Seymour/Naugatuck/Ansonia is a large area encompassing a collection of neighborhoods east of the Naugatuck River. The northern section of the area is comprised mostly of forests hiding a few residential areas, but the eastern and southern portions of the community are less secluded. Highway 8 runs through the eastern section of town connecting residents to other parts of New England including New Haven, located 10 miles southeast. The highway also features commercial developments as several shopping centers are located along or just off the road. Renters will find that rental options are centered along this road as well. Apartments in a range of styles and prices are situated in proximity to the main thoroughfare.

Property Ratings at Sterling Towers Apartments
Rude neighbors, thin walls, nothing works properly, everyone is so nosey and in your business, the laundry mat is awful and most machines never work. Never feel comfortable or at ease here. People are miserable here.
I have read previous reviews and must admit was a bit nervous about moving into this building. But I'm so glad I did. I loved my 1 bedroom apartment. I lived on the 4th floor that was super quiet and I never had an issue. Never noisy. Great neighbors. Never had an issue with parking. Loved my view and it was comfortable. Never really needed to call maintenance except for exchanging my air conditioner. Never had a problem. I definitely recommend as a first time apartment. If I wasn't relocating to a different state, I would have definitely stayed. Sorry to hear about other people's bad experience. I definitely did not have one.

Thank you very much for your tenancy at Sterling Towers. We strive to have our residents have the experience you did, and it is gratifying to hear that our efforts made your residency a happy one! Best of luck in your relocation!
Everything about this place is awful. Management is terrible. Constantly making noise throughout all hours of the day doing projects they start but clearly don’t finish. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. Terrible/smelly neighbors. Low life losers who don’t work live there & are constantly outside smoking & making noise in the back. The ground floor reeks of weed. Elevator didn’t work for months! There are handicapped people living in the building & their only response was “sorry for the inconvenience”. Everything about living here was awful. I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy. So glad I moved to another complex as soon as my lease was up that values & cares for their tenants.
Terrible management! I don't recommend renting from Garden Homes management. First, prior to moving in the management company advertised "half off the first months rent". This amount was later billed to us by mistake. Second they kept 78% of our deposit for "fowl odor under the carpet once they ripped the carpet out". So the carpet did not smell but the floor under the preinstalled carpet did which means the floor was dirty before we moved in. Slum lords. Third, any package that had arrived at the unit was stolen. The elevator was broken for months. This place sucks!

I'm very sorry to hear that you are unhappy about your experience living at Sterling Towers. Garden Homes takes great pride in having many long term, happy residents not only at Sterling Towers but at all of our properties. Unfortunately, the elevator did need an upgrade this year to keep it operating properly. Custom parts needs to be made for it so the upgrade took longer than expected. We understand that was a very big inconvenience to our tenants; however, safety is a priority. It's unfortunate that your cat damaged the carpet that was nearly brand new when you move-in by spraying and/or urinating on it. You did sign an Addendum to Lease for pet owners indicating you "agree not to permit the pet to damage the apartment, including...urinating on the carpeting and flooring" and that any damage would be "at Tenant(s) expense." In fairness, we did pro-rate the replacement cost, which is more than reasonable under the circumstances.
