Unprofessional management that is designed in place to make it impossible for you to get support!

We apologize for the dissatisfaction and look forward to assisting! Kind Regards, Madison WeCare@udr.com
Roaches, poor service, and bed bugs, oh my! I’ve had a lot issues since I moved into this building. Mainly: 1) it’s disgusting. The cleaning team is kind and works REALLY hard — but know all cleanliness is due to them. Dog pee on floors and in elevators, every kind of pest (and I live on the fourth floor), and I was recently notified of nearby bedbugs with no follow up from the building beyond inspecting the closest apartments one time. The building is fairly clean during business hours but once tours are done can get pretty foul. 2) the office is horrid at communicating and nearly impossible to get in touch with if you don’t catch them in the office. I was tricked into an 11-month lease after being offered and accepting a month to month to month lease. Rather than updating my information in their system, the admin team just didn’t and demanded I abide an incorrect lease as “that’s how it was in their system”. Just don’t trust them and even though they try to make it impossible, get things in writing. 3) they’ve been making “improvements” over the last 6 or so months to make the building aesthetically look better while all of these underlying issues remain. Don’t fall for it! The units are indeed nice in features and layout but know you can’t enjoy them without delayed maintenance, nasty encounters, and little access to building managers who might help on the way. Super unfortunate — the location is GREAT.

We are sorry to hear that you have been dissatisfied with your time in our community. According to our records, your home has submitted only one request for pest control during your residency. This request was place 4/12/23. If you are still experiencing pest issues, please submit another service request so that our team can assist. The notice you received on 5/12/23 was an alert that the building would be undergoing treatment due to a nearby unit experiencing issues. On 5/17 our team sent you a follow up letting you know that no pest activity was found in your home. They also advised that if you were concerned, to please submit a service request for additional pest control. Your current lease is a 12 month lease agreement. This renewal offer/lease agreement was selected by your household, provided for review prior to signing, and signed by your household. We apologize for any confusion; however, we must remain fair and consistent by abiding by the terms of the signed lease contract. We apologize for any disappointment with your experience and appreciate your robust feedback! Kind Regards, Madison
My washer and dryer went out and it took them a month to get it fixed, also my refrigerator went out twice and when I asked them to reimburse me for my groceries they also said no. Upper management at this location are evil and nasty people. Trust me never move here you will regret it

Hello, We are sorry to hear that you have been experiencing maintenance issues in your home. Our team works hard to solve all requests as quickly and effectively as possible. There are times where delays may occur due to a part/replacement on order, needing to coordinate with a vendors schedule, or needing to troubleshoot the concern. We understand this can be inconvenient and we do apologize for that. We are unable to provide rent abatement or reimbursement as we never promise nor guarantee our residents will never experience any service-related concerns during their residency. For this reason we require renters’ insurance to assist with offsetting any costs. We sincerely apologize that you have been dissatisfied with you time with us and appreciate you sharing your feedback with our team. Kind Regards, Madison WeCare@udr.com
I am a working professional and was looking for a less than one year lease while I completed my employment contract. I moved into this building from another one downtown due to its proximity to the metro. The building is poorly managed. On tour, they do not reveal that they charge you an additional almost two hundred to use the amenities. It is well hidden in your contract as a move-in cost labeled "membership fee". The property is poorly maintained. The first apartment viewings I saw the hallway carpets smelled like raw chicken. Unfortunately did this not last, and the smell in the hallway alternated between marijuana and trash from the trash room. The smell was so thick that sometimes the odor of weed would seep into my apartment from the vents. The initial charge of my parking was 125. I was never sent a parking contract (which I requested) and during my apartment tenure, they increased it to 160 without notice. A few disgruntled tenants did post signs in the elevators which is how I came to find out. The apartment itself looked superficially nice but every appliance was made of poor cheap materials. The blinds kept falling off, and we ended up storing them in the cupboard (I was charged for them on moveout). The kitchen sink tap was so poorly made the handle unscrewed and fell off. The washer and dryer were placed in the closet at a weird angle so that the door was never able to be shut fully. I paid for cleaning services on move out and they still charged me carpet cleaning (125) though they were white unstained and I had no pets. If I had to choose again I would have paid slightly more per month for a better experience and less headache.
This is a horrible place to live. The only good thing is the aesthetic of the building and the kind leasing agent. The property manager is unprofessional and does not know how to conduct herself. UDR corporate is no help. Things constantly break, there is a bug infestation problem, and neighbors are disrespectful and nosy. My boyfriend was cornered by my neighbor in the elevator. Crappy place to live. I wouldn't recommend.
I enjoy my apartment at 1200 East West. The amenities are nice, the customer service is excellent and the apartment building and unit is well maintained with nice features and fixture. For the location, walking to the metro, buses at the corner and across the street, walking to Downtown district, restaurants and shops less than 5 min away...the value for your rental dollar, compared to the other apartments in the area can't be beat.

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you are enjoying living here at 1200 East West. We do our best to keep our residents happy. If we can help you in the future, please let us know. Enjoy your stay!
Well maintained with a pleasant and professional staff. Right above a new coffee shop, and steps from the Giant grocery store and CVS. The rent is equal to/ slightly lower than at comparable apartments in the area. (Many of the older buildings in the area just aren't as nice, so we thought that in the long term, the slight savings weren't worth it. ) Pets are very welcome. The residents are friendly (people say hello) and good neighbors (no loud parties). Yay!
