Property Ratings at Morningside
I was considering renting there. walked around first, and talked to some tenants. Maintenance is non existent. Appliances and AC's don't work. Once you are in there staff is rude if you ask for anything to be repaired. You can walk around and see storm damage from months ago is still not repaired.
We live in a 1 bed/1 bath that has not been renovated. It's the perfect size for one person or a couple. We never have a problem hearing neighbors, and the complex is pretty quiet. Each apartment has a washer and dryer hookup, as well as on-site laundry. The dryer "vent" is literally a hole in the floor, which is weird but Im sure it could be covered. The a/c is basically a large window unit that vents into the bedroom, ours does not work very well. The electricity? may be wired incorrectly, the ceiling fans hum and bulbs tend to blowout frequently. Our bathroom fan whistles whenever the light is on, that may just be our unit. The shower drain is slow, maintenance said it was just how the drainage pipes are set up. Definitely be proactive about bugs, just like with any apartment complex. They spray sometimes, but not regularly. The apartment itself is very cheaply built and low quality, but you get what you pay for. The property is not very well maintained, there is always garbage. Our building is in the back, so maybe they just don't notice. The walkways are NOT well lit, one light is broken entirely, a few have dead bulbs, so I don't go out at night. Just a few facts, they really aren't dealbreakers if you need a cheap apartment or have a previous eviction.
everything looks nice and home like but something i found unattractive was the people that was supposed to help you out they seem lazy. although that was that something i really disliked was that the rent goes up whenever they please. the lady informed me it has went up about 2-4x this past year and its ONLY March of 2017 like thats crazy i think, but I'm glad i got the information before i paid the application fee and run into that surprise. happy hunting ????
great quiet little community , nice for retirees and people that don't want upstairs neighbors , because of the single floor plans only , no loud trains or airports to speak of and water is included with the rent , small quaint means the heating and cooling bills are minimal from $30 to $120 a month so you will like that on top of affordable rental terms .
