Property Ratings at Viking Village Apartments
Breaker box connected to outside lights so very high electricity bill if you are unlucky enough to rent an upstairs apartment on outer edges. You won’t get deposit back no matter what. Roaches at one point infested the entire building. Told landlord but nothing was done because one tenant was worried the spray might harm her ani. Told his wife and the problem was immediately taken care of so at least there was that. I could say so much more but I won’t, but would not recommend.
As a long-time renter at Viking Village, I find it is a great place to live. It is conveniently located, quiet, safe, and well-kept. The Landlords provide timely service for anything that needs repaired or replace. I recommend renting here!
I show up, and look around, the carpet is grey. The walls are white. I take a step inside. Breathe... it'll be okay, I tell myself as I walk around the bend and into a kitchen. Which is a sorry excuse for a kitchen. Frankly we will refer to it as a hallway with a stove in it. I silently begin to cry as I realize this is my new home. I walk into the great room. Seems nice. Has a good view of a tire store. I remember to myself just how much I love watching tire stores get deliveries in the morning. I feel a little better about this place. At least something seems okay. The bedrooms? Tiny, I ponder how I can fit a bed into the room. Its getting dark, I go to turn on the light after a long day of looking around, and sulking in my tears. Only to find out, I need to provide lamps and the only lights in this place are in the bathroom, the dining area, and the sorry hallway with a stove in it. Frustrated, I drive to Walmart. Even Walmart feels more home-y. I consider spending the night, but I remember that the apartment has carpet. Dirty, but its carpet. I purchase the lamps. Cashier? friendlier than the Landlord. I get home and realize I don't need the lamps. There is a baseball game going on at the nearby high school. The blinding lights are piercing through the window. I close the blinds, but they don't work. I close the other blinds, only to realize the parking lot lights are on, trying to keep me awake at night. I can't escape it. I now am super sad and am hungry. I go to the hallway with a stove in it and open the fridge. Nothing. I consider eating the lamp. maybe it will bring more joy than staying in these apartments. I now begin to wonder why I even signed the lease. Now I'm stuck here, 30 years later. I still cry every night as the bright parking lot lights shine right on me. At least the shower is nice.
