As one of the oldest cities in the United States west of the Appalachians, Cincinnati offers residents contemporary urban living in a historic, distinctive setting. One of the oldest cities in the US houses an influential youth culture. Students, professionals, artists, and musicians of all walks of life come to the southwest corner of Ohio to live and work. College and professional sports are wildly popular, with the Bearcats of the University of Cincinnati, the Reds, and the Bengals enjoying huge fan bases in their hometown.
Renters and visitors alike will delight in attractions like the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Newport Aquarium, and the city’s iconic zoo. The annual Oktoberfest is one of the biggest celebrations of its kind outside of Munich, drawing thousands to the streets to celebrate the city’s German heritage.

Property Ratings at McCauly Crossing
Horrible experience. We were lied to at our initial walk through. We were told the papers we signed were just an application and to confirm our spot on the waitlist. A few months later we decided to rescind our waitlist spot and were told we had actually signed a lease. We didn’t even have a unit assigned to us. We asked to break this as we were still months out from the move in and were told we could not. The employees at the office were awful and rude. The apartment we got itself was disgusting. When we came to get the keys at the time they told us to be there we were turned away and told it was still being cleaned. We come back two hours later and the apartment we got was filthy. The employee who came with us to do the walk through even had to throw paper towels on the ceiling to knock cobwebs down. There was dirt all over the kitchen, pieces of the floor missing, and they hadn’t turned the water on. Throughout the year we lived there we had a horrible experience. The AC went out multiple times, the shower wall rotted and fell off, there were wasps in our unit all spring, management never salted in the winter so it was constantly iced over. Management was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unresponsive. There were so many hidden fees upon move in and move out. We couldn’t wait to end our lease. DO NOT live here.
At first glance, the apartment looked nice but the employee seemed nice. What they did not include in the tour was a list of the long and expensive non-refundable fees associated with the property so I thought I’d post them and pricing that were told to us only after asking. We were told a non refundable $399 admin fee, $100 application fee, non refundable $1000 pet fee (I’m not sure how you can claim to be pet friendly with this high of a non refundable fee), $100/month pet fee for 2 dogs, ~$250 for water/sewage/internet/trash/cable, $100-150 for electricity, and $700 or $1600 deposit. These are just the fees they told me after asking and wouldn’t be surprised if there were more hidden fees after signing. At the end of the day, all the fees made this apartment way more expensive than the other nicer apartments in the area, even with the $200/a month discount. Make sure you’re ok with these fees before touring the property.
Our apartment had mold and wasnt clean the first day we moved in. Nothing was done to accomodate.
Definitely NOT a five star community. It seemed okay when showing and they made the bundles and included utilities seem like a deal without mentioning that the trash valet (not optional) will run you $70 a month regardless if they actually pick up your trash or leave it at your door for a week. My apartment was 'recently renovated' and by that they mean they spray painted the cabinets black (it's mostly chipping off) and poorly laid some vinyl flooring. The apartment is not safe and is only quiet depending on where in the complex you live...Fields Ertel is a busy road and there is a fire station right next door. I will say the location is convenient to everything I need but I wish I had looked at more apartments...there are better apartments out there for this price range. ALSO it is not a 'special' to offer one month free rent if you ALWAYS offer it. As for the safety check out the wooded areas and you'll notice alcohol bottles discarded (meaning drunk people just wonder around the complex looking for cars to break into) also be sure to look at the lock on the apartment door!! I didn't notice until I moved in but it is weak.
Awful management, price gouging, and dishonest business! Never rent from a property owned by Conner Group!!!
Do. Not. Rent. Here. The apartments are advertised as luxury and upgraded, but they are far from it. There is a serious spider and fly problem and no one seems to care about the tenants. In addition, they intentionally hide fees from prospective tenants, you can ONLY use spectrum and you cannot pick the services you desire. They will tell you that it is included in rent, but it is in fact not. They charge $50 a month to have access to a dumpster and an additional $20 for valet service that, in the 2 months we've lived here, has not come a single time. The apartments are not cleaned, the carpet is old a dingy, the upgrades are really just slapping lipstick on a pig. I do not want anyone else to go through what we've been through. It is not worth it.
