Property Ratings at 101 San Fernando
I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. Things are so bad I am breaking the lease. The management is unresponsive and unhelpful, often replying with “it is what it is” and claiming they cannot do anything to address issues. Safety is a major concern here. There have been multiple instances of mail theft from inside the mailroom, which is unacceptable. Additionally, homeless individuals frequently litter around the complex and store their belongings inside the building, causing a terrible smell and creating an unsafe environment for residents. The hygiene standards are abysmal, with trash and filth everywhere. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe and clean living environment.
no security cameras, lost packages from package room, shady /lying management. i can go on..

I was given a brief informal tour of the amenities at San Fernando, and I was misinformed by the front office lady that there is a pool and a spa. After looking around I believed her as there are many signs throughout the building that there exists a spa. I applied for the apartment and put down a $350 holding fee. After almost a week, I received a text message and email that I was approved for the room without being warned that my $350 holding fee would be taken after 48 hours of that text. I was very busy, and frankly, no longer interested in San Fernando after hearing more horror stories of the management, homeless problems, and security issues. I finally got back to the text message, and I was informed that I lost the $350. I asked to speak to her manager haven't come into contact with him. I was never given the managers email or direct phone number, I was just called by him during work hours for the following week by the generic San Fernando number, and a voicemail without setting down a specific time to talk. Whenever I call back, I get taken to the automated messaging which never puts me on the phone with management. Be careful, this company thrives off of unexperienced college renters.
Had a really bad experience with the team at 101 San Fernando. They are very polite to you until the time you rent from them. Once the money is paid, their attitude changes. They do not respond to emails and calls and they start being rude. They only want to make money and be sure of the fact that even if you die, they will send a bill to your grave and ask you to pay. I had an unfortunate incident in my family right after I started my lease. I hadn't even moved into the apartment. I informed the management and requested them to cancel my lease as soon as possible as I had to move out of the country indefinitely. From a different country, in the midst of a family crisis, I had to make multiple calls with them as they wouldn't even talk with anyone else (I had requested a friend of mine to visit them and talk on my behalf). THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN MONEY. On their website they display a "30 day satisfaction period". This is a fake advertisement. You cannot just end your lease within this 30 period. They will ask you to pay the rent for the next month. So even without staying a single day in the apartment, I had to pay almost 2 months rent, all sorts of utilities and on top of that they charged me ~$200 dollars for cleaning the apartment after termination. So I lost $4600 for an apartment in which I never stayed. This money I could have used for my family's medical expenses.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!SOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!So let me start with how unorganized this management team is. 3 different leasing agents helped me out. Kept getting different information about my process . I was told I was accepted, however after getting the news, another person calling with an attitude to tell us we wereaccepted, literally minutes later Kristen calls to tell us we’re not. Didn’t give us a reason at all and refused to tell us why…... Continued to receive receipts from the after the fact !!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! They don’t communicate with each other obviously. They took a month on my application. That’s funny to me because I applied elsewhere after the fact and got accepted in 2 days &&& it’s a nicer apartment building!!After seeing the reviews I saw they have done this to other people, asking for an extra 4K is ridiculous. I have never experienced something like this applying at other places in the past .
Please read and UNDERSTAND the previous reviews before considering this place, they really are spot on! My credit is great, but they wanted almost an extra $4k to get the place. 101 San Fernando ultimately took $150 due to the lack of initial information regarding possible less than stellar credit situations. These people are extremely rude and do not have integrity. It makes no difference to them if you get what you want. They have no intention on giving it to you straight. You will have to walk over bums to get out of the complex. None of this was worth my time and effort.
My Fiance and I lived here for from November 2017 to April 2019. Our neighbors were polite and the maintenance people are the best thing the apartment complex can offer! There are a number of things that make this property far below the "luxury" advertised on the aging and graffiti ridden buildings. You will occasionally run into a drugged out homeless person on your way down the stairs or in the elevator. In October 2018, we got coach roaches in our building and our unit was one that was affected. Disgusting, but I thought that the apartment complex would be able to handle the situation. Skipping ahead 4-months, we still had our roach problem after multiple requests for more drastic measures to be taken by management. When we moved out, no one actually came by to inspect our apartment to tell us what should be done before we move out. Instead we received a bill for damages in an apartment that they are completely renovating. The alarm system is out of date and at lest 2-3 times a month would go off at any hour of the day. Mostly, between 9:00pm-4:00am. Since this is an old building the fire department would have to come and inspect before the alarm was able to turn off. Also, do not order packages to this apartment. Use an alternate address. Many times our packages would never arrive or be taken form our front door. If you have more than one car, the complex does not allow you to rent out one of the many extra spaces available underneath the complex. Instead you are able to use the parking garage across the street where my car was broken into twice - good luck with that - or you can park on the street as long as you move by 6:00am. I do not know if there are multiple interpretations for the word luxury, but 101 San Fernando is a mediocre property at best. Unless you are desperate to live downtown near St. James Park (Where all the homeless hang out) or Chacho's for taco Tuesday I strongly advise living somewhere else.
Not a safe apartment. Was visiting a friend for a night while moving from CA to UT. Parked the car in the designated parking spot in their private garage. The car got broken into and most of my girlfriends stuff and my stuff was stolen. Stolen items include but not limited to Office laptop, personal hard drive with 10 years of photos and family memories-irreplaceable and don't have backup, ipad pro 12", xbox, jewellery, and a few more things. The apartment complex management was non responsive and didn't help. Stay away from these apartments if you want your stuff to be safe. They have security cameras in place but still refused to help. Unsafe and unprofessional place.
Right in the heart of downtown San Jose, and come with all the luxury appliances.
Center of downtown san jose, minutes walk to everything downtown, major events at SAP center, 50 restaurants minutes walk, just like NYC, theater, opera, comedy, great food and social fun
