Stretched along Interstate 75 in the heart of Northern Michigan, the city of Gaylord is regarded as Michigan’s Alpine Village. Swiss-themed architecture and ambiance pervades Gaylord’s downtown area on Main Street, which contains a wide variety of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. Gaylord’s downtown pavilion is also a gathering place for community events and activities, including a twice weekly farmers market.

Gaylord is the county seat of Otsego County, which is home to more than 90 inland lakes and five pristine rivers in addition to miles of diverse parks, forests, and trails. There is no shortage of outdoor adventure near Gaylord, from fishing to skiing and everything in between. Some of Gaylord’s most popular attractions involve wildlife, from the extensive exhibits at the Call of the Wild Museum to the live elk that roam Gaylord’s City Elk Park.
