much nicer apartments for around the same price in Jackson so I highly suggested checking those out instead. Willing to bet the staff is better too. Don’t fall for their “it’s such a convenient place to live advertising because unless you want to only shop at grubs (expensive), work downtown and go to the lift there is NOTHING convenient about it. Also there is always something loud going on whether it the amp blasting music late into the night, sirens from the hospital and police station or the train blowing its whistle constantly.
I would honestly rate Jackson Walk apartments as the best apartment complex I have ever lived in! Clean, spacious, and modern apartments in the heart of Jackson, TN. The apartments are walking distance from a grocery store, farmers market, gym, and great restaurants and bars. As for the apartment, lots of windows allowing for natural lighting, all new appliances, a kitchen with so much counter space it would make a chef jealous (and for someone that spends most of my free time cooking, that was the selling point), clean carpet, and beautiful flooring. If that's not enough, the ladies in the leasing office are extremely friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend this apartment complex!!!
I have lived here for over a year, I love the downtown area! The staff has always been so nice and helpful. I have nothing but good things to say about my living experience at Jackson Walk.
Lived here for 1 year and worst experience I have ever had, I honestly hate to be the person writing this but I will hate for a different family to go through what my husband and I went through. Staff is a joke, apartments aren't quite what they make them seem online, cannot get good sleep because you can hear through walls neighbors arguments, very thin walls. Dog park is only nice place, however dont need to live here to bring your fur babies. Office people are rude and unprofessional, walls are dirty and get used to driving in your car with garbage bag inside as they dont have close by garbage disposals close by. Overall def not worth the money your throwing away in rent. Will not recommended to anyone. Only gave one Star because least option.
I love the office staff, maintenance, and most of all my apartment! I have no complaints about Jackson Walk at all! The staff is so kind, the maintenance is super fast, and my apartment is beautiful. My upstairs neighbor was playing music very loud one night so I called the office to make a complaint. Security came by and made them turn it down and made a report. I've never had to call them again. I love that we have cameras all over the property and feel safe and at home. 5 stars to Jackson Walk!!!
Think this would be a great place to live? Think again. Your free membership to The Lift, yea it’s nice until you have to pay an enrollment fee of $149 per person. READ FINE PRINT ON LEASE. They don’t tell you about all the fees and “deposits”. I was told I had to pay a $300 security deposit, $ 300 pet deposit and then after I moved in I had to pay a $300 electricity deposit. This isn’t including my rent yet. Yes it’s not a gated community so that means lots of strays and unsafe people. In my apartment it sounds like I have a running track above me. Unfriendly people around the board besides the maintenance men. The only thing I enjoy here is the dog park, and I can bring my pup here even if I don’t live in Jackson Walk. Like I said looks are deceiving.
I’m new to Jackson and looked for an upscale community with the expectation that a higher level of customer service would be apart of it. The was dirty when I moved in and a window was open (1st floor apartment). The maintenance staff came in the apartment twice with out notice. The office staff still haven’t provided paperwork for gym membership or provided a mailbox key. Office staff are not responsive to emails and claim they were sent to the wrong person when confronted. Steer clear folks. Not a place that follows through with their pledge of good customer service.
From the outside these apartments look really nice but their appliances are super cheap and break easily. The carpet was still super stained upon our move in. If you live on any floor but the top floor be prepared to hear elephants stomping around day and night because you can hear literally everything through the floors. If you have children they won’t be getting any sleep during the summer because the amp blasts music that doesn’t end till anywhere from 11pm-1am. They’re painted with flat white paint that gets dirty extremely easily and of course you don’t get to repaint it to look nice again. If you have an issue with another resident don’t even bother going to the office because they are zero help. They’ll tell you to just go talk to the person yourself or call the police. They claim it’s a “convenient location” but unless you work downtown and only plan to shop at grubs there’s nothing convenient about it at all. You have to drive 20 minutes to get to the actual part of town people shop at. They will raise you rent without adding any improvements to your apartment. There are way nicer and bigger apartments available in town for only $20 more so if you’re considering moving here I highly suggest that you take a look at the others in town. The only good thing about this complex is the maintenance crew. They fix things swiftly and will even drive through hazardous conditions on the weekend if you have a maintenance emergency.
I have lived here for two years and I love it! The Amphitheater season is starting up soon and I'm so ready. I heard they are building more and I think that is awesome for Jackson.
