The Harper

It’s obvious that whoever does maintenance and paint work is an amateur. Patchwork in the walls bleeds through, vents and plug covers painted over, dirty appliances when moved in. Parking lot floods, and maintenance requests take forever. RUB utility is a ripoff and a joke.

Do not move into the Harper apartments. My boyfriend and I have been residents for 7 months and we can tell you, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! These apartments are cheap and everything in them break very easy. It might look luxury but it’s just cheap “trendy”. Our AC has been out for 2 months and it is still isn’t fixed after 6 maintenance request, calls to the office and personal trips to the office to try and talk to someone. Every email I have ever sent to the office has also never been answered. Lastly, we had a hole leaking from our ceiling that was clearly coming from the roof, what did maintenance do? Patch the hole to our ceiling and not fix the leak so it just kept breaking through. I have also heard several residents complain about mold and I would believe it because the vents in our apartment are disgusting and look like they have mold! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!

Their communication is fairly poor. Acts as if there is no room for them to show compassion to individuals who endure hardships. Not a good place to move your family!!!!! Will add random charges to your rent and does not work with tenants in need of help! Acts as if they have no means to accommodate your family needs!

This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in! Maintenance entered my unit without notice for a minor repair and lost my pet. They refused to help me and have done nothing until being blasted on nextdoor. SO MANY MAINTENANCE ISSUES! The place is falling apart and they call it “luxury living”. What a joke.

The air does not work properly.. they must not have insulated it because towards the middle of the day my apartment reaches 73-74 degrees and I have it set on 68. My dog gets sick from the heat and I literally sweat just sitting on my couch. The floors are coming up and when I vacuum, the flooring will literally stick to my vacuum because they didn’t properly secure it to the concrete below. Everything was just painted over, the framing around the doors is horrible and is uneven. The doors aren’t even even on the hinges. Overall, I would not recommend. It has been a hot summer and it feels almost just as bad in the apartment as it does outside.

When we first moved here, a friend of mine told me that Brookside Properties (the company that owns The Harper) is known for putting "lipstick on a pig." That's exactly what this place is. When they "renovated" this place, they didn't actually fix anything. They just made it more aesthetically pleasing. This is a run-down property with management who couldn't care less about their residents. Plus, the rent amount changes every month and always somehow ends up being higher than what they initially told us it would be. I could write a whole essay, but I will leave it at this for now. The only good thing about this place is the location. Go somewhere else.

I just moved in last weekend but let me tell you.... the new management here is wonderful. Excellent communication and the maintenance men are incredible. They gutted & renovated the complex from top to bottom and although there are still a few flaws here and there, if you call in any issues they’ll take care of it. I don’t mean to be that pesky tenant that calls about every minor thing but I’ve come upon some issues since moving in and they hopped on it either the same or next day. Kudos to Sarahann, Michelle, Matt, Tony & Rob! Keep doing what you all are doing!

This property has changed on so many levels and I am so proud of the new management and owners for making such a difference. Thank you Sarahann for everything you do!

This is a great apartment complex, beautiful new updates. The neighbors are friendly and the management staff are wonderful!

Absolute disaster. If you choose to live here you better hope it doesn’t rain. My windows have been leaking since I’ve moved in and nothing has been done about it. They say they are working on it or they’ve fixed it but yet here i am with a living room floor covered in water and a couch that is destroyed with water damage. Unbelievable. I do not recommend. What a joke

I have been in Harper Apartments for 3 days now. I decided to down size and searched for about 1 month or so for the right apartment for my sons and I. I wanted something nice in a nice area of town. I came across Harper and did a virtual tour and was very impressed with the layout of the place. I thought, there's no way this will be in my price range and it was! Also it has a washer and dryer hook up which was a must with small kids. I did an online application and had many questions. A girl names Ketria got back to me very fast and really made the whole process very soothing. She was so well informed and patient with all the questions I asked. I singed the lease with a different girl named Kaylin and she was also so inviting that I knew I had picked the right place to call home. If you are looking for a great apartment you can be proud of I would recommend giving Haper a shot.

I've lived here since February and I really love how modern and beautiful the apartments are. I have a one bedroom, one bath and it's perfect. Any issues I've had the maintence team has been very quick to fix.

I’ve been here about 3 months now. I’m in a beautiful 3 bedroom. Newly remodeled large kitchen , 2 bath with w/d hookup. It’s everything I imagined. So comfortable and pretty quiet too. And the price was a steal compared to the other apartments in the area with not nearly as much space. We LOve it! (can’t wait for the pool and gym to open. And dog& cat friendly.

I have lived at The Harper for a little over a month now and I am in love with this place! The upgrades to the apartment are beautiful and even though there are some dents on the baseboards or dings in the door I am very pleased with everything! I knew I wasn't getting a brand new apartment but it truly feels like one. They are working on a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool and it seems like they are close to being finished with those things! Don't listen to those who are complaining, these apartments are definitely worth checking out!

I moved here about a month ago and like some of the other reviews mention, the upgrades are nice, however it really appears as though they’re just putting lipstick on a pig. They are simply painting over/ dressing up previous issues as opposed to gutting and actually renovating apartments. The room with my water heater has a strange smell and part of the wall is unpainted. Ventilation is also not so great as my bathroom smells like smoke from one of my neighbors smoking in their apartment I assume. Construction on buildings is sporadic as opposed to finishing one building and moving to the next, so there’s a lot going on and it can be noisy. Trying to be patient until construction is done but I doubt I’ll stay another year.

They made the apartments look great but upon checking out the crews' work to see what they did and didn't do I saw they just put nice things in and left the walls, electrical, and drainage the same old stuff. they haven't fixed the flooding problem on the bottom floors so if you get one of them you might invest in stuff to keep your valuable furniture and floor items high and dry. if they tore out the walls, replaced the molded wood and flood-proofed the first floor they would be worth the crazy amount they want but they are just covering up the problems and hoping everything will be all right.

I live here they don't fix anything they won't do anything about the infestation of bugs or the tenants selling drugs.

The new apartments are almost ready and I can't wait to move in! The tile in the shower is so pretty and I love the new white cabinets! I've never been this excited to move before!

I have lived here for 12 years and I wasn't happy about the new owners but now I am. They have done more than the old owner did the whole time I've been here. The sidewalks are being redone, the parking lot is being paved and parking spots actually painted on it! The buildings are getting new windows and siding. They mow the grass every week. So much change happening but it already looks a lot better. I can't wait to see the new pool!

I drove through these apartments yesterday. My aunt used to live here so I know all about how management was before and how bad conditions were. Driving through I can see that the new management have already done a lot. Landscaping has been well kept, no trash lying around and it looks like they will be working on the pot holes too. Very excited to see the new renovated apartments and the outcome of this property. It's a great location!
