Property Ratings at Rock Creek Commons
My partner and I have a HUGE laundry listen of things wrong with this place for the year we lived here: * your circuit breaker will randomly trip and they won’t do anything about it. the outlets can’t handle a basic desktop computer or even a coffee maker. you won’t have consistent electricity and they won’t do anything about it. * if you live on the third floor, there are birds nesting in the roofline. bird poop EVERYWHERE, sometimes even a dead bird or two. * a car caught on FIRE in the parking lot and it ruined the pavement and burnt the side of a building, but they didn’t do anything about it for 6+ months * if you work nights, be prepared to be randomly woken up during the day. they’ll do work on the roof without letting you know in advance. not even an email. * you only get one parking spot and there is rarely any other parking available. * there is constantly trash on the grounds and they don’t clean it up. * they won’t redirect mail so enjoy constantly getting some random persons mail. * overpriced. * paper thin walls. * lousy management.
Property Manager at Rock Creek Commons, Responded To This Review
We regret that you weren't satisfied with your experience. We work with all our resident's schedules when making repairs in the apartments, however, third-party vendors such as electricians have a strict schedule, and may not be as flexible. Thank you for your feedback. If you would like to discuss this further, please reach out to our manager directly at mgullino@missionrockres.com so we can work toward a resolution! Best Regards, Rock Creek Commons
The managers don’t reply to residents messages for 4 days. My parents still live without dishwasher and they don’t provide any solution. be aware
The managment is very slow, sometimes rude. We live there for 2 month and still don't have a dishwasher in our apartment. They keep saying us "WAIT" That's my first review. Much more are coming. 1/10
Rent increase of $450!! this is ridiculous THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS they will not work with you at all what so ever! this is more then 1/3 of my current rent!
My experience with this property has been overwhelmingly negative and I do not recommend anyone moves here. The property is nice but it is definitely too expensive for what it is. Make sure you communicate in writing to the property management team, as they are terrible at keeping records of anything. You won’t get your security deposit back regardless of how clean you leave the unit. Just shady.
I've read several reviews and understand the frustrations, we lived at RCC from 2014 to 2021. There have been a few changes in management and I can only comment out our experience. We have no complaints about the way the apartments were built, everything seems reasonably solid for us. Maintenance and management seemed very responsive to our needs. There were some quirks about keeping items on the lanai or balcony but, it is what it is. The location is great for families. Winco, Shell Gas station, Arco, Subway and more is literally a block away and within a resonable walking distance. Prairie High School is within walking distance for high school students and the elementary schools are a short drive away as well. Work in Portland, i205 and i5 are not that far away, although there are an annoying amount of lights on the way to the freeway but it is what it is. Need to go to Salmon Creek? Just shoot down 119th, there have been significant road improvements that make that route even faster. So in my humble opinion there is a lot of good reasons to live at RCC that outweigh the potential negative that probably exists no matter where you move 2020 was lame, be kind to people, times were and still are rough for many others. When we moved out we were very communicative with management and they were very clear within the letter/reminder to renew the lease. They provide the dates they needed the info by in order for us renew or advise them of our intention to vacate. We of course did hire someone to come in and clean because we did live there since 2014 and were the 1st people to live in that apartment. So we wanted to leave the apartment in the best condition we could and I think it was just being respectful to management and I realize they would have their own cleaners come in anyway. All in all RCC was a great place to live for us. Thank you to Amanda, Natalia, Patty, Doug and the others whose names I have forgot. Keep up the good work.
I've been here for a few months and I love it. The management staff is great, there's some great amenities, and the location is perfect for me. I'm reading some of the reviews and I'm wondering how many of you people have ever lived in an apartment? It's apartment living. The management staff do their jobs and they are very helpful. I've never had any issues because I understand apartment living. You get your own private parking spot, you get reserved off street parking, and the management staff are always friendly and outgoing. I don't think some people understand apartment living and they have expectations that are ridiculous and they think they can do whatever they want which isn't how life works and they end up being angry at the management staff for things that aren't their fault. Overall, great place!
No parking! Tickets for your friends, family, even you for parking in your own space! Inspections every 3 months. They require access to your place for 12 hours a day for up to a week at a time...Don't do it to yourself
My husband and I had a 7 month lease at Rock Creek Commons. We didn't have any issues throughout that time until the end. Even though we were on the middle floor, we didn't think it was too loud. We heard cats running at times, but a fan at night drowned out any noise. The appliances worked as they should. The only annoying this was no having drawers. You make due with what you have, but something to consider. Unfortunately, we left the place with very negative feelings. We were given a Lease Renewal offer a month before our least was up on April 30th. On the sheet, the management highlighted the costs of our different options along with the date that we had to let them know our decision by. (April 15th) What they chose not to highlight in the fine print was that if we were going to end our lease, we had to give them a 20 day notice. Which would be April 10th for us, not the 15th. We were in the process of purchasing a home, but we wanted to make sure that nothing came up with that before we said we weren't going to renew the lease for one more month if necessary. So on April 14th, we notified them that we were not going to continue our lease. They then informed us that we were supposed to let them know on the 10th. I'm sure you can understand that we were super frustrated with how misleading they were. To make it worse, they said that this had happened numerous times in the past, but because we were the third tenant that DAY that had done the exact same thing, they were doing us a "courtesy" by only charging us a pro-rated rent for 5 extra days. Which ended up being $168 and we still had to be out on April 30th. So, obviously, that left us with a bad taste and THEN we got our bill from them. Apparently in 7 months of living there, we put enough damage on their walls that they needed to touch up $70 worth of paint even though we had marked that the walls needed touching up before we moved in. Then they told us that because it was dirty BEHIND the fridge, that was another $70. It was like because we had left the place too clean, they were searching high and low for things to charge us for. In the end, we ended up owing them $30 and got nothing of our $400 deposit back. If you're looking for a nice place with a good location, this is a good option. But don't expect to walk away with any good feelings about the place after dealing with the management.
I have lived there for 2 years, management is horrible, there is never any parking. You can hear neighbors everywhere on your sides and upstairs. No lights in the bed rooms no drawers in the kitchen or bathroom, appliances are the worst. Half the outlets are connected to the light switch which is beyond annoying and completely not useful or handy. They have towed my car twice when I have had my parking sticker an parked in MY OWN parking spot because "they didn't see my sticker" when it's in the correct spot. Over all a horrible place to live I wouldn't recommend rock creek commons to any one! If I could give them zero stars I would! I am so glad to not be living there any more!
Appliances are good, countertops are nice, bathroom is acceptable. That's where they get the first two stars. Laminate floors coming up in the corners. Arc fault in my circuit breaker so half of my kitchen outlets don't work until they send an electrician out. You can hear everything your neighbors say above below and to the left and right. You can't even call a courtesy officer or management to address an obnoxious neighbor that blasts their subwoofers at all hours of the day and night. Their motto should be , "You can find better, but you'll never pay more". And parking is a joke, one spot guaranteed per unit even if you have a two bedroom. The "reserved" spots for residents are almost impossible to find if you come home after working a normal workday. Oh and even if someone does park in your spot, they don't have anyone enforcing the parking like they will tell you they do. The best thing about this place is I am not committed to a full year lease.
Finally a great place I can call home. To keep it short and simple I have never felt so comfortable living somewhere where my family and I not only feel safe but also welcomed. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm cozy place to call home.