When we first moved in management was helpful and friendly, however all that changed after we started paying an outrageous amount in rent. Now it's hard to get ahold of them, they never call back, and it takes forever for them to do anything. We went months without working smoke detectors (they only gave us one for the whole apartment) and it took 3 weeks for them to get someone to come fix the flooring going into our bathroom. We can't even take our little dogs to play at the dog park because it is littered with dog crap from people that don't pick up after their dogs, there are piles of dog crap all over the property. They try to make everything sound great and cheap then when the first bill comes its double what you were told it was going to be. Don't get suckered like we did. We will be so glad when our lease is up because we are absolutely NOT renewing our lease.
I want to start with I read the reviews on this property. I saw that tenants complained about repeated harassment from the property managers when their lease was due for renewal. But I wanted to see the property for myself. BIG MISTAKE. I never should have gave these people my number. I literally had to block them because they will not stop calling me and texting me after I told them I haven't made up my mind. I have recieved calls and texts from Tara and Molly EVERYDAY since I saw their property a week ago. I don't even stay there and they are constantly trying to get me in to sign a lease, so I feel for those tenants that are experiencing this. Hopefully they see this and realize that im SERIOUS about not staying on their property.
A pathetic experience with the management group. I signed a six months lease & was waiting to get over those 6 months. 1.)They are all sweet talkers that will make you fall into a trap of signing a lease the same day. 2.)Dirtiest apartment given to me, they did not even bother to shampoo the carpet before i moved in. Thank god i brought it to immediate attention & they did not charge me for that. They took a work order to clean the apartment & it took them 2 months to complete the work order. 3.)Hidden costs from first billing. I rented a single bedroom apartment & i was paying $210.00/month(water,sewer,thrash,internet). When signing the lease i was told this would be around $150.00 4.)3 months before the lease getting over i started getting texts, management showing up on my door, phonecalls all to extend the lease. Basically a harassment for extending a lease. 5.) I got my security deposit check after 4 months after repeated calling and pleading to get my own money back. 6.)i paid a security deposit of $500.00 from which they deducted $274 just for 21 days of utilities(not including electricity). They put a cancellation fee for 25.00 which is no where mentioned in lease. This is an honest review about these guys, please don't fall for the sweet talkers but shop around as you will find very good deals.
It’s the worst place that I rented. The maintenance is bad. The customer services is bad. They don’t fix anything if you decide to not renew the contract.
This place is bad. The dumpsters overflow almost every other day and they just leave trash all around them. You have to pay extra for a trash pickup service due to too many tenants keeping trash in their home, but they will only pick up one bag 3 times a week. You have to use first billing, a company that lumps Cable sewage and water all together with no way out of any of them. IT took 6 months to fix the air conditioning. These are just the obvious problems that you’re going to have to deal with. I feel sorry for anyone already locked into a lease at this place, don’t let it be you. After I cleaned my apartment they took HALF of my deposit to clean again and to make repairs for the new tenant.
If I could give this apartment complex a rating of zero, I absolutely would.. For the most part the complex was very quiet, however please be aware of all of the charges that you will occur as a result of staying there. They require for you to pay first billing services which is a combination of various fees not related to your apartment such as trash and sewage in addition to trash valet, common electric, water internet and cable bundle, administrative fees etc. etc.You also have to pay Sharonville taxes in which I was never informed about. You are required to give a two month notice in which I did. I received my move-out checklist which I was charged for items that were not legitimate. I was charged for broken blinds, which I never touched the blinds in my second bedroom (as my second bedroom was just used for storage) I was also charged for broken blinds for the living room which was false, I left the blinds perfectly in tact. I was charged $75.00 for bath tub cleaning which was false. I personally got on my hands and knees and made sure that I cleaned the bathtub with bleach and comet as I always have. I understand that all properties must have the carpet cleaned however, I was charged $300.00 for that and $150.00 for leaving a tv mount. I certainly understand having to be charged for leaving a tv mount. However, what they did was excessive, unfair and just plain wrong. I have always been a great tenant and for them to treat in my this manner and just unkind. I just wanted them to do the right thing by me and they didn't. I left the apartment in better condition than I received it, even purchased new drip pans for the new tenants, it was in great condition other than leaving a tv mount!
I have been a resident at McCauley crossings for six and a half years . The grounds are beautiful the lake . The office people are very helpful and friendly . The neighbors are very nice. It's quiet here .... I like the location very easy to get on the highway 71 and 275 .
Far from luxury. I would not recommend this complex to anyone.
