Silver Lake sits around the namesake body of water at its center and provides an idyllic setting for residents of this sought-after Staten Island locale. The tree-lined streets of Silver Lake have charming single-family homes and mid-rise apartments. Residents love the area for its secluded feel, great schools, and of course, the park.
There aren’t many conveniences in Silver Lake’s boundaries, but just to the east you’ll find restaurants and convenience stores along Broad Street. Manhattan lies 22 miles northeast, accessible via the Staten Island Ferry or one of the major thoroughfares.

Property Ratings at Parkview House
We’ve been living here a few years now. We decided to leave after the apartment became home to roaches and mice. Oh and after the super stopped helping us fix what’s wrong with the apartment. Our bathrooms both had issues which we’re very crudely and haphazardly “fixed” and within days had returned to their original less then safe state. One shower wall was collapsing and allowing water into the walls and down into the apartment beneath us. Aka MOLD. And the super seemed nonchalant about helping us with such serious issues. Months later and still not fixed. Im capable of fixing these things myself but i alerted the super to show that we didn’t cause the damage and so there was record of things getting fixed, however inadequate it may have been done. One bathroom still doesn’t have a door. 3 windows locks have broken and yet to be fixed, causing them to slide open weekly. Not a terrible place but they need better and more cabale maintenance staff IMMEDIATELY.
This building is home to I would say at least 200 people , it has its Good Qualities and a fair share of Bad ones too. Its good if your looking to travel to the city for work purposes or school since it is near the ferry. This building even has its own private pool for residents. The worst part about the building though is the price for one, they raise it by 50$ each year. Another horrible thing about the building is the resident ( and im not talking about the humans). I've had Mice before and currently do have cockroaches coming in and out of my kitchen in the night. If you want low price for good quality this is not the place to come check out.
MY APARTMENT IS SPACIOUS, AIRY, BRIGHT, LARGE ROOMS, CROSS VENTILATION AND THE ROOMS ARE WELL LAID OUT. THE BUILDING IS WELL MAINTAINED WITH CLEAN LAUNDRY ROOM AND OUTDOOR POOL. THE LOBBY IS ATTRACTIVE AND WE HAVE A 24HR DOOR MAN. PARKING IS AVAILABE WITH OUTDOOR LOT AND INDOOR GARAGE. SUPERINTENDANT IS COURTEOUS AND CONSCIENTIOUS AND MAINTANCE CREW IS AS WELL. APARTMENTS GET PAINTED EVERY 3 YRS AND BULDING GROUNDS ARE PRETTY WITH FLOWERS AND GRASS THAT IS CARED FOR. DOORMEN ARE VERY NICE AND LOOK AFTER ANY PACKAGES THAT GET DELIVERED, THEY ARE PUT IN A LOCKED ROOM UNTIL TENENT CAN PICK THE UP. ALL THE DOORMEN ARE VERY HELPFUL WHEN HELP IS NEEDED, ESPECIALLY WITH THE OLDER PEOPLE.
Parkview Apartments is majestically situated atop Grymes Hill, one of the highest points on the north central coast of the United States, offering panaromic views of New York Harbour, the Verrazano Bridge and Lower Manhattan. Located directly across from Silver Lake Park, the building offers studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments with terraces overlooking the Park. The building is surrounded by several bus lines and is close to several schools namely P.S. 35, Notre Dame Elementary/High School, Wagner College, and the Staten Island Campus of St. John's University.
