Claiming the title of America’s oldest permanent settlement, Saint Augustine is a city with over 400 years of history on display everywhere you look. As a popular destination for visitors from around the world, there is no shortage of options for dining, shopping, nightlife, and entertainment in Saint Augustine (and yes, there’s a lot more than just tourist attractions).
The beach is equally popular among locals and tourists alike, with Anastasia Island and Vilano Beach conveniently accessible from anywhere in the city. The Florida National Guard has its headquarters here, so there is a strong military presence as well.

Property Ratings at Summer Breeze A 55+ Community
UPDATE/EDIT July 2024: My ac broke a while ago, it took them 5 months to fix it. I have a paper trail of emails to prove it. One kind lady actually printed out proof of the request for me. Recently it has broke again, I have been trying to get them to fix it for three months now this time. I asked one of the staff members why it was taking so long and she told me a completely different story from a maintenance man who works here. They'll tell you any excuse to get you away. Sometimes getting defensive and passive aggressive. There are a few nicer staff members who seem to care but no matter how nice they are my apartment still isn't getting fixed. Im sure the staff members are working with a limited budget but if they want people to stay and pay, they gotta invest in the well-being of people here. Every night I sleep in 80-82 degrees. I wake up in a pool of sweat. I cannot stress this enough. It is affordable but it is not worth it. Original review November 2023: It is hard to get the staff here to do anything. I've had a leak for many months with emails dating back to when it started and dated pictures/videos documenting the leak. I went in to put a request in (I've lost count of how many I've put it in.) The next day I went to check on the request and apparently it wasn't in their system at all. The woman who put it in said she "forgot" I've also had this happen multiple times as I'll put a request in one day, check on it the next and they tell me there's nothing in the system. To manage this leak I've had to wash a load of towels every day to keep up, sometimes twice a day. Now my dryer has broken from excessive overuse, (a dryer we just bought upon moving in and won't be reimbursed by them) I can't dry towels to soak up the water so my kitchen floor is soaked and developing mold. It's also made the affordable cost of living here alot more expensive as my electric bills are way higher and detergent needs to be bought almost weekly. Roaches also will be living in your home in any apartment, no matter how clean you are, they come in through the outlets and walls. Don't get attracted by the price, lookout for your well-being, move somewhere else.
lived here for 4yrs. and in that time had to deal with roaches, rats, and having to take garbage down to dumpsters in parking lot and laundry to laundramat due to failed equipment. Now 6months later my deposit check is still unseen and has been promised 4 times to be on its way.No longer under TRG management they got smart
I just signed my lease for a two bedroom unit here at Summer Breeze. The Summer Breeze Management Team Mary Angelis, Unis and Sean were outstanding every step of the process. They made me feel at home the moment I arrived to start my tour and assisted me throughout the completion of my application and approval. And I have every confidence that they have a genuine and caring feeling for the property and the people that live here. Thanks from Cliff Thompson

I've tried for two days to reach them no one ever answers the phone or returns any kind of message (phone, emails etc) concerns me that if I did move in I'd never get anything taken care of.....
My husband past away several years ago. I was 53 and he was 59. I am now 67. Never ever have dated. Up until 5 years ago I was unable to find housing that I felt safe and comfortable. I moved to Summer Breeze and I finally feel better about life. Mgt. allows us to make the inside of our home comfortable for how we want it, short of removing walls. We are allowed to have our pets, which is a life saver for most of us that live here. We have a lovely pool, community room, and work out room, washer and dryer rooms at each end of the halls, water is included as well as water, pest control and new monthly AC filters. Summer Breeze is a small community and it is easy to make friends. The Sunshine Bus and Council on Aging Bus comes to the front door of our building. It's close to the hospital and the Doctors. Lots of restaurants and beautiful sight seeing. I still have my really sad days however, since moving here I have more good days than bad. My home is on the top 3rd floor and is a 2b/2b unit. My windows face the woods. It's very quiet and my sweet precious cat lets me know when there is a bird in the trees. Saint Augustine is a glorious place to live and I feel blessed every day that I get to live here. I am only a couple miles from the ocean and the beautiful beaches. We also have the Inter-Coastal Waterway that's great for fishing or just enjoying . Since there is lots of us who are alone we look after each other and check in with each other to make sure we are all ok. The front office also will give a call to check on us if we desire for them to. This is an independent living apartment complex and not assisted living. I truly love it here and hope that I will be able to stay for many years to come! Linda
