Property Ratings at 115Bruen
This is the best affordable, clean and friendly property in the Newark, NJ area. Literally, 1 5 minute walk from Newark Penn Station, Ironbound and Prudential Center, 115 Bruen is extremely convenient for those who enjoy the nightlife and events. Secure garage parking with large spaces are available (for a fee) onsite. The building staff is second to none as they are up early every morning tidying garbage, laundry and common areas. Maintenance staff is very attentive and resolves almost any issue immediately. Units are equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and hardwood floors. Laundry rooms are on each floor and outdoor terrace available for you to get some fresh air anytime you wish. Residents are respectful and friendly. Ultimately, this is an awesome place to live.
I have nothing but positive things to say about 115 Bruen. The owner(s) & staff are wonderful! They made sure that anything needing addressed was addressed immediately - from any minor neighbor noise complaint - to a fully flooded apartment lol... they took care of everything! I would HIGHLY recommend you choosing 115 Bruen (or any affiliated building under J&L ) as you'll ALWAYS get a quality unit - high end style finishes - spacious layouts - and ultimately (which was SUPER important to me) a clean & secure building. Don't pass them up!
We have been living here for about a year now and so far we have no complaints. Building is always clean, management and superintendent responds quickly. Very nice living conditions, we love it.
115 Bruen is a great property to live in. Management is very attentive and helpful, I have been here since they first opened up the property and do not have any complaints. Very neat, clean, tidy, great location - close to trains and path, very safe neighborhood and building. I would not leave if I didn't have to move abroad for work.
115 Bruen building is maintained super clean(kudos to the management) and Penn station is just 10 min walk. Management is very responsive and addresses the issues reported as soon as possible. Supermarket, walgreens, usps, multiple restaurants and Newark downtown is within walking distance. Safe car parking in ground floor with secured access throughout the building. Neighbourhood is safe. This place is highly recommended! ~ ex-resident.
I love it here. The place is really nice. EXTREMELY CLEAN. Someone cleans every morning and even on the weekends. The hallways are immaculately clean and smell really good. Management is kind, they could be more helpful during the move-in process and following up but all in all its a very good place to live. The residents are so kind, I can go on and on about my neighbors. They are always willing to lend a hand and will answer any questions you have about the neighborhood. If you are an NYC commuter, this is the place to live in Newark. Those other buildings are so expensive and 115 is truly a gem.
Where do I even begin? I was one of the first tenants to move into this new building located in the Ironbound section. A five-minute walk to Penn Station (if you walk as fast as I do) and for what you're paying in rent it's so worth it. Everything about this place is wonderful. Its secure, clean and the management is great. The apartments are beautiful. So happy I could call this home for over two years. I highly recommend 115 Bruen!
115 Bruen .... I write with a tight heart and eyes full of water ... I lived almost two years in a place that I found the comfort and security that I had in my country, as an immigrant we felt excluded, but I found in my security and excellent service of the administration, as well as easy communication for the assistance when I needed it, common area always very clean and organized, near supermarket location, easy access to train station .... leave therefore I had to move to Long Island , but as soon as I have to return I want my address to be 115 from Bruen, thank you! Melchior - Longh Island NY
Our experience here is average at best. The management office is extremely UNORGANIZED. We like living here but it takes way too long to put in a service request and get a response. It seems like a hassle since I have to email and follow up with a call just to get in touch with someone. We haven't had a landlord on site for months, but that puts the tenants at a disservice because it makes everything more complicated than it should be. And the management office already has a new building around the corner going up and opening soon and we are concerned that it will take them even longer to respond to our service requests now. If they can't follow up with one building full of tenants, imagine how it will be with two large building and over 100 apartments. Also $150/month for parking PER CAR is a bit absurd. So if you have a roommate and you have two cars, that's $300 extra in addition to rent a month. Living in a nice building should come with a great experience and less headaches. I'm hoping they hire more people in the office so that things can be done in a timely manner and with less hassle. They always make empty promises about following up with information but it seems you have to harass them in order to get a response. Please do better in 2018! If this continues I will be forced to no renew our lease and we're hoping it doesn't come to that, but with this management company nothing is for certain.

Thank you we appreciate your feedback. We do apologize for any delays you’ve experienced in the past. Unfortunately, we’ve been without a building superintendent for the past few months, which has led to slower than usual response times. However, we’ve recently hired a wonderful new building superintendent. The super and our management team are highly responsive and aim to provide the highest quality services to our residents. Our parking rate of $150 for a single space and $225 for double-spaces are comparable with parking rates in the market. We will continue to take the necessary steps to give our residents the best experience possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (973)-900-6469 with any questions or concerns. We hope that we can improve upon your experience at 115 Bruen. Thank You. Sincerely, Matthew, Property Manager (973)-900-6469
I understand the $50 fee is not refunded, that is not my issue. My point is that they take your $50 fee and when they run your credit, they are not using any of the 3 big credit score companies, therefore they had my score 60 points lower then all 3 big credit score companies had it. The guy, who's name I don't know, told me the company they use, some unknown company. I do not think it is fair, as they are not giving a consumer a fair chance, yet they keep your $50. so how many fees of $50.00 did they collect for the same apartment? ( I am sure my money wasn't the only one taken)
I recently had to relocate from NJ to Atlanta Ga for family and work. I lived at 115 Bruen for nearly two years and can honestly tell you I had a great experience. I loved being so close to the city and enjoyed living in the Ironbound section of Newark. The management has always been courteous to me and quick to respond to any call. The apartment was large for NYC metro and a great place to come home to. I will return to NJ in the near future and 115 Bruen will be my first call. Truly a great place to call home. I've only lived in the building a few months but so far it's been a great experience. The building itself is beautifully done with a tasteful design and very high quality finishes. It is well located, just a short walk from the train station, restaurants etc. and has a really nice indoor garage too. The management team has been really responsive and helpful every time I've had a question. I looked at a number of apartments in the area and am really happy I settled here. Highly recommend!
This is our second years living in this building and we are very happy living here. The building is very nice, nice finishes, nice design and good maintenance. If this building was in downtown NJ you would have had to pay at least twice this price! My husband and I, we both work in the city in downtown area and going to work with path train is very convenient. in rush hour trains leave every 4 minuets and in weekend every 20.( If you know the schedule you won't wait 20 minuets) Before moving to Newark we've heard many bad things about Newark but this is a different neighborhood!, it's Iron bound. There are cool bars and restaurants close by. there is a big supermarket few blocks away, so we actually didn't even own a car, but anyway there is a parking space in the building if you have a car. Our apartment is on the other side of the building, far from the trains, so we actually don't hear any train noise. also, windows are perfect, so if you have it closed you wont hear any thing! The management used to be not this responsive but in the last few months they are very responsive. The management take good care of the building and after 1.5 I still have the feeling that everything is very new.
I've lived in the building for almost two years. I am beyond happy here. The building includes a wonderful community terrace on the second floor where people hangout when it's warm. Hallways and lobby are beautiful with dark wooden floors. There is cool art throughout the building. The management team is AMAZING. They respond same day and are quick to resolve any issues. The live-in super is SO nice and helpful. He will assist tenants with just about anything. This building is really unique for Newark. The building is just a few blocks from Penn and surrounded by awesome restaurants. Tenants are warm and friendly. Great lux living. -Happy tenant
Amazing apartment complex. As a new resident of 115 Bruen St all I can say is this is one of the best places to live in Newark from the management to the unit layouts is everything you'll ever need to succeed. Satisfaction Guaranteed :)
