La Grange is overflowing with small-town charm, and despite its population of just under 9,000, there are plenty of conveniences and amenities that one might expect from a city more than twice its size.
La Grange’s Main Street is lined with historic buildings of all styles, but it has one feature that other small towns don’t: there’s a mainline train track that runs right along Main Street through La Grange’s downtown, and it is always a spectacle. La Grange is also known for the smell of freshly roasted coffee that drifts over the town thanks to La Grange Coffee Roasters. Grab a brew, watch the train roll by, and explore the rest of the boutiques and restaurants in the area.
The surrounding residential area of La Grange is largely newer developments that are full of traditional homes and apartments of all sizes. Louisville is just 30 minutes away via I-71 if the city starts calling your name.

Property Ratings at Oldham Oaks
I love living here. I commute to Louisville daily, and I thought about moving closer, but I just don't want to leave. I have renewed my lease twice now. Been here for over 4 years. New management is awesome, and the property is kept up really well.
Nothing but hidden fees, they don’t care about the people living here and had our vehicles broken into more than 5 times
My family and I love living here. Excellent community, and management onsite is wonderful. Very responsive, and the office staff truly cares about the tenants and community.
Beware. I was charged $7300 for breaking my lease early. I had a loved one to pass and I had no other option. Not only did the "manager" charge me crazy fees but the stay there was miserable , if you have a problem and try to call they wont awnser. They wont take the trash out, they wont clean the dog poop up, they wont clear the ice off the parking lot, they wont fix things broken in your apartment. They wont fix the online payment program so that you wont get charged late fees. I moved out on time but still charged additional 2 months and fees. They charged me for everything under the sun. - the picture below will explain. Then the day I moved out they sent a dept collector after me, on day one! I paid the $3000 on the right hand side so far with this balance. The 3k that I paid was the first early cancellation fee. 3k plus the 4300 - there are several. Oldham county grapevine on Facebook is trying to shutdown this establishment , so that other working class citizens wont get taken advantage of.
Worst place I've ever lived. You'll be lucky if Maintenance ever comes to fix anything. You'll be lucky if you can ever get a decent parking space (because they clearly didn't make enough spaces) oh and be warned they'll tow your car if it inconveniences them while they do their pointless "renovations" that change nothing. For the money I pay I would've so much rather just bought a house. Or got an apartment actually worth my money.
Wonderful location in Oldham county school district. Easy access to interstate 71. Apartments are spacious, and I love the granite countertops. Grounds are well-kept and management is very receptive, present, and personable. My kids love the playground and pool, and I love that I have a really nice place to workout right where I live.
I have lived here for 7 months and it has been the best choice I ever made. The apartment is so spacious. Sonya and the staff are great. I would and have recommended these apartments to people I have met. Love the fact I have a playground, basket court and pool.
My husband and I have lived here almost 3 years. We’ve had several management changes but ever since Sonya came to work here, she’s really tried her best to be on everyone’s side. She does what needs to be done but also realizes that everyone’s human. She’s sympathetic to situations, is informative when something needs to be passed down and isn’t afraid to pass bad news if need be. She’s very easy to talk to and made some hardships in our lives less difficult to handle because she treated us like humans. While we’re ready for our next chapter, we are thankful for the time she’s spent with us!
We just moved into Oldham Oaks last week and could not be happier with the quality of service we have received. Sonya made the move in process as easy as possible and even came in on a Saturday morning to get everything finalized. The facilities are beautiful and look exactly like the pictures posted on the website. There were two minor issues upon move-in with the apartment and the maintenance requests were completed in the same day. Could not give a better recommendation!
We have been renting at Oldham Oaks apartments now for 3 years and I have been so pleased with the overall service from the hospitality of the front office down to the maintenance and upkeeping of the area. Most of all the security of the area is safe place for children, Not to mention the pool and the fitness center are truly a blessing. Overall I highly recommend for anyone to highly consider living here.
