Property Ratings at Marc San Marcos
They don't give out more than one parking permit. If your family has more than one vehicle you can't park near here without getting towed.
This place seems amazing on the internet with all the really nice photos, but once you move in it’s a different story! They only care about you before you move in so they can have just another person filling their pockets. The office is completely unhelpful and has no follow through what so ever. They do not care about their tenants! What really made me lose my cool was when my storage unit got broken into and things stolen a couple days ago. I called the office to get some help, they did not care from the get go! They didn’t even get back to me with answers the same day! I had to call the next day and she didn’t even attempt to solve it the day I called her! Her suggestion was just to change the freaking lock!!! I filled a police report and she didn’t even care about that! We pay a pretty penny to live here and I regret moving in at all! They do not care! Like the other reviews say the key fabs never work. I called the office within the first week to get it fixed. They told me what I wanted to hear and never followed through to fix it. I’ve put in a few maintenance requests that haven’t been addressed, and I’ve ended up having to fix them myself. Next time I chose a place to move into I’m reading reviews because all the negative ones are 100% accurate!
Just left after living there for 8 months, if you’re considering leasing at these apartments.... RUN
I have been living here for over 1 year now and everything they have stated as an amenities is only partially true.. It is NOT a non-smoking property or secured gated community . The pot and cigarette smoking is out of control even though you sign your lease agreeing not to smoke in your apartment or on the property. Since day 1 of moving in, they have not been able to control the smoking issues.. The college kids they rent to make it so miserable to live here , they treat the property like it is there dorm or frat house, parties they have are out of control and they are the cause of all the 911 calls because our security is a JOKE.. anyone can break into the property the door gates are so low that you just need to stick your hand over and push the door open.. which is why all the homeless men across the street come in at night to sleep in the pool lounge area and we have had bicycles and motorcycles stolen even though we have so-called security cameras, the leasing staff always could not verify or assist with getting a clear shot of the criminal . The residents do not pick there dog poop and we do have a lot of dog stations and trash cans around the property but they are so lazy and inconsiderate , sometimes I see dog poop right next to a dog station that has more than bags !! they go to areas where there are NO cameras and continually let their dog use the bathroom . Be aware that you will be charged extra service fee's on top of your base rent.. expect to pay over $100-150.00 added to your base rent and that does not include your electric or cable.
I toured quite a few new apartment complexes in the San Marcos area, and fell in love with the Marc. I choose to go with a studio apartment instead of a 1 bedroom because the floor plan is so spacious. There is a large pool area, with plenty of patio furniture to lounge on. And, the gym is quite nice too. The staff in the office is very friendly and responsive. There is plenty to do near by, shopping, dining and lots of great walking/hiking trails. I could not be happier with my new home!
