Steeped in history and unique culture, Baltimore is among America’s most culturally-rich cities. Centuries spent as a major port city have contributed to a diverse mix of influences, resulting in the eclectic range of food and art found in Baltimore today. The relatively compact layout of the city makes life a bit easier for pedestrians and cyclists — it also means that, even though the city is home to over 600,000 people, it retains the feel of a much smaller community. The city’s neighborhoods display a huge degree of variety, ranging from rowhouses to high-rise apartments to charming suburban subdivisions.
It’s an excellent city for sports fans, with the Orioles and the Ravens representing Baltimore in the big leagues. The arts community is quite active in Baltimore as well, largely thanks to the Maryland Institute College of Art and the huge Artscape festival that draws thousands every May.

Property Ratings at 1111 Light Street
I am on my third lease at 1111 and it has been the best apartment experience I've had in Baltimore city. Front desk staff and management are great and attentive. Any maintenance issues are dealt with promptly (Steve). Amenities are adequate and well maintained. Exceptionally walkable location with access to public transportation. Everything you need is within a few blocks, sans a grocery store, which even that is only .9 miles away. Tons of restaurant and bar options. Cross Street Market is directly across the street. CVS, ACE, gas station, convenience stores, banks, liquor stores, coffee shops, laundromat, dry cleaner, post office, medical offices, gyms, hotels, rental car, zipcar, waterfront promenade, spas, nail salons, salons, barbershop the list goes on and it's all within walking distance. The bedrooms are large and have massive walk-in closets. The building feels very secure, and I've never had any safety concerns. Amazing views of downtown depending on your unit. Overall, I would 100% recommend 1111 Light if you're looking to move to the South Baltimore area.

Wonderful staff and maintenance. Everyone is so friendly. Emails are responded to in a timely manner. The building is safe and clean. 10/10 would live here again.

I have been in 1111 light street for 3 of my 5 years of living in Baltimore and this is by far the best place to live for the price you pay. From the front office staff to the maintenance workers, everyone is friendly and very helpful to make the transition these last 3 years easier. There are fun events that the staff plans for us ( looking forward to crabs in August). It located right in the Heart of the city so everything is walking distance away. I’m glad I’m able to live here.BEST APARTMENTS IN BMORE!!!!!!!

Thank you for the great review and recommendation! We're pleased to know you've been so satisfied with your experience.
Besides the fact this complex is located in the heart of Fed Hill, right across from the Cross Street Market and a short walk from the inner harbor, the rooms are excellent and the management/staff have been incredible! Lethra and Jack have been so responsive and helpful, and any time we have put in a work order we've needed some maintenance done, it has occurred extremely promptly (generally within a day or so). I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice location in Fed Hill.

The management of this apartment complex changed less than a year ago and it seems as if everything has gotten extensively worse. The staff no longer informs us of urgent information like 1111 garage burglaries, maintenance presence, stolen mail, AC not working, and crimes that occur within and around the property. Finally, there are two elevators in this complex. One of these elevators, the only one with wheel chair access to and from the garage, has been broken for almost two months now and still we have not been notified when it will be fixed. I do not recommend moving into this apartment complex.

