Property Ratings at The Reserve at Riverdale
Far cry from the “luxury” apartments they claim to be. The property managers were rude and uptight. The only good thing is the neighbors were lovely.

Dear Laura, it is most disheartening to learn that our management has not been meeting your expectations, as we take customer satisfaction quite seriously. If you would kindly contact us directly at your convenience or stop into the office to discuss your concerns and how we may better serve you, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Highly overpriced for the square footage. Besides being located next to Route 23, the location is absolutely awful. Located right next to some sort of recycling center or garbage center. A couple of days per week the entire neighborhood wreaks ALL DAY LONG and you cannot even sit outside for more than a few minutes. Walls are very thin and you can hear all of your neighbors-- especially on top and bottom. And not just normal walking, you can hear every word they are saying while talking at a very normal level. Worst of all is that the management team is very, very rude and disrespectful. They speak to you like you are a child for all matters, whilst providing you with no amenities or support. Clubhouse hasn't been open since COVID (while understandable, many clubhouses in the area re-opened months ago) but they are still charging you all of the fees associated with the clubhouse and pool and amenities which they are refusing to allow you access to. They leave the clubhouse open, even at times the doors are completely unlocked, yet they will not allow you to enter. They still let you enter for the gym with a mask of course. Others have used the clubhouse leaving their dishes around, but I was told I could not enter. The management alone is the only reason I would not recommend this condo complex-- extremely unprofessional.

Please be assured that we're committed to our residents' comfort and satisfaction. Kindly contact us directly to discuss what we can do to regain your confidence. Thank you.
I sm a former resident and couldn’t wait for my lease to end. They are horrible. There is constantly dog poop and pee in the elevators and hallways and the office gives you attitude when you call to alert them. They also are crazy with their rules. They are passive aggressive and sometimes just aggressive. If you don’t tie your trash to their liking, they take a picture and post it on your door. I hated this place and you will likely hate it too.

I enjoyed living here before the new management company took over the property on 10/31/2016. The new leasing staff is rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. We had a mysterious puddle of water that kept appearing at the base of the kitchen sink. The first time we filled out the request maintenance came in while we were in the apartment, they ripped open the bottom of a 15 pound bag of dog food and then left to give me "2 to 5 minutes to clean it up". The second time they arrived, they entered WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION while we were not home. Again, couldn't find the leak and left. There was NO communication that they were even there, what work that was done, or even if it was fixed. Just the bedroom door left wide open and the shower curtain pulled aside as evidence someone had entered. The puddle appeared again that night, so we filled out another request specifically stating DO NOT enter the apartment without our permission. The following day we came home at lunch to find the door unlocked, a bag of dog food on the floor and the bottom doors to the kitchen sink with all the chemicals in it left wide open. The dog was home a lone at the time and could've easily swallowed those chemicals. When we called the leasing office to make a complaint the woman on the phone was unapologetic and rude. She kept saying that it was considered an emergency even though we filled out the "non-emergency" maintenance form which gave us the option to tell them not to enter and they couldn't even find the leak 2 days ago. She continued to try and poke holes in our story and claimed that the maintenance man "never saw a dog" in the apartment . I wouldn't be leaving this review if all she had shown one ounce of regret or tried to resolve the issue in a professional manner. My recommendation is if you never need to interact with the leasing staff or maintenance its a fine place to live. However, be warned that the new owners are difficult to deal with and will treat you with disrespect.

Hi, We want our community to earn nothing but five-star reviews, so we're very disappointed to read these remarks. Please allow us to help find a resolution for you by contacting the leasing office at your earliest convenience. Thanks.
This apartment complex seems appealing for dog owners, as it allows for dogs over 50 pounds. However, recently, the rent per month per animal was increased to $100 a month. The complex does not use pet friendly pesticides, and the rent, plus pet security deposit is overpriced. Additionally, there are only commuter trains in the area, so if you're looking for night or weekend travel to the city, this isn't the spot for you. You pay northern NJ city prices, without easy city access. The porters and current office staff are a positive, in this otherwise average apartment that boasts luxury.
The apartment complex is very nice, as are the people who work here. It can be difficult to get in touch with the office if you try to call them, they don't always call back. They're also out showing apartments often during office hours so that is a bit difficult. The premises are always kept tidy. The pool, gym and clubhouse are all always nice and clean as well. Seating at the pool during the months it's open can be difficult to find. My biggest complaint is the annual rent increase. Every year for the last two years my rent has increased a decent amount. Due to this, I'm moving to a more central location where it's worth paying that much to be there. It's been a nice place to live though.
