Wedged between the Savannah River and Watkins Street and extending from Gordon Highway to E Boundary, Old Town (or Olde Town) is a beautiful residential neighborhood with a long history. That odd name is derived from the gut-pinching corsets favored by Southern Belles in the 19th century. A stroll along Broad Street or Greene Street is like walking through time. The rows of historic homes are separated by tree-filled medians, some with benches and period lighting.