Thank you for your review. We understand that Management transitions can be difficult on residents. Amenities are often updated and/or redesigned in an effort to better meet the customer needs of today. It is our goal to resolve resident issues as they arise. Unfortunately, the repairs to the rear elevator did take longer than estimated due to parts needed. All elevators are back up and running. We have reviewed your concerns and will make adjustments in order to best serve our residents. Thank you for your residency at 1111.
My girlfriend and I moved in a few months ago and couldn't be happier This is our first apartment and we really enjoy the place. The staff has been excellent as well, responding to emails quickly and having great face-to-face interaction. As we are new to the area, Brad and Metrea did a great job recommending places for a night out or a good breakfast. The apartment itself has proved to be very comfortable, the design is modern, simple, and laid out well. The entire grounds along with the fitness center, rooftop terrace, and outdoor yard are very well kept. No doubt this was the best choice in Federal Hill
Have been living in the building for 6 months. The staff has been friendly and helpful any time I need assistance. Maintenance has responded to my requests within a few days. Location and price is almost unbeatable for the quality of the rooms and building.
The staff here have gone above and beyond in making my dog feel welcomed & loved. I am so thankful for their generosity & kindness and feel very lucky to be a part of such a great community. They are consistently making improvements to cater to their residents & it doesn’t go unnoticed.
If everything is going well then this is a great place to live. However, as soon as something goes wrong the management staff is extremely difficult to work with. Similar to another reviewer, my car was also towed out of my OWN tandem parking spot that I pay for underneath the building. The office staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. It is surprising to hear that this frequently happens to renters - it seems clear that the policy needs to change. A few days after moving into the building, my entire closet collapsed and was not fixed for a month. Again, the office staff was unapologetic and unhelpful throughout this process. I have also heard similar situations from other renters. Now that there are plenty of apartment buildings to choose from in Federal Hill, I would recommend finding a different building.
The location is smack dab in the downtown area of Fed Hill, where everything is happening. Unfortunately, I have decided to write this review because I am sitting here with the fire alarms going off again for the THIRD time this month. The alarm has been randomly going off (at night, sometimes as late as midnight) over the last few months. The first time it happened, we got an apology from management, telling us that it would be fixed. Management has yet to say anything for the last six times it has happened.... As far as parking goes, you can pay for a spot in the garage, but don't expect management to play nice concerning the tow-sharks. They do not pass along your plates to the tow people. This means that if for ANY reason the tow people cannot see your tag, expect to pay to have your car released from the tow lot. As far as maintenance goes, I have to give it to 1111. We never had a problem. We would put a ticket in and the problems would be fixed within 24 hours. Overall I would say the place just isn't worth it given the price and the lack of quality management. You can find a nice (and cheap) alternative in renting row houses in Fed Hill. Enjoy!
I moved to Baltimore after college without knowing the area or anyone who lived there. The staff was very welcoming and helped show me around Fed. They introduced me to my neighbors and set up awesome events to help meet people. I've been here for a year now and have already made some great friends with other tenants in the building.
Honestly, the best part about this building is the location. You can walk right outside the front door of the building and be in center of everything. The farthest I ever have to walk to get to anything is about 4 blocks. Also, being in the center of everything in Federal Hill, there are always people around and we are in one of the safest areas here. There is always a cop standing right across the street near the Cross Street Market which makes me feel very safe.
Living at 1111 has been so convenient for everything in my life. I work near the Harbor so I can easily walk, bike, or take the free Charm City circulator that stops right outside of the building. There are racks to store my bike in the garage and public bike rentals .5 blocks from the front doors. Not only do I not have to fight for street parking (because we have a garage) but I don't have to pay for gas every week! The grocery stores are about .5 mile away and are easy to walk to. You can also grab items at the 7 Eleven conveniently located next door. In the spring there are several Farmers Markets in walking distance which I take full advantage of. If you're looking to move to the city, I highly recommend 1111! You can't beat the location!
I have to say that in all the apartments I've ever rented, the closets at 1111 are magnificent. They are huge and leave extra space for storage. One of the best features of the apartments!
I have been living at 1111 Light Street for almost 3 years now and I have loved it. The 2 bedroom apartments are the perfect set up for roommate living. You each have your own sizable bedroom with a huge walk in closet and your own bathroom attached. However, the best part about living here is the location. If what you want is to live in Federal Hill, it does not get better then this. We are right in the center of everything. The farthest I would ever have to walk to get to anything in Federal Hill is maybe 4 blocks. All the main bars and restaurants are right out of our front door. My friends always come to my apartment before we do anything in Fed Hill because we so close to everything. Also, the fact that I am able to come home from work every day and have a place to park is amazing!! I never have to search for parking.
My experience at 1111 Light Street has been great from day one. Everyone at the leasing office has been extremely helpful and responsive. They consistently show how much they appreciate the residents. My apartment is updated, spacious, and in the PERFECT location. I love being able to walk to all that Federal Hill has to offer while also having immediate access to I-95 for work. You can't beat walking out your front doors to the Cross Street Market, restaurants, and favorite stores like Punch and Brightside! I couldn't be happier with my decision to make 1111 Light Street my new home in Baltimore.
I have been living at 1111 Light Street for 2 years and don't plan on leaving any time soon! The apartment is spacious and perfect for living with a roommate. The closets are the biggest of any apartment building that I have seen!! The appliances are all brand new and energy efficient. The amenities are always very clean and available for use. When it comes to Resident Events--1111 has the BEST! Every year they host a HUGE Holiday party at a local bar with all you can eat/drink. The location is unbeatable since you walk out your front doors to all the restaurants and shops. Even though we're so close to all the hot-spots, you never have to worry about noise. You can't hear anything once you get inside the building. You can also get in and out of the city very quickly with access to 95. Parking is a must in Federal Hill and 1111 has an attached, secure garage. Having toured almost all of the other apartment buildings in Federal Hill, I can definitely say that 1111 Light Street was the best choice!
I just moved in to 1111 Light Street. It's so convenient to walk to all the restaurants, bars and the Cross Street Market . I have a great view of the city and I'm at my job in minutes. The apartment is great.
I love living at 1111 because it's right in the middle of all the action in Federal Hill. I can walk to work, the Inner Harbor, Ravens & Orioles games, and to all the restaurants and shops!
I moved to Baltimore from a small town in North Carolina. I was a little nervous because I knew there was going to be some adjusting, but the staff at 1111 made that extremely easy! Upon arrival I was given an information packet with a ton of things to do and try in the area. Living at 1111 I am easily able to explore the best Federal Hill has to over by walking out my front doors. There's always something going on whether it be a festival, happy hour, or resident event.
Living at 1111 Light Street is worth every penny. The building offers secure garage parking, a rooftop terrace with AMAZING views of the Inner Harbor, a 24/7 fitness center, friendly staff, amazing maintenance service, and beautiful apartment units. The location is EXTREMELY convenient for getting around Baltimore, and you can't beat being able to walk to all of bars and restaurants. Moving in a city can be difficult, but 1111 made it so easy with convenient alley access and valet/shopping carts to expedite the process. I HIGHLY recommend living at 1111!
I never have to worry about security here - my car is protected in the garage and the security guard on the weekends gives me peace of mind! The location is also ideal because it's never more than a 5-10 minute walk to the bars, games or the Inner Harbor.
1111 is the best place to live in Federal Hill. I have been there for a little more than two years and it has been great. The building is safe and the amenities can't be beat. There is a parking garage in the building and beautiful roof-top views of the city. The people who live in the building are great neighbors and fun people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. I can walk to all the near-by restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Its close to the highway for commuters. I would absolutely recommend this building if you are looking for a place to live in Federal Hill.
