A southern suburb of Baltimore, South Gate maintains a quiet serenity in its residential blocks lined with Maryland greenery. Commercial districts located throughout the area are set apart from houses and apartments to create a perfect blend of peaceful living and nearby convenience.
South Gate residents can choose to take advantage of local entertainment, or head east to the beautiful vistas along the Chesapeake Bay, north into Baltimore, or southwest into Washington DC, meaning there's always something to do just around the corner. Mid-rise apartments and new single-family homes maintain the area’s reputation as a family-friendly spot just outside the cultural hearts of the Maryland-DC area.

Property Ratings at The Elms at Old Mill
I have been living at Old Mill for over 5 years and have loved every bit. The community is close to my job and walking distance to my kids school. We love the resident socials the office has for the community as well.
I had the pleasure of living at the Elms at Old Mill Apartments for a year, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Here are some of the reasons why I loved living there: 1. Beautiful Location: The Elms at Old Mill Apartments are situated in a serene and peaceful location that is surrounded by lush greenery. The apartment complex is nestled in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to nearby highschool for my little sister, restaurants, and grocery stores. Here are my reasons for giving it a 5-star review: 1 Spacious and Comfortable Living Space: The apartment is spacious and well-designed, making it feel like a home away from home. The living room was comfortable and inviting, and the bedroom was cozy and relaxing. The large windows let in plenty of natural light, which made the space feel even more open and airy. 2. Friendly and Helpful Staff: The staff at the Elms at Old Mill Apartments are some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever encountered. They were always available to answer any questions or concerns I had and were very prompt in responding to any maintenance requests. 3. Great Community: Living at the Elms at Old Mill Apartments gave me the opportunity to be part of a wonderful community. The complex regularly hosts events and gatherings for residents, which was a great way to meet my neighbors and make new friends. Overall, I loved living at the Elms at Old Mill Apartments and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to call home. It truly exceeded my expectations in every way, and I would gladly move back in if I ever had the opportunity.
Old Mill is the place to live. The staff is great and the community is always nice and clean. Its convenient to all the local stores and highways. I chose this location to be closer to my family and its been perfect!
I love the updated stainless steel in my apartment home and full size washer and dryer. I have lived here for almost a year this coming summer and i love living here at Old Mill. the staff is friendly and so helpful. They have had some really nice resident events. Im excited for the food trucks to come!

The staff is very rude and unprofessional!! They will be nice to get you to sign then their true colors start to show. It’s all about bringing in more money. They don’t care about you they just need the vacant apartment filled. The listing states there is a fitness center and picnic area, neither of those are true. The pool is crappy and needs to be shaved. Therefore the bottom is very bumpy and rough so kids constantly cut their feet. The stairways are dirty and smell. There’s tons of bugs due to all the food and trash left behind. High school kids are constantly doing drugs in the stairwell. Maintenance will come and half fix whatever you need. Don’t expect a true repair or anything. These apartments are overpriced for the area because they offer less features then similar apartments. Look elsewhere to avoid the headache!

The Elms at Old Mill is the nicest apartments I have ever lived. It is convenient to so many things, either by driving or walking. The staff is great, very friendly and knowledgeable and during the past few snow storms the maintenance crew did a wonderful job keeping the sidewalks clean and the parking lot ready. This is a great place to live....Move here !

I went to the complex with my husband to look around. A yound lady names Donnice helped us. Now my husband is a talker and had all the questions in the world but the young lady that helped us did not flinch a bit. She answered all his questions and even added a few details that we didn't think to ask. We have a few more properties to look at but this one is at the very top. Loved the apartments and upgrades.

The maintenance Manager Lewis came to our apartment to fix the furnace last month and it never worked better. Thank him for the work. On a subsequent visit on a Sunday July 9th on his day off, he came to fix a part that caused our furnace to no generate cool air. He came and meticulously correct the problem, replace a part and then made it cool as Alaska in our apartment. Once again my husband and I that him for all his care and providing us with professional service. Mrs. Wanda Belton
The Elms at Old Mill had only gotten better since we moved here 7 months ago. Very family-oriented area and staff and maintenance are very friendly.
We just leased an apartment at Millpond and could not be happier. Ronique was so open, patient, and honest when taking us through the apartments on our tour. Millpond had exactly what we were looking for at a great price. We checked a few other apartment complexes nearby but appreciated the classy upgrades that the newly renovated apartments displayed at Millpond. Also, it seem a little more quiet than some of the other apartment complexes nearby.
This is a great place to live. Quiet and the rental staff are wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone

Haven't rented an apartment since the 80's. Still don't understand why they can charge the same rent for an old outdated unit compared to a newly renovated one. Maintenance has repaired all of the issues I have had to date. If these apartments can be outdated and not up to codes, the rent cap the had years ago needs to be revisited. America needs to bring this to the forefront.
We moved into this apartment at the end of July. The neighbors are friendly, the landscape of the property is beautiful, the leasing agents are friendly and maintenance is friendly and responsive. The problems we had were within the unit itself. The air conditioning unit, dryer, and stove broke the second week after we moved in. The dryer and stove were repaired immediately, the a/c however was another story. Although maintenance attempted on multiple occasions to repair it, the problem was not successfully fixed. The positive side of this glitch is that they replaced our unit and credited our rent $100.00 the negative side is that it took a month to do so. I suggest anyone lacking patience pay the extra money and get a renovated unit. Other than these minor issues, I love it here! The community is pet friendly, and super convenient with a grocery store, and small plaza within walking distance, not to mention both 97 and 100 (major highways). I never hear my neighbors or their pets which is amazing to me since there are quite a few dogs in my building. The pool is great and there is a nice playground on site. There is also a tennis court which I haven't used yet but took a glance and it's a nice touch to the scenery. I can honestly say I enjoy the living environment and for less than $1,200.00 a month in Anne Arundel County that is not an easy find!
Conveniently located close to Baltimore and Annapolis these apartments are not only priced better than most in the area, they are bigger. Eat in kitchens with gas ranges as well as an actual dining room in the two bedroom unit. Washer/dryer included. Make sure you add these to your list if you are looking in this area.
Millpond apartments is in a great location, close to major highways. Schools, and grocery stores are within walking distance. We had a pool party at the beginning of summer at the complex. .No security deposit, or only 89.00 sure deposit, which is nothing. It's clean and quiet.Beautiful pine trees everywhere. Love it!
