Retreat at McAlpine Creek

Upon moving into the complex my apartment was disgusting. Cat poop and cat food left in the garbage pale, bird poop out on the patio, the carpet was the opposite of clean, and the kitchen was not even wiped down. Fridge was sticky and the cabinets were filthy. 2 days after we moved in they tried to come in and paint my walls because they never got to it before our move in date. They never sealed the rear and front door correctly along with parts of the ceiling and walls which lead to bugs getting into my apartment. There were roaches in the apartment from the previous renter. We left numerous maintenance requests for the problem(BEFORE AND AFTER WEIDNER TOOK OVER) and it was never handled. A piece of my washer machine broke and I had to order the piece my self because maintenance didn’t answer. Given the filth I walked into when I moved into this place and the lack of communication along with how poorly the apartment was left when I moved in, I thought that maybe they could terminate my lease a month early since I found a new place closer to work and school. I have been ignored over and over again by the supervisor of this complex for months after speaking to her in person when she literally said “I will be in touch with you” and “we will definitely speak soon” and the agents working there completely kept me away from speaking to her when I called. They would answer once a week if that and when I came in they never even made an effort to let me speak to her. I have probably had over 100 calls just go completely unanswered from this complex. The amount of emails I’ve sent through the portal that were never answered is just sad. Absolutely unprofessional. So to end the journey with this complex I pay rent for the month of July that I won’t even be there, and I doubt they’ll even reach out about a security deposit. Thanks a lot guys. Terrible.

This has been a great experience. Management is friendly and nice. Communication is very important annd helpfully. The setup of the floorplans are comfortable and spacious. The community is chill, relaxed for the most part and easy going. Our family thank you all for this wonderful start and great opportunity for a New beginning of happiness!

The Retreat at McAlpine Creek has been very helpful in my situation when I first moved here so I am truly grateful to have this apartment. The community is so beautiful and peaceful.

I was looking for place to move, where is was a quite community online. And I end up seeing this complex online and seen the steps on getting into the community and also, I saw the floor plan on the two bedrooms apartments. I see they had loft on some of the apartments and also that they had different view for apartments you can chose from as well. For the amenities that is install within the apartments it is worth the price they offer. I would really recommend this property to anyone who looking to moving and want to have a peaceful and relax stable place to call home.

It used to be better, nowadays there is a great disregard for the residents.

it is a very nice condominium I fell in love with its green areas from the moment I met it, the services such as swimming pool and gym are very nice, the garbage is picked up on time, however there are issues such as exterior cleaning that I do not see, so They gave me an apartment that has a very nice distribution, it is very nice, but the washing machine does not work optimally, the door of the dryer is broken, the mesh door of the partition does not close, the light of a bathroom does not work, a strong smell of cigarettes, etc. They charged as if they had given me an apartment in optimal conditions and I have been in this apartment for a month and they have not solved any of my maintenance problems. I understand there is a lack of maintenance staff but it's been a month here and I want my apartment in good condition.

Great location, friendly people and a great price.

Trash littered everywhere routinely. Loud parties. Constant smell of smoke / drugs. Constant water issues. Bugs..Bugs...Bugs...

DO NOT RENT from them. The building is old, but all the covers ups to make it look nice. Roaches and bugs issues. Unprofessional staff.

Moved in a year ago. The management company sold it to Waterton in December. They began an "improvement" project that has left trash and litter everywhere in its wake and piles sawdust where beautiful trees and bushes used to be. Arrived home today to see a dirty diaper and pile of chicken bones at the entrance to the building. Tried to file a maintenance rrquest but the system was down. Management started off polite, but as the problems keep compounding have become increasingly unresponsive and seem to shrug off the unsanitary conditions.

