As one of the major economic centers of Alabama and one of the signature cities of the Southeast, Birmingham has done an impressive job of adapting to the new demands of the 21st century. The city that once built a reputation as the “Pittsburgh of the South” thanks to a robust steel manufacturing industry is now a hip community attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and innovative personalities. Birmingham remains one of the most active business hubs in the region, with headquarters for everything from banks to biotech firms operating in the city.
The dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes have all grown rapidly in recent years, and just about everyone in town has an opinion about where to find the best brewery. Gorgeously preserved historic buildings and a pervasive attitude of down-home hospitality have kept Birmingham’s famous southern charm intact as well, creating a unique environment where the best elements of the traditional and the modern complement each other.

Property Ratings at Valley Station Apartment Homes
I have been a resident at now Vida on Valley prior Nob Hill Apartment Homes. I have not seen so much work and dedication to rehabilitation of an old Apartment complex than I am right now. I have been a tenant for a very long time and have seen prior owners patch up the problems but the new owners are dedicated to making this community stand out and be recognized as a livable and affordable place to live. I can truly say that as a long time resident I can now recommend Vida On Valley to anyone who's looking for a nice place to live and so far thats what I see. Truth In Living Truth In my Recommendation. Try Vida not the same old place it use to be. Lorie

Thank you so much for sharing this. We are truly hoping to make this community the best it can be. So many more exciting things to come!
Moved in at the end of January 2020, door keeps getting across from me. Random people have been in my apartment, management laughed it off, refrigerator keeps going out wont fix it or replace it. When tried to explain to leasing agent she laughed it off (very unprofessional) only time ive gotten something fix i had i spoken to the property manager.... carpet wasn’t cleaned or replaced before I moved in? still til this day smells like a dog... over priced for an old building... your paying to stay in homewood but its Birmingham.... Never make a decision in a hurry...
Rented a renovated 3 bedroom at the beginning of the year and have had problems since the day we moved in. We've fished cigarette butts out of the drains and had raw sewage flowing past our front door. The vent to replace the air filter for the unit was painted over so God only knows when it was replaced. Roaches are everywhere even though we supposedly pay for pest control. The unit above us has like 12 kids living in it that run around from 6am-2am and we've noticed dents in the ceiling from the last tenant banging against it because of the noise.
This place is horrible , never move here, maintenance is horrible and apartments are old!!!
I've lived here for 3 years and this is most definitely the worst place I've ever lived. The unit reeked of weed upon moving in and hasn't gotten any better despite talking with management, we sent a list of items to be repaired upon move in and have yet to get any of that done 3 years later. Maintenance cemented our pet under the floor while I was gone, leaving my pet underneath for 10 hours and Management proceeded to offer no help, leaving me to destroy the floor in order to save my pet. Management also doesn't' seem to care about the breed restrictions they set as there are dozens of bully breed dogs in the complex and they seem to be fine with the drug use as well. I'd highly recommend looking at other complexes as I certainly will after my lease is up.
They are terrible!!! I bought a 3 bedroom renovated unit. A couple days after moving in I constantly saw roaches. Two weeks after I moved in I saw mice. Management is awful. They take their time following up on urgent issues (mice and roaches). My rent was to high to be dealing with those issues. After threatening them with the health department and news coverage they let me out of my lease without penalties. P.S. the mice were in the walls and traveling up to my second story apartment. My neighbors had the same problems. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!
Haven't been here long.Still haven't received my stove.Jus recently got my mailbox key after about a month.Going around to the rental office to see how long its going to take to receive stove.Maintenance man came thru Friday at 12 noon.Claimed he was checking the key on the door to make sure it works to bring the stove.Still no stove. So I don't know what is really going on.Respond
This is an older complex built on a hillside but is a very short walk to the bus line. Within a quarter mile are a number of restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and other shopping options. The property recently come under new management/ownership and they are working very hard to make upgrades. During the Spring and Summer of 2015, new roofs were put on all buildings and the decks were replaced. The maintenance staff is very efficient in responding to "important" issues, but sometimes minor issues may take a few days to be addressed. There is occasionally some trash around the property but maintenance makes a very visible effort to keep the place up. During the hottest days residents seem to take advantage of the pool, but the area is usually empty. The water in the pool appears to need some attention. The staff is welcoming and takes the time to learn the residents' names. A new, two unit computer center was was established behind the office this summer as part of the upgrades. Additionally, the six washer and dryer laundry room was re-floored. On the down side, there was a period of almost two months that the gas dryers were unusable. The staff needs to be a little more vigilant about the cleanliness of the laundry room and the lighting of the area immediately outside. It can get very dark and hard to see the steps. There are families young and old as well as single occupants. In the year that I've lived here I've not encountered any issues with loud noises, crimes, or other annoyances. The local police routinely patrol the area and have a positive relationship with tenants. There are a few different types of floor plans available. My unit has two bedrooms, one bath, and a sink/wash area in the master bedroom. There is ample closet space. New carpet was installed and walls painted before moving in. Rent seems very reasonable in comparison to other properties in the area.
This is my first time renting a apartment. The people in the facility was very clear and helpful with what I should do and how to go about it. My apartment itself is beautiful. It is newly renovated and it had almost everything I ask for in my first new apartment. I can't wait for my finish look of my apartment.