This place is bad. Trash that overflows almost every other day. You have to pay extra for a trash pickup service due to too many tenants keeping trash in their home You have to pay first billing a company that lumps Cable sewage and water all together with no way out of any of them. Raccoons seem to roam the neighborhood night and day. These are just the obvious problems right off the bat you’re going to have to deal with. I feel sorry for anyone already locked into a lease at this place don’t let it be you
moved from Charleston, SC to help my sister with her soup business. Megan and Valerie have been such a great help, with finding my new apartment and getting settled in. Thank you ladies for all the help. Also, I absolutely love my new place!
Consider this your Fair Warning!!! Do NOT make the same mistake I did.... keep looking, you can live in a trailer park and have a better, more sanitary experience! McCauly Crossing is a 1 star complex. It is over run with feral cats. The management is horrible, they do nothing about problems. They'll avoid you when you bring forward a complaint, they ignore your calls. There is a serious health issue at this complex that the management is refusing to deal with. I do not suggest ANYONE lives here, especially those with dogs, as it is dangerous, unsanitary, and a health issue to have the complex overrun with feral cats and raccoons. The management has been aware of the problem for over a year, and has refused to take responsibility. They even know the tenant who is feeding the 15 cats, yet they refuse to take action against them. Horrible customer service, horrible place to live. Feral cats spread diseases!!!!!!
I have lived here for 5 years, this is a very nice place to live, great pool and workout center, the front office manager's are awesome ! Maintenance issues are taken care of a.s.a.p. and the maintenance employees are very good at what they do. Sometimes other residents can get on your nerves but, that is apartment living. The only thing i don't like is the First Billing charges (water, cable, trash etc.), but again, that is apartment living. I plan on staying here for a while, i'm very happy here !
I have lived at McCauley Crossings for 5 years . I enjoy coming home to McCauley Crossings. The office people are very helpful. Mandy is a wonderful manager. I feel like when I'm at McCauley I am part of the family in the office and how well they take care of us here.
Worst apartment experience I have ever had. Apartments are no where near luxury, let alone reasonable quality. Over half the windows had dirt between the panes (where they can’t be cleaned) because they are cracked around the edges. The tiles around the fireplace are cracked and loose (even after they “fixed” them). And they require you to purchase cable through a scam called First Billing (they call it a convenience...). They force you into purchasing your water, trash, electricity, and CABLE and INTERNET through them, with no options, even if you want to buy from another provider or get a different internet/cable bundle. And they give you no way out of your lease (typically 1-2 months rent at all 6 of the other places I have lived). This means that even when you are forced to move, such as for your job, you are required to keep paying rent for the remainder of your lease. INCLUDING over $300/month for CABLE and INTERNET that you can’t use even if you wanted to. The best part is when the final bill came in, First Billing has even more hidden fees for ENDING their services even when your lease is up. To top it all off, their trash service is a joke. The single dumpster for the entire complex is emptied maybe twice a month and frequently fills and overflows over 5ft past the loading sidewalk, and doggie bag trash cans had bags piled over the lid because the bin underneath was full. TL;DR One star is not low enough for the scam this place is running. If you even consider giving them a try (please don’t) be sure to ask in depth about First Billing (and get it in writing) and their nonexistent lease termination clauses in the event life happens and you need to move.
always delay in service , you are bind to take spectrum service for internet in 99 dolar. Duke energy bills are way high. very old heating system. we are waiting for lease to complete. Big disappointment :(
First of all, please know that they PAY residents to give a good review.... Now, there is a horrible ferret cat problem. Potential Residents NEED to be aware of this before moving in and getting stuck in a lease, like many of us now are realizing. Management has done absolutely nothing about these cats that are aggressive and spread diseases. Crawling out of the dumpster, trying to attack your dogs. The management is even aware of the resident(s) that are feeding the cats and no action has been taken. Management is horrible/so hands off. Huge turn over rate, never the same faces. Nice if you never need anything though? It’s extremely trashy for the insane price we pay. A random dumpster just sitting in the parking lot of the gym area? So disgusting. Trash is always overflowing too. I do like the location as it is easy highway access. That is about it for McCauly Crossing.
Living at McCauly Crossing has changed my life. Not only is it beautiful to look at but its also the most cozy and homely apartment ever. I have a lake view where I go out on my patio to enjoy my firepit while the sound of the lake is soothing and relaxing. The space is unbelievable with lots of room to share with family. I sleep peacefully knowing Im in a safe and secured environment. There are major highways close by and Im minutes away from my favorite stores for shopping. The representatives at the rental office are professional, friendly and very supportive. The ladies are attentive to my needs and responds quickly to any problems or issues that may occur. I absolutely love my new home and would refer this place to anyone who's looking for a quite, cozy and convenient place to live.