This apartment complex is the worst please think twice before renting here. Since I have moved in there has been issues I pay over $1000 a month to stay in apartment where the ceiling leaks over my bed, hot water goes in and out, dishwasher is broken, old appliances and very snappy staff. I hate this apartment complex can not wait until I leave. Disgusting and a waste of your hard earned money:

This place has gotten so BAD since we moved in!!! In the last three to four months, the water is shut off several times a week, and off all day most of the time! One time there was no water for OVER 24 hours, so no showering, or washing dishes or laundry! That is disgusting and unlivable!!! Multiple, MULTIPLE issues that need to be fixed, heating wise, hot water heater, and ELECTRICAL!!! By the way, they don't care at the office, when you call to have maintenance fix the problem, be prepared to wait at least two days to have the problem fixed! Not kidding, we have had probably twenty issues in a year, not even being picky, just issues that need to be repaired and the office forgets to tell maintenance! You call the next morning because they didn't show up, and there is no communication between the office and maintenance. I called early Friday morning, nobody showed up! It is now Monday at 6pm and again nobody showed up to fix this electrical problem, even though we called this morning, and this afternoon! Very frustrating! Also, there have been no less than THREE different staff changes in the office in a year, including the managers! If that doesn't tell you there is a problem, then I don't know what will! This place is beyond help, and we CAN NOT WAIT to leave here once the lease is up! I do NOT recommend this place, not to anyone!

Buildings are in disrepair all around. Uninhabitable right now. No running water for days at a time ( we made the news for that). They expect us to get our water from the back of a truck parked at the office. Aside from these issues management is generally dishonest and rude. I could go on and on but don't have the time to list all of the problems of which there are many.

This community has had issue after issue since we moved in."The City of Charlotte will be shutting the water off from 10 am thru 5 pm to work on this major project EVERY weekday Monday- Friday for the next 3 week consecutive weeks."

Since moving here in early 2016, i have grown custom to this neighborhood. It is so peaceful, relaxing and safe. The staff at the front office is on it, with their neighborhood event gathering at the pool and gotten to known more people in my community. I have to give a big kudos to Mrs. Bates. She such a warm sweet people that care and strive for her community.

Management is clearly committing scam against potential customers! Today, I got a quote for an apartment I am interested in online (a current and live system), and immediately I called the office to process my lease application. The staff told me that the apartment I am looking at is unavailable, and continues to tell me I am actually applying for an apartment that is hundreds of dollars more expensive, underneath a fake price tag. I would not have known that the price tag was fake unless I had called them. Using an online service to book, I would believe that the listings and the quotes are current. This happened on two occasions in the same week. I would call about an apartment with a price that I am interested in, and in the middle of processing the application, the staff tells me that the price I am looking at is actually not the price I would be getting, and the real price of the apartment I wanted to book is hundreds of dollars beyond what I had already selected and the real price would only show when I completed my application. If I did not call while I was processing my application, I would not have known that I was applying for an apartment that is way beyond my price range. Tricking the customers and luring them in with the promise of a certain price, but the real price tag is revealed after you apply and submit non-refundable $300 for administrative and application fees. If that is not a scam, I don't know what is. When I asked about this to the administrative staff, all she would say is that it's not the apartment's fault. Well who's fault is it if it's not theirs? This administrative staff and the management company should be ashamed of this dirty marketing plan and less than professional problem solving skills and attitudes. If you want to live somewhere with incompetent and ineffectual management and administrative staff who denies responsibility and fault, this is the place to be!

The Retreat at McAlpine Creek is centrally located in Pineville, NC with easy access to Charlotte, Matthews and Fort Mill, SC. You are within a 20 minute drive of the Panthers Stadium, The Knights Baseball Field, Carowinds, the theaters in uptown Charlotte and the Whitewater Center. The staff is friendly and the amenities are nice and well maintained.

The Retreat is a nice place to live, it provides u all the necessary comforts of a home, neighborhood and maintenance staff is very helpful. You can enjoy the pools, BBQ grills, tennis courts, dog park and small playground for the younger ones. The rooms are spacious, new upgraded kitchens offer a higher quality feel and I suggest look for ones with microwaves built in. The grounds are well maintained, love the flower beds and many good areas for Dog walks; excellent pet policy. This is a great place to live if you just moved to the Charlotte area, as this will put you smack in the middle of everything. You have Pineville to the left, Ballanytne to right and not far from Carrowinds, South Carolina, or UPTOWN. If this doesn't convince you, do some pricing of other locations in same area; well worth you money at the Retreat. I do suggest you ask about the building, neighbors and don't be afraid to tell the office girls exactly what you're looking for, they will make it right!!!! Do yourself a favor and stop in today, as apartments go quickly around here.