Great area outside of Louisville. Love my apartment and the staff here at Oldham Oaks... the front office is always pleasant and accommodating and maintenance is quick to respond. Love the views and the access to the Greenway. Reasonable rents for a nice apartment
Now they want to charge us for blinds that were falling apart when we moved it. worst place to live. Move back with your parents. Move into a shelter. Move into a tent on the edge of town. BUT DON'T MOVE INTO OLDHAM OAKS.
Don’t rent here! Poorly managed, thin floors, not insulated, and they do not care about their residents.
They make everything seem so nice and sweet, the people in the office have no business being in customer service, before going in to turn in a notice to end my lease early because our a/c has been out twice this week and their 24/7 ‘maintenance’ is a joke. They have the A/C people in TWO WEEKS after the a/c goes out in the middle of summer, their solution was a small window unit for a bedroom.... they charge for new carpet? It’s supposed to be luxurious.... you pay extra for pool passes that are supposed to be included and trying to talk on the phone with these people is just ridiculous. Sometimes the trash valet won’t pick up the trash for two days in their assigned days. This place is a joke!!
Watch out for this group. There were several things wrong while living here such as barging into your apartment randomly, but when I moved out they tried to get me to pay $4000 in damages and a illegal pet fee which I never had. The carpet was not replaced before I moved in and they want to stick me for the bill of remodeling it. I have heard this has happened to a lot of people who have lived here. They cannot keep property managers probably because they see the scam and fraud they pull on their tenets. I would never recommend this. The matter has been placed with my attorney at this point and I have lots of pictures of when I moved in and when I moved out. It was left in better condition when I moved out than when I moved in.
This complex has been marketed as "luxury" but the only thing that remotely resembles that title is the cost. I concur with the other reviewers, the apartments are poorly constructed and poorly run. Be prepared for noisy days and nights. Due to poor insulation between floors, you will hear your neighbors every move, from their footsteps, to their fan and their flushes. You will fight for a parking space each day and whilst a parking permit is required, their enforcement is lax at best. You will have leaky sinks, broken air conditioning units, noisy appliances and piles of furniture by the dumpster. You are responsible for changing your own air filters and due to size, you cannot purchase them locally. Do not sign your lease until you have done a full review of your unit or you will end up stuck.
Looks really nice but very poorly built, noise level is horrible, people have dogs that howl and cry while they are gone during the day, parking is next to impossible. When you complain to management they laugh and say there is nothing they can do.
New owners are refusing to pay security deposit back. This is happening to several people. Fraudulent charges on my account. Tried to say we broke a lease. False. Tried to charge for late rent- never late. Won't respond to certified letter disputing charge. Tyler in the office is clueless at best. Beware!
This company cares about their residence. They make you feel like part of a real community!
I moved into a 2 bedroom apartment at Oldham Oaks about 2 months ago. So far I am not impressed with the staff or the services. I asked for a two bedroom apartment that was new. I was told there were none that had not been lived in but was shown one that "had only been lived in 2 months". I accepted that apartment and moved in. The apartment was dirty but was told by the girl (yes, girl) that apparently runs the office that it had been cleaned and she had inspected it herself. The bathtubs had dirt rings! There were splatters on the walls and doors! The carpet was dirty! They did agree to come shampoo the carpet at the front entry and at the entry to the kitchen. I had to clean the rest of the apartment myself! It snowed last night and the parking lot wasn't cleared at all. I actually slid out of the parking lot onto the highway this morning when going to work! The entrance to the apartment complex was so icy I couldn't stop my car! The rent is rather high for the area so I had higher expectations!!!!
Brand new fabulous complex, with lovely granite countertops, and a vaulted ceiling. Beautiful view of a rolling pasture, off the deck. Gorgeous pool, and grounds. Quiet and peaceful. Only 2 miles from I-71, 20 minutes to Louisville! Quaint Historic downtown Lagrange 2 miles away with convenient shopping.
