Property Ratings at 1001 Melrose Ave
The review from February 2021 about 1001 melrose being unsafe with bad management is not true. It is a safe as it gets, and management, (which there is a language barrier), is great. The do a great job keeping the grounds clean; pool, gym, laundry room, clubhouse, and business center and landscape are always in excellent shape and tended to weekly. I’m have been here for 2.5 years, and have been comfortable with management who have always been reasonable when you request with reason. Through Covid, they did a great job closing down the gym and amenities to keep the complex safe, as well as security (not letting in non residents). The February review was completely unfair to management, probably a misunderstanding, because I’ve had 0 problems living here, and never felt unsafe. 5stars.
Worst office manager I have ever encountered. Many examples, but I will highlight two: 1. I told him I would be in the community room for a few minutes on an important work call. He does not say anything, then comes inside the room during the call and tells me to leave. He would not leave until I left. 2. I noticed a suspicious man wandering my floor. I called the manager to investigate. He goes to the man, points to my unit, and tells him that I called to report him. He knocks on my unit WITH the suspicious man to tell me the man is looking for a "friend." As a young woman living alone, this is a ridiculous response, and dangerous. I moved out after this. These two examples were ONLY in the last month of me living here. If you're thinking about living here, you can find another, cheaper and safer place.
We like we're we live. The building is located near shops and public transportation. The building is a bit old but maintanance is always ready to help out with any issues. My husband and I got married a year ago and we've living in a nice studio apartment. We had problems with the AC unit. It always needs some kind of repair. It had central AC and sometimes it doesn't cool air or it is too nosy. Maintanance is really good about helping with this problem, but the central AC system needs to eventually be replaced but I think it's too costly for the owner. I wish he could fix it because every year he keeps raising the rent by at least $150. And I hope the owner has enough money to repair this issue. If it wasn't for the AC problem this apartment would get 4 stars.
Great community, very clean. Gym in facility and swimming pool is always maintained.
