Roseland provides a wooded retreat about eight miles northwest of Newark. With its brick-paved sidewalks and historic storefronts, Roseland is a pretty community that entices residents to get out for a stroll. Consistently ranking as one of the best places to live in New Jersey, Roseland contains historic homes along tree-lined streets, easy commutes, and a fascinating history.

Dating back to 1702, Roseland was part of the Horseneck Tract of Essex County. Settlers were able to obtain the 14,000 acres from the Lenni Lenape for a trade of some goods that totaled about $325. Roseland was named in 1874 and it incorporated in 1908. Today, Roseland is known for its good schools, great parks, and easy access to Newark, via the highway or by bus.

After moving to Roseland, be sure to visit Becker Park, a large natural area that leads to Piker Hill Art Park, home to several unusual outdoor sculptures, and to Riker Hill Fossil Site, where you can view preserved dinosaur tracks and fossils.

I wish I could give this place zero stars.

Management is very unprofessional and unresponsive. Their prices are way too high for the services they provide. They charged us almost $600 for the amenities during Covid when nothing was even open. They charged us for something in the apartment that the previous tenant installed. I could go on, but I am sure you get the point.

Poor management makes this property undesirable

The one-star review is for management and the ridiculous way that they treat residents. My wife and I have been living here for three years, and there have been four leasing managers in that time — getting worse with each turnover. Management is greedy and cares about nothing other than getting as much possible out of residents. They do not care about resident loyalty and increase rent year after year at the maximum allowed rate, including during this pandemic, which I find to be extremely callous. Also, due to the COVID pandemic, the gym was closed for most of the year and the pool was not open this summer. Management refunded only $225 of the total $525 yearly mandatory amenity fee for amenities that we have been largely unable to use (and we have no desire to workout indoors at the gym during the pandemic anyways). Our lease renewed in October and we tried to talk to management about how it is unreasonable to ask for an amenity fee under the circumstances as we wouldn’t be using the gym due to COVID. They didn’t care or bother to respond in a reasonable time and made us pay the $525 anyways — despite the fact that we specifically did not sign the amenity fee addendum to the lease. They’ve been providing medical waivers to others for the amenity fee, so we cannot understand this unfair treatment.

I love it here

I’ve lived here for a few years now and I truly love it. My home is fully renovated and any issue I have Tameeka takes care of it with her amazing customer service and professionalism. The new gym and pool are amazing too

Happy Resident for 14 years!!

It's hard to believe anyone can complain about Nob Hill! The staff is superb and the maintenance is the BEST! Living here has spoiled me and hope that I never have to move. I look forward to coming home every day. :-)

Wonderful apartment community!

Recently moved but have lived in Nob Hill for 4+ years. Short and sweet this complex is a great place to live. Location to major intersection 280 only 2 min away. Apartments and community is quiet, safe and relaxing. Maintenance staff so helpful and the grounds are beautifully kept. Apt. amenities are a real plus and hard to find. Segal & Segal Property Management Co., 5 Stars??????????
