Property Ratings at 1013 N Broad St
DO NOT MOVE HERE. Have been here for almost a year. Last 4 months they have a serious cockroach problem. I’m not from NJ and never seen a roach in my life. I asked around and the other tenants said it was normal. No matter how much you call for pest control the problem never gets solved. It’s truly disturbing that people can get away with this! After the last super left the building they didn't cut the grass around the building, They didn’t clean hallways... This place is not safe to live in, some gang groups have appeared in recent months. definitely moving after the contract expires!
Apartment is completely renovated, this place its amazing under new management .
they don't clean doors are always open apts bad and they don't want to fix and owners are cheap and if u tell them u called the the city they will kick u out and keep your money they are money-hungry and on top of that so you have roaches lots of they and mold please don't move in here!!!! he'll be where they own a building and they're the same owners for the building on East Jersey Street and 1&9
The apartment was not painted when I received the keys. It took me three days to paint the apartment when I noticed the super(Gino) only used spray paint on the parts of the walls he thought looked dirty. He also put tape over holes in walls. They charge $25 for each additional key. The front and back door of the building are propped open day and night. The lock on the entrance door is always broken or missing. Not one of the light fixtures have a cover leaving the bulbs exposed in every room. There is a mice infestation, water bugs and roaches. I found a roach nest in the ceiling. I have not figured out how the water bugs get in. I'm tired of trapping mice but when they die between the walls after eating poison the bathroom and kitchen smell rotten. I cannot keep anything in the bottom cupboards because of the mice problem. The exterminator they use told me he doesn't spray he only puts roach gel. The office person "Frances" is a very nasty person. Unless its an emergency affecting other renters they will not send someone to repair right away. The bathroom didn't have a towel holder or TP holder. And the lease conveniently states improvements such as fixtures attached to the property belongs to them. If I were not tied into this lease I would have left sooner. The day I moved in my new neighbors told me how horrible the maintenance is and how rude the office personnel is. They also told me the person before me was paying $200 less than I am. The building across the street at 1025 is newer, better maintained and better value. The management is much nicer too. A few of the tenants from this building have moved across the street to nicer apartments.
I move to this building and it was the worts apartment I have ever rented. There was rats, roches, bedbug etc. The floors and steps smells horrible from the dirty water they use to clean. I don't know how the City of Elizabeth allowed this inpection to pass with all this violations.Deni is the unprofessional person to talk too when there's a issue..so many more stuff to say but I leave it here.att apt 209
