Located about five miles west of the University of South Florida, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Adventure Island, and University Mall, the charming Carrollwood neighborhood is convenient to everything Tampa has to offer, but slightly removed to be a peaceful escape at the end of the day. A portion of Lake Carroll extends into the neighborhood on its west side, providing beautiful views for those selecting rentals near the lake. Dale Mabry Highway, which forms the neighborhood's western border, provides ample shops and restaurants for residents.
Carrollwood is convenient for commuters, situated about nine miles northwest of downtown Tampa and less than 10 miles northeast of Tampa International Airport. Residents of Carrollwood are also close to Tampa's Lowery Park Zoo, and the beaches -- including popular Honeymoon Island State Park and Caladesi Island State Park -- are only about 20 miles west.

No one picks up the phone. Maintenance requests have to be called in multiple times. System error with paying rent online causes false late payments and they refuse to remove $100 late fee

BEWARE OF RATS!!!!!!! This place is DISGUSTING, I’ve called 2 months ago about rats chewing through the walls in my kitchen and was told an exterminator was going to come out but NEVER did. We caught one rat and after calling over & over again maintence came in and put a small piece of wood to cover the opening. The rats have chewed through the wood again & STILL no Exterminator. My 6 year old daughter is terrified to fall asleep at night because she’s afraid the rats are going to come in her room and honestly I am too. There’s also a horrible spider, roach & ant problem. They will say they’ll put you on the list for pest control but no one ever comes. & if you put a work order in it takes maintence forever to come and when they finally do come they will make up some excuse about coming back to fix it and never do but will change the work order to completed. Whenever you call the leasing office you have to call multiple times at different times of the day to MAYBE get someone to answer. They are CONSTANTLY shutting off the water without barely any notice at the most important times of the day, there have been so many times when I have to go shower at my gym before work because they shut the water off again. The AC is horrible and is constantly breaking, there have been so many times where my ac is stuck at 80+ degrees. My bike was stolen off my second floor balcony because someone cut through the screen and opened the door to take my bike & maintenance still hasn’t fixed the screen but completed the work other like always smh. This place is NOT worth it, not even as a last resort. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! Please listen to all these bad reviews because everything is true, I wish I would of listened.
I have lived here for 5 years. It didn't go well at first and I was the reason why. This is a 500+ unit complex. That is a lot of people. Sure there are other place as big but are more expensive. But dollar for dollar you won't beat this place. Pros: No crime Great neighbors Clean and well maintained grounds. Super friendly staff* In front of a bus stop 1 mile from everything you need. Well maintained gym, clubhouse and pool area. GREAT NEIGHBORS! Cons: It sometimes takes awhile for a maintenance request. Remember that * up there. this is why the only con is a con. This place was built in 1974, they have upgraded all of the units bit still things break and this a 500 unit place. If you want to live here at this rate, be patient once in a while. And here is the key to everything. When you interact with the staff, BE NICE! BE RESPECTFUL, BE COURTEOUS. This isn't hard but it was for me at first. They are dealing with 500 units and i have seen a few people treat the staff horribly. Would you want to help someone who yells at you? NO I promise you that the great maintenance staff is not sitting around. They work hard. Give them a break. I am being as honest as I can about this place. Roaches will show up if you are not clean, they have the bug person come every Friday. I have issues once in awhile when I SLACK OFF. I fully recommend Park at Lake Magdalene. Resident since 2015
Excellent place that has amenities for the family. Very accessible, clean and cozy place.
I lived here for 3 years. The first two years, every summer I was bit up by some type of insect every summer, my body was covered in some type of insect bite from head to toe. I notified the front desk and they were apathetic accused me of having bedbugs. They sent out a pest control person but could not find any signs of bed bugs. The 3rd year i finally stopped getting bit after i scoured my apartments every corner. There are 2 friendly staff people the rest are assholes, some of the maintenance guys are ok. Look out for Yvette the fat Mexican with glasses and attitude and Fae the brainless blonde. One time I remember I left my key at work and asked the staff if they could help me get it unlocked but the maintenance were assholes and said they could'nt. I had to travel all the way back to work across town to get back in to my own apartment. If you put in a work order thru Fae you have to wait months for them to get something fixed. You literally have to cuss someone out to get something fixed in that place!!! I just moved out and I guarantee the leak above my window has not been fixed. I remember once it took 5 days to get a toilet fixed! They also charged me for 3 days or basically my deposit after I turned in my key late. I wanted to try to write a good review but they basically stole my deposit and charged me for days I was not there. I guess if you can put up with the bs its a good place to live, location is good maintenance guys are ok. They over charge for a studio and the pipes in that place are constantly clogged up. I would try to find something cheaper you can do better!

