Property Ratings at Pinewood Village Apartments
I have lived in Pinewood Village for two years. I moved from a house with several acres of land, so I was not thrilled to be moving into an apartment. But I cannot speak highly enough about the manager, Elsa, and the maintenance man, Gonzalo. When I was looking for an apartment, there were some I liked just as much, but decided on this one because of how nice Elsa was. And I am glad that I made that decision. Elsa and Gonzalo consistently go out of their way to accommodate (far beyond anything I would expect), and they are professional and polite. Repairs are made very quickly. The owners changed last year, but I was very glad that the manager did not. Of note, there was different management when the negative reviews were posted a few years ago. The apartments are on several acres of property, with a creek and small pond. It is gorgeous. I sit on my patio and listen to the birds, and watch the ducks and rabbits. There are several dog waste stations, so the grounds stay clean. It is a pet friendly place. There is also a playground for children, a pool, and a tennis court. It is a smoke free complex. Pinewood is in a great location. We are within walking distance of a grocery store, gym, restaurants, bus stop, U-Haul, and more. The miles of trails nearby are amazing. There is a blueberry farm and another pond down the street. It is easy to forget that we are in a city. I highly recommend Pinewood Village Apartments. The only thing I would change is that I wish they offered short-term leases (only offer 12 months now). Also, if you do not like the summer heat, I recommend living on the first floor. Although there is no air conditioning, my apartment (partially underground on a slope) never got above 82 degrees when it was 104 outside.
We were one of the residents of this great community for about five years and overall had a good time. The current staff and management is going extra step to make residents stay safe and satisfactory. The maintenance order are address promptly. Like to called out Gonzalo for his great service every time he comes to address a work order. Thank you,
I'm a single woman in her 50s so safety is a concern for me. I read a review indicating this is an unsafe neighborhood and I couldn't disagree more. I am NOT an employee, by the way. My unit is near the leasing office, so I have ample opportunities to see the office staff and maintenance staff. Everyone seems friendly and kind. I've not had any noise issues, and I see the maintenance staff checking cars to ensure they belong to residents. All this makes me feel very safe. I love seeing the children swim in the summer, and I've enjoyed berry picking around the grounds. The pond is so peaceful, I truly feel like I'm living in the woods.

Thank you for your feedback! We are so happy to hear that you are enjoying all of the features that Pinewood Village has to offer. We hope you stay with us for many years to come!
I just recently moved in to Pinewood Village and so far, I love this place! I work late in the evening, and when I get home it it usually dark. The property is well lit, and is always very quiet. The management is super friendly, and the apartments are nicely renovated. I LOVE the pool and the sauna, and the forest-like landscaping is so peaceful. I had the choice between this community and another nearby similarly priced. I chose Pinewood because of the office and maintenance staff. They are very accommodating, and always have a smile on their faces!

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your kind words and hope you continue to stay with us for many more years!
This is absolutely the worst apartment in my 10 year experience of renting. ALL of the 5 star reviews were written by their employees to cover up their rip off reviews and their greed. I decided to choose this place because of the convenient location - opposite Walmart, LA fitness and lots of grocery stores and restaurants, but that's it. And it's not even a good thing to make up for this hidious place because you will be visited often by the homeless people wandering off from Walmart and once in a while just randomly sit by your door step. The management is rude and incompetent that they will not solve anything. They simply tell me to call the police in response to all of my security concern. They put 10 notices on everyone's door when there is a noise complaint, even when you tell them exactly which apartment is causing the disturbance. Therefore, if you're unlucky to be near a noisy neighbor, your complaint will go nowhere. Their mantenance is ok but if you ask them to fix 3 things, they will forget 2 and will not reschedule to finish the rest unless you remind them to. The unit is extremely overpriced for being so old and falling apart, the kitchen is annoyingly small that it's struggling to cook for two and cabinets barely fit any dishwares. The toilet is shallow and will spray up everywhere when you flush. The water power of the shower is extremely poor. The washer is excaptionally loud that at least 3 of my guests coming over while it's running asked me if there is a plan taking off. The chandelier in the dinning room is super low and ridiculously placed that if you're taller than 5'5 you will bump your head to it everytime you stand up from your dinning table. There are also a bunch of drunk people doing drugs outside of their homes at 3AM everyday, yelling and setting random things on fire and the management people have not done a thing. Overall, an unsafe and hostile environment that is not worth visiting, let alone living for more than a week. I regret my decision after 3 months living here and I can guarantee you that only the 1 star reviews truely reflect what this place really is. Don't buy in their 5 star reviews written by their employees. This place is a scam and will rip you off to your last penny.

Hello, we have reviewed our records and do not find a work order for any of the items you listed. We are surprised to hear about your complaint on the washer and dryer, since it is a Bosch and they have some of the quietest in the industry. We have not received any complaints from other residents having issues in their apartment like the ones you described. We do not have any people hanging out in front of any doors and have a courtesy patrol go through the property several times each night. We have checked with the courtesy patrol who goes to the property three to four times a night, as well as our records and do not find the incidents you describe. We continually strive to upgrade the apartment homes; we take our resident’s comfort seriously and work very hard to maintain a quiet, clean and beautiful community for our residents to live. Pinewood Village Management Team
This place has been a nightmare to us for their hostile attitude, discrimination and retaliation. I and my husband live in the middle floor unit, and for 2 straight months, they let our neighbor upstairs yelling, screaming, fighting, harassing us nonstop and turned a complete blind eye to it despite a mountain of complaints we filed. Because of the constant sex yelling at night, I suffered from lack of sleep and depression that later caused my first miscarriage!!!! Nothing would have been solved had we not called the police to fight with their irresponsible handling. But then somebody complained about our dogs, they gave us an eviction offer right away!! I was even assaulted by the manager Micheline when I came in the office to drop off the rent, she cornered me with a hostile attitude and distorted me about the recording videos that my lawyer wouldn't like what was in our home in the videos!! Months later the upstairs neighbor moved out and the maintenance guy somehow moved in for a short term, turning his radio really loud so we complained again. So instead of asking him to be quiet, they sent him TO OUR DOOR, pounding on our door and yelling at us through the door that there was nobody upstairs. We had to warn him that we would call the police to make him leave!! Then he twisted the story and told the manager that we harassed him!!! The whole thing was just unbelievable!!! Now they have changed the manager but they're suddenly coming after us for a maintaining charge for the door that was broken by the police by accident, NOT BY US. And despite the fact that the police offered to take responsibility for the charges, they came back 7 MONTHS later to tell us to pay the money that has never been mentioned to us before!! Bottom line is, I just can't wait to get out of this place, we have felt like prisoners living in our own home that we have to record and take photos constantly for evidence, including when we drop off the rent because we really don't know what these people can do to us. We are getting a lawyer to sue them for the entire amount of rent we have paid here for their retaliation and hostile environment that has affected our physical and mental health tremendously. Please do yourself a favor and warn everyone you know about this place, please don't be their next victim.
I enjoyed my One Bedroom on the 3rd floor here. Great view of the pond down below. Really liked this place because of all the trees. Very beautiful summer and winter there. I will miss the having a grocery store, gym, and most of all the Starbucks. I highly recommend this place!