Don't make the same mistake I did. I was new to the area, so I didn't have the opportunity to really check out other apartments in the area, which led me to getting a lease (getting fleeced at every turn) from these jokers. First and foremost the rent is through the roof. Comparable apartments can be found for $100 less per month. Then comes the absurd amount of activation, termination, administration, and "convenience" fees. If you like Ticketmaster, the you'll love this place. After all that they still have the nerve to force you into a cable/internet package that only a fool would negotiate (or maybe they are getting kick-backs). The rental girl will be sure to gloss over that as quickly as possible. The apartments themselves are made of what very well could be cardboard. Feel like being awoken in the middle of the night because someone if using the stairs attached to your wall? Then this place is for you. Maybe you like to hear your neighbors in the bathroom every morning. If so, then you've found your match. The only nice thing about the apartments is the bathtub - it's yuuge. Everything else is seemingly built with the cheapest materials legally available. The people in the rental office will treat you with contempt for asking anything. I required you to perform your job? So very sorry. I had two silly maintenance requests when I first moved in, combined they would have taken 10 minutes, but they were never attempted. Only sign a lease here if you're one of those people who gets off from others taking advantage of you. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place with staff who will respect you, KEEP LOOKING.
I'm dumbfounded at how poorly managed this community has become. Not only was my privacy violated on more then one occasion without an agreed upon 24 hour notice as indicated within our lease agreement but I was also told bold faced lies. I have given up on McCauly making things right because at every turn during my last months there, McCauly has been extremely dishonest and down right shady. Trying to pressure me into signing a lease 2 months early because they knew they were about to do a major remodel which included taking out stairs, and people climbing up ladders onto my balcony for the entire last month I was there. I'm so glad I didn't renew my lease and get stuck there for what the office person sheepishly informed me would be a remodel that took up to 6 months. They also say that cable and Internet is "included/bundled", nope it's a forced purchase, you are put into a corporate account at TWC for a very basic plan that includes no equipment fees, and you end up paying for, water, sewer, trash, common eclectic, and other fees, almost $200 more a month. That's not including equipment fees from TWC and your electricity bill. For a tiny one bedroom I NEVER paid LESS then $130 for electricity it was so poorly insulated. When I turned in my keys I specifically asked the girl about painting the walls. I said I painted over the dark walls but the lighter ones I left because those will be easy to paint over. I was told, that's perfect, and that was what they told me to do when I signed the lease. I get my move out invoice, the charge for "rent" the 3 days in July I moved in late because the apartment wasn't ready, that I didn't think was a big deal on the front end was $80.23, even though I ended my lease July 1. Which ok my bad for being absent minded and not thinking about how a shady operation could get more money out of me. They charged me $100 for painting, when they have to paint everything anyway (that was the 3 day hold up when I moved in). Anyway, $4.77 for the before mentioned utilities for the 3 days in July (I wasn't living there at the time mind you), $15.00 for drip pans, that comes to, let me see what would be a convenient number? Of course my deposit was $200. That convenient enough for you? Shady! DO NOT rope yourself into signing a lease with these people. Everything is dirty, in disrepair, overcharged and you can never got a hold of the office.
The community sits close to three major tri-state highways and three different major shopping areas, so is convenient for commuters and homemakers. There are some gorgeous views and I love my neighbors, which isn't something I've been able to say before. They are a little short-staffed right now and falling behind on some property maintenance, but I'm confident that will soon be resolved.
I have been in this complex for almost 3 years. Overall very satisfied with the complex. Rent is a little high for a one bedroom but the location is worth it. Buildings are constrcuted very well, I have never heard my upstairs neighboor walking around. Office staff have been very consistent and easy to work with and addressed issues quickly, including any maintence issuses within 24 hours.
As the title says, it's a pretty good complex in all facets. I'm 25, live with my girlfriend, and we are plenty comfortable living in a single. There is plenty of room, the kitchen is amazing, and utilities work well. It's in a great location, assuming you dont want to go downtown every night for drinks. Almost anything you could want within a 10 minute drive, and you can be downtown in 30. Overall, it's really nice place to live, for a pretty solid price. I happily resigned my lease after the 1st year.
Close to 2 major highways and a vibrant suburban neighborhood of Mason Ohio. Home to the amusement park Kings Island! A nice and quiet place to live with friendly neighbors and apartment staff. Very reasonable rates for the location and the area you are in.