I just moved out!!!! Thank you Jesus! This place was terrible! Maintenance takes forever with major issues such as water leak and garbage disposal malfunction! I had to wait 2 and a half weeks for someone to fix my leaking kitchen sink faucet! It was so bad, I couldn't cook and my apartment was starting to smell because of the leak. I had to use bowls to capture the leaking water! Also the shower faucet was leaking! Their plumping needs improvement!!!!!!The A/C was horrible, my room was always hot even after setting the monitor on 70! I'm so happy I'm gone, I was only there for 3 months. Please, please find another place!
I have lived in 3 different floorplans here, and I have yet to have any issues that were not resolved within reasonable time pending the level of emergency. There are new renovations that are breathtaking and offer quality for a great price. I am currently paying $773 for a one bedroom with a large white picked patio, water/sewer/trash/weekly pest control all while including the renovations. Very pleased!!!
I was initially attracted to this apartment complex because all of the first floor apartments had little fenced in yards. The price was fair, I found a two bedroom apartment with one bathroom for just under $900. I was not able to see the apartment before moving in because there was still a tenant living there, which ended up being a huge mistake. At move in, the apartment was filthy. In the kitchen, the cabinets were covered in grease stains on the exterior, and contained a mysterious white powder on the interior. The floors were covered in dirt and dust around the perimeter. The bathroom still had hair pieces from the previous tenant stuck to the walls and tub. The sliding glass door that opened into the little yard was broken. The glass was detached from the frame, so there was a good one and a half inch gap of exposure through which any insect could find its way through. When attempting to contact the front office via phone, the phone either rang non-stop with no answer, or it rang busy. I went to the office in person and expressed my complaints, and was told they would be addressed that day. Nobody showed up for two more days. I attempted to contact the property manager, who never responded. When I went to talk to her in person, she gave me thr run around, stating their were bigger problems she needed to adress elsewhere. I ended up spending three full days cleaning the entire apartment. Since that initial experience, more issues have arrised. We had no hot water for a good week last month. The cieling was leaking two weeks ago. Today the water stopped working all togther. Needless to say the management staff has not been helpful. No problems have been fully resolved. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. The hassle is not worth the yard, nor the price.
The apaetment it self is great and the community is even better. The neighbors are nice and generous and willing to help you if you have any questions. The community has lots of amenities both within the apartment complex and within the city. The neighborhood is surrounded by lots of activities within the city limits. Anything that you like to do for entertainment is no more than 30 minutes away. Grocery and shopping is right around the corner. Literally! I recommend these apartments to single people and small families.
I am a current resident for the past 8months. my AC has broken six times, my tub was clogged when I first moved in for a good three months until they actually did something about it. My neighbor had a roach fest and had to move out. I'm ready for my lease to end!!
Do not move here. They just paint over all the issues. The main issue is MOLD. They don't remove it when there is a leak in the ceiling. And the walls are covered in mold but they just paint over it. The AC unit in my apartment hasn't worked properly since I moved in and I've put in five requests to get it fixed. This place is a joke and the people that work here act like they're on vacation.
I love my apartment. It's quite and nice and big! The repair staff is very slow and only a few know what they are doing. I can get past that, because they are really nice! Anytime I have had an issue I can reach out to the manager and she usually is right on it! I live right on the lake and the view is so nice.
This is a great location for grocery shopping, dinner options and entertainment. The apartments are right off Fletcher Avenue so there is an automobile accident almost every day and you will be stuck either entering or exiting the complex. But wait! There's more! Please don't ever expect to walk into the leasing office and be helped in a timely fashion. I walked in one day to pick up a package and there were two leasing agents; one man and one woman. The man was helping prospective tenants and the woman was on the computer with no one in front of her. I was ignored completely for TEN minutes before the woman turned and looked at me and said, "I'm not working today." Are you kidding me?! The customer service was atrocious. But the clincher for me was when attempting to move out our new property management team tried to contact the office by fax, phone AND email. No one ever contacted our new management to confirm our rental history. This almost cost us from being offered the house that we love. Please think about the end of your stay at Park at Lake Magdalene and whether you want to deal with this. Good luck!
