We moved into this apartment complex in 2020 and were so excited by the prospect of making this our home because of the lovely garden and extremely kind neighbors. Within the first few months, we had a leak in the ceiling that lead to mold issues. It was the first instance of realizing how challenging it is to have the property management address service requests. In 4 years, we had a home invasion, rodent issues, and on-going frustrations with property upkeep/maintenance despite the yearly rent increase. The main reason we left was the lack of insulation in our unit became a health risk. Despite running 4 AC units, the temperatures exceed 90 degrees in the summer in the upper units. The 2 units provided by the company were over 15 years old. It was a frustrating battle to continually ask for management to address the excessive heat. Additionally, the shared laundry room dryers rarely worked, so most tenants take their laundry to a laundromat. After 4 years of requests to have the dryers serviced, we left.
My wife and I have lived here for 3 years and have loved it. There is a sprouts, and a Baja Market down the block. You can walk to a Trader Joes, old town Monrovia, Gold line Metro stop, and all kinds of fast food. The complex is kept very nice, the landscaping is unmatched for LA.
