Property Ratings at 1190 S Bellaire
My complaints about this apartment and it’s complex comes down to three crucial issues that I think are pretty important to any quality of life. 1. Pray you live on the top floor. I lived on the first floor and the floors above me were the creakiest, squeakiest floors I’ve ever experienced; I was woken up every morning due to my upstairs neighbors just walking around. The floors are so amplified that I could trace their every footsteps. 2. Safety. My own apartment door’s deadlock was loose and wobbly enough that I’m willing to bet I could have knocked it off with my own hands, you could see through the space from the hall into my apartment. 3. Air Conditioning. No apartment’s air conditioning is perfect, especially at this price in Denver. But, my A/C could barely manage a tolerable temperature during summer months, and managed to break on me during a week with temperatures over 100 degrees. It took about two weeks for a new unit to get installed, forcing me to endure the worst of the summer. 4. One last complaint is laundry, or lack thereof. Two washers and driers for the whole building, one drier didn’t work, and then for the final few months of my lease, dirty water covered the laundry room floor. My complaints don’t include management, as I feel they’re likely the same complaints about any large scale management company. But the trust me, you can find better for a comparable price. And even if it makes your budget stretch just a little bit, the price increase is likely worth the saved stress and mental health.
This is an account of my experience with "Local by Laramar", and why you should avoid them at all costs. 8 months ago here in Denver a young man was assulated, robbed, and raped after being dragged from the 1st floor to the basement. As far I know he was never caught. I complained to building management that we need to make the property safer for its residents. However they have done the opposite, taking down the cameras that we had on our property claiming they didn't work and installing a key code lock on the back door which has increased the flow of homeless people getting in to our building who have somehow gotten the code. Also our front door lock was broken as well which was only fixed about 6 weeks ago only after the entire building banned together to force them to fix. When I asked the leasing company "Local By Larimar" to do something about this they said, "call the cops, there's nothing they can do". I have since called and spoken to several employees including the manager who doesn't seem very concerned. I am posting this to shed some light on the issue and hopefully force building management to take the proper steps to make the building safer for there residents.
Everybody here just got a notice about bed bugs in the building and theres a guy coming around to inspect everybody's apartment. Its probably because there is only 2 washers and dryers that you have to pay for to use in the entire building. Floors are always filthy.
We have bed bugs here according to our email update. Theres rats and the floors are always dirty. There is a rent crisis in Denver this is not worth it.
