Situated about 30 miles north of Manhattan, Tarrytown is a picturesque village nestled alongside the eastern banks of the Hudson River. Tarrytown is regarded for its historic character, along with its distinctive small-town allure. Legendary historic structures are among Tarrytown’s main attractions, including mansions like Lyndhurst and Sunnyside, in addition to the longstanding Tarrytown Music Hall.
The commercial heart of the village is strewn along Main Street, where independent shops, coffeehouses, and eateries are housed in rows of colorful, old-fashioned buildings. The many local businesses on Main Street serve as gathering places for Tarrytown’s close-knit community, as well as the numerous year-round events hosted in town. Residents can also come together to enjoy the outdoors at Tarrytown’s many scenic parks, such as Pierson Park, Patriots Park, and Tarrytown Lakes Park.

Property Ratings at Sleepy Hollow Gardens
This place showed zero care, took my money and Samson management never took my issues seriously and said they were fine with me living with roaches. This is place has all kinds of roaches.
Don’t even want to give it one star. From the day I moved in it was infested with cockroaches!!! Took about 20 phone calls before landlord responded and almost a year later I’m still seeing cockroaches in the apartment. Walls are paper thin-you can hear everything. They used the cheapest white paint to paint the walls, window frame and doors to cover up marks from last people. THERE IS NO PARKING every single day by the time you get home from work. This place is way overpriced and everything is of poor quality. DO NOT move here it’s terrible I can not wait to get out.
Pros - Spacious apartment - quiet and safe community - pets allowed Cons - maintenance system is inefficient and unreliable - there is no parking after 8PM unless you have a paid spot which is over $100 - peeling paint - cheap appliances - bathrooms need renovation - rent goes up too much every month
I wish I had known better when I moved in here. The walls are paper thin and you can literally hear every conversation your neighbors have. God forbid if you live on the bottom floor....floors creaking, shaking as your neighbors walk up the stairs. Paint peeling. The bathtub is so small, impossible to fit in there without touching either the windowsill or shower curtain. Constant problems with the toilet...clogs frequently. Don't even get me started with the parking situation!!!! Not enough parking spots for all that live there. If you get there after 7pm? GOOD LUCK!!! They have reserved spots but there is a long waiting list for those. Used to be $75 a month but raising it to $100 with the new lease. Whatever you do DONT MOVE HERE!!!
It is a nice, family-environment but maintenance needs improvement
I do like this apartment because they have have great views through all windows and it has a little porch. Also it is a short walk to the town, however this apartment is not well maintained. The maintenance people use cheap paint to cover marks on the wall that previous owners have made. Also, in order to get things fixed you have to call the maintenance crew numerous times. The bathroom has a very severe mold problem. The paint chips off frequently and we have been unable to take baths for the amount of years we have been here. We have only been able to take showers. What hurts me the most is that my daughter hasn`t been able to take bubble baths which i know she loves. The laundry facility is absolutely disgusting. We have to go to a regular laundry facility in the town because the one here in the complex gets backed up with sewage sometimes. In the winters there isn`t enough heat. My family and I have to layer ourselves in clothing in order to stay warm. Lastly, there is an insect problem. The building is rarely exterminated so bugs such as roaches and rolly pollies are often seen in the apartment. I DO LOVE THE COMMUNITY BECAUSE IT IS VERY SAFE AND THE COMMUNITY IS VERY CLEAN AND WELL KEPT.
Just moved here two months ago from Brooklyn, NY. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful this community is. I have never felt safer or more at home. Since its Summer, its like an old time movie, kids playing in the front yards or on the play grounds. Neighbors sitting outside and barbecuing. The maintenance is always available for whatever is needed. The only downfall is the parking, after 6pm if your not home the spot fill up fast, their are spots available to rent, we are on the list. We have a large dog and all the dogs we have met are very friendly!
