Every city has an “it” neighborhood – fun, funky, close to everything – and for DC, that neighborhood is Logan Circle. Named for a historic traffic circle ringed with Victorian homes, Logan Circle is beautiful, trendy, pedestrian-friendly, and filled with terrific boutiques, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, and bars. Think second-hand stores and avant garde films, dive bars and elegant French restaurants. Being DC’s “it” neighborhood, Logan Circle apartments are in very high demand.
You’ll find a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, and theaters along 14th Street. If you are out shopping and want to stop for lunch, Le Diplomate is rumored to have the best burgers around. In the evening, Sotto is the place to be. For tapas, head to Estadio. Catch a play at Studio Theatre, or take a walking tour of the area’s numerous art galleries. If you want to furnish your new DC apartment, find just the right vintage or shabby chic item at Miss Pixie’s Furniture & Whatnot.

Property Ratings at M Street Towers
- Significant Rat problem - Paper thin walls and floors - Management can be difficult to deal with - Frequent obstructions - e.g., trucks that block the gate - that prevent you from exiting or entering the back parking lot or the garage. This is especially problematic because it often occurs at peak times, when residents are leaving for work. Delay has been 10 minutes on average, but at $160-$200 per month per space, coming and going should be easy. - Very limited parking around the property, which makes having guests difficult if not impossible - Loitering around the property that made me feel uncomfortable - Received several emails throughout my time there about security incidents that were concerning
M Street Towers has newly renovated units - modern appliances, hardwood floors, marble countertops. You don't hear a lot of noise from your neighbors. Management is friendly and responsive. There is an after-hours security guard everyday of the week who has access to the management office to retrieve your packages after the office has closed. The building is about 4 blocks from the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center Metro Station. It's within walking distance to restaurants and shops on 14th Street. There is a Captial Bikeshare station just outside the building.
I'm so happy I found the M Street Towers. Mount Vernon seemed like kind of a dead neighborhood at first- I picked it because it was close to my work - but there's all kinds of good coffee shops/breakfast spots hidden away close by, in alleys and basements and in the bottom of apartment buildings. Also, I find I can walk to nearly everything in Shaw, Columbia Heights, Logan/Dupont, U-Street area - and also, a bunch of cool bars and restaurants are opening nearby on 7th, near the convention center. I bet this place is going to become more popular in the next couple of years. Love my place: It's a studio, but it's L shaped, so the kitchen feels like a different room. Huge walk-in closet, plus a linen closet and a coat closet. My apartment had just had its kitchen renovated, so while it's a small place, it's been very nice. From what I saw when I was touring, not all the kitchens were so great. It seems like the building is a nice mix of yuppies and families who have been here for decades. Neighbors are friendly and I haven't had problems with anyone here. The building itself is made wonderful by the security staff who are always so friendly and kind. Maintenance here is also great - I had a leak in my wall that was replastered and fixed within a day. I called in in the morning and came home to it done. The neighborhood feels mostly safe, but I'm glad the building has security because when it gets late there can be problems. I've heard a couple of screaming fights outside my window, and seen some people get arrested. Safeway, Whole Foods, and Capitol Market are all a short walk. If I wanted to keep living alone, I'd definitely stay here.
M Street Towers is an average apartment building, with very limited amenities. Pros - Great Location in NW, Walkable to Chinatown, McPherson Square Metro, 14 Street bars/restaurants, Mt. Vernon Square Metro. Laundry Unit inside of Building, Granite Countertops, Stainless Steel Appliances, water pressure from the shower is great. Cons - Near 2 Low Incoming Housing Units so you don't feel too safe at times. Live on the bottom floor so hear noises outside . We had a Mouse loose in the apartment for a few weeks. Layout of unit is not great, as the kitchen is large, living room is small, rooms are tiny, Gym shouldn't even be considered a gym as it has 5 machines total, with no water fountain in sight. Overall I would not live here again. They need to upgrade the units and hope that the neighbouring buildings are better.
