Property Ratings at Walton Grove
I just toured this apartment community, and I’ve got to say, I’m really impressed. The whole team was involved in my tour, and I even got to meet the maintenance crew and a few residents. It wasn’t just a tour—it really felt like I was getting a peek into the community, and there’s definitely something special about Walton Grove. They took the time to listen to what matters most to me, even though my move-in date is still a few months away. I like to plan ahead, and they made sure all my questions were answered. When the right place opens up for me, I’ll be putting in my application right away. Great service all around!
A couple months in and there's just leaks in my apartment every time it rains. They close out service requests without doing a thing and refuse to communicate about repair timelines if there even are any. Management talk in circles, maintenance is lethargic at best. My apartment was great for two weeks. It reeks of mold and mildew now, the ceiling is sagging and cracked open in multiple places. Weeks pass and it gets worse, you have to put the same service requests in over and over just to watch them close out your ticket. Only way to get anything done is to go above their heads, put in multiple tickets, call & visit the office daily for weeks. This is a nightmare. All they care about is curb appeal and slapping new paint over damage so that when you tour your unit, it looks nice up until you sign your lease. Then you're not even an afterthought. For what I pay here, this place is unacceptable. STAY AWAY
The trash is overflowing every week and their solution to this was to blame the residents via mass email and set up cameras to catch people trying to throw away trash AND they recommended them to keep trash inside their homes until the complex cleared up the trash pile. They did not touch the trash Fri-Sun and sometimes wouldn't get to it until after Tuesday. Instead of finding a solution to this issue, they spent money on surveillance and blamed the residents. You cannot smoke outside. They say it is because the butts detract from the beauty of the grounds...unlike the piles of garbage left out all weekend. You also have to clean up after your dogs when they poop. Yes, this is a must because it IS a health hazard. If they see poops on the ground they will take a sample and send it off to a lab to determine the breed and then ask the owners of that breed of dog to confess and then they have to pay money all for the beauty of the grounds...*see trash complaint* Their emails are full of misinformation and they often have to send multiple copies because they cannot get themselves organized and even after sending out multiple emails, the information is STILL incorrect. They need to stop and read and edit BEFORE sending out information. To be fair, if the information is about "fun" community events or passive aggressively blaming the residents for issues they can fix are well written and don't need to be resent. Nobody wants to complain because the fear of retaliation is VERY REAL.
My fiancé and I lived here for three years. Rent was always paid on time and I would say we were pretty close with our neighbors and just productive citizens. Once we moved out we made sure to clean the apartment and took care of it while we're there. We weren't expecting to get our deposit back but we definitely weren't expecting a $400 charge for replacing the carpet. Against my better judgement I didn't take pictures of the carpet as I usually do when moving out of any place. We had just bought a new home and had a lot to do when it time to move out. That carpet was brand new when we got it. Any stains on were immediately cleaned...the carpet was not in a state to where it needed to be replaced. When trying to work with the leasing office as far as payment arrangement they said they didn't really want to deal with bothering themselves with working with us and would just send it t collections. After 3 years of paying this place our hard earned money and you don't want to be bothered with making payment arrangements . We wanted to pay...we just needed help in making some type of payment arrangement. We just bought a home and everything we had went into buying that home. I enjoyed living here but I must say I was really taken aback that they really would not work with us after all these years. The carpet didn't need replacing and shame on me for not taking pictures for myself.
This is a wonderful quiet community.It is in the heart of shopping malls, restaurants and attractions. It's a wonderful homey place whether your single or for a family... Forever grateful!
