Property Ratings at Ridgecrest At Hulen Bend
I consider myself to be a good tenant. I pay rent, maintain cleanliness and especially pick up after my animal. Ridgecrest often change their policy to ensure several fines to be paid by tenants. They tow vehicles of paying tenants. Charge their tenants over technicalities that are initially their fault. Took them 90 days to fix my garbage disposal and even longer to fix my closet light fixture. They are rude and unreasonable. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
ROACHES, even though we clean multiple times a day. Can hear things living in the walls. Neighbors are trash. Garbage is everywhere. A dumpster is in the middle of the street. Everyone speeds through the parking lot, either in the center, or the wrong lane. Children run around unattended, right into the parking lot, without looking. Stray animals everywhere. Constantly hear people screaming at each other. The courtesy officer plays favorites, and is extremely rude. Only Internet available is DirectTV, at horrible speeds, that can't handle streaming, and the Satellite dishes are an eyesore. They didn't warn us that DirectTV were the only ones allowed until AFTER the non-refundable deposit was paid. Would have been a deal breaker. New management is okay. At least work orders get fixed now. Their higher ups shackle them from improving the community. Only good thing about this place is that I learned to NEVER get an apartment again.
For what you are getting you can't beat the price for these apartments. They are very affordable and they pay for water! They recently updated the property which has drastically improved the overall appearance. The interior of the apartments are nice and simple (but in a good way). They have put in new carpets and the walls are a nice, neutral, and tasteful tan. There are a couple reasons why I didn't rate them higher. One reason being parking. I can't sugar coat it, parking is horrible. Unfortunately the owners aren't being very proactive in trying to find a solution. If you leave and come back at anytime past 7:30 p.m. good luck trying to find a spot near your apartment. My second minor frustration is that you can't pay your rent online. It's more of an inconvenience than anything else. Thirdly, they have gates to make it a gated community, which would be nice, but they don't use them. Personally I would feel better for the apartment complex as a whole if they would implement using the gates. My final reason for not rating them higher is that it their response time for maintenance request is not timely at all. It took them 3 months just to fix things that were wrong from when I moved in. Overall the staff is generally extremely personable and willing to help. They try really hard to accommodate and make your stay at their apartments as enjoyable as possible.
To be brutally honest the main reason why I choose this apartment was because of the price. It was by far the best deal of all the apartments that I had looked at (and I looked at a number of apartments). That being said, I knew it wasn't going to be the Hilton. The apartments are pretty decent. They have had new carpet installed. The paint is a nice neutral tan with white trim. One perk is they pay for water, sewer, and trash. The only complaints that I would have is the fact they don't get maintenance requests done in a timely manner. I've lived here over a month and I'm still waiting for them to fix things that I had listed on my move in agreement. Things like when you change the locks, you didn't change the lock on the storage door and now I can't get in. Or hey when I moved in you said you would set up my security alarm and you still haven't. My only other frustration is parking. If you get here past 7:30 p.m., good luck trying to get a decent parking space. The location of the apartments is really ideal, you are not far from pretty much anything you need. You are right next to the Chisholm Trail Parkway which means you can be downtown in about 15 minutes or less. You are also right next to Hulen street so there is a mall 5 min away. So this is a really great place to be. The apartment management team is a really nice group of people who are willing to help out wherever they can. They recently did a number of updates to the apartments, things like painting the exterior and painting the pool deck. Which really help with the overall appearance of the apartments.
