In August, you'll want to head downtown to enjoy the Wasco County Fair and Rodeo, an event held since 1885. Another great destination, the Fort Dalles Museum and Anderson Homestead, contains the former fort's Surgeon's Quarters, built in 1856. The museum first opened in 1905, making it one of the oldest museums in the state.
